@@PlantzNThings my Euphorbia lactea white ghost just started putting out a new little growth point so very excited about that! Euphorbia Flanaganii (Medusa's Head) and Euphorbia platyclada (dead plant) are also faves because they’re just so odd looking haha

Sansevieria are what I consider the backbone of my plant collection. I caught a euphorbia fever this last year (added 7 to the plant family). Also, just started dabbling in Kalanchoe this past summer. Love the structural beauty and relatively low demands of all these plants. I can have more, but the care is manageable. Euphorbia millii is my ever bloomer. Last year my Sansevieria 'Mohawk' was in bloom and the smell was aggressive, so even though it's pretty, I chopped it off. My dieffenbachia and aglaonema have been blooming, and I've been cutting those back, no need to waste growing energy. Thanks for featuring plants I adore but don't receive the screen time they deserve.

I agree about the sansevieria being the backbone... there are so many varieties, shapes, sizes.. the euphorbia milii is a Great one for blooming.. I usually always have one... but can't remember why I don't now...lol euphorbia is quickly turning into a favorite as well as a group.. do you have any interesting ones you'd recommend?

@@PlantzNThings I've grown the common Euphorbia trigona for years, but most of my other specimens I've only had just over half a year. The Euphorbia lactea 'White Ghost' is lovely, but I've craved getting what I consider it's beefy cousin, the Euphorbia ammak variegated. I'd like an obesa, but I've only sourced a hybrid (I think of obesa and infausta) so far. I got a rooted cutting from an older specimen (it came with a great story) just labeled dragon bones that I'm still trying to ID confidently. Recently I ordered a Euphorbia bougheyi that has a fun flat form that reminds me of jungle cacti. My favorite new Euphorbia baby is a decaryi. The body structure is a bit like a short milii with denser texture, but I'm very pleasantly surprised with the leaf texture. I think I was expecting a thinner leaf, like a milii, but it is rigid kinda like a Hoya aff. burtoniae. Like cardboard or carved leather. I've seen cool examples where they fill a shallow bowl over time. My favorite, the Euphorbia grandicornis, was purchased inspired by an amazing display at a conservatory. I'm glad I got a small version because the thorns on it are for serious. The contrast between the green body and creamy tan thorns,as well as edges, give it a visual outline that pops. Some on my dreams of Euphorbia List: ammak variegata, obesa, horrida major nova, neohumbertii, francoisii, polygona snowflake. When I've needed Euphorbia inspiration I've found Morris Park in the Ozarks & Desert Plants of Avalon to be top notch. Also I like looking at Planet Deserts inventory, even if it's not in stock, they have an in depth list with decent pics of plants generally available in the market. All this, to say, growing a variety of forms keeps my interest and joy in Euphorbias. The relative ease of care lets me add without really increasing the pressure of maintenance that can happen as your plant family expands. Space and light are my real limiting factors. And really, thank you for Sansevieria content. It's actually how I originally came across your channel. I enjoy growing many, many different kinds of plants, but we all have our favorites.

I had no idea the Bacularis could also become this large. It's pretty clear most if not all sans in stores (at least where I live) are sold as young plants because I bought mine that was barely 20cm tall. This is great news because I looove long tall plants. It's nuts how many large plants you've got. I definitely have bought my sansevieria for life so hopefully they can all mature, but it's kind of a shame how rare it is here.

I agree the majority of the Sans that are offered in the stores are really young and immature... the bacularis seemed to get taller rather quickly... so you shouldn't have too long before it's a nice size... I read they can get up to 6 feet tall with excellent care... so even mine is still a baby 😀 something to look forward too 😀

@@PlantzNThings Exciting! I live in a rather 'dark' area though, with very little sun. So I have to be patience. However I did invest in some lovely grow lights and full spectrum lights, we'll see how they react on it.

How is your whales fin snake plant doing? I’m still hoping to own one someday. A nursery sold me what they claimed was a young pup, only to become a baseball bat variety called Hallii. So disappointing! Your whale’s fin has fascinated me! Thank you, Bill.

Hi Bill👋I have a cylindrical sansevieria like yours with nice upright growth, however it always gets yellow leaves, I guess it must be underwatered or too much sunlight? I'm growing a big Kalanchoe tomentosa, it's indoors for winter and it flowered last summer😌🙏💞I also have a huge clump of masoniana😊It's such a huge plant, oh my gosh! It hasn't flowered yet, but just grows a lot in summer. I enjoyed watching your video🤲🌟

My cylindrica got yellow leaves from too much sun early in the spring/summer... u didn't acclimate it well enough...lol I would love to see photos of your tomentosa and masoniana if you use Instagram or Facebook.
