Let's Learn English! Topic: Water! 🌊🚰 Free English Class!
It seems like such a simple topic for an English lesson, but I was surprised how many words and phrases I found as I was planning this class. In this English class I'll help you learn English words and phrases to talk about water, one of the most important resources on the planet.
You'll learn words like potable, freshwater, evaporation, precipitation, pump, and more! Once again this will be much more than a simple English vocabulary lesson. I'll be sure to speak extensively about each word and to give many example phrases along the way that you can use when you speak English.
I hope you enjoy this free English class about water! Have a great day!
⌛ Remember: Always watch the video three times. Twice today with English subtitles on, and once tomorrow with the English subtitles off. This will reinforce the English you have learned!

*The Difference between Ponds and Lakes* From a couple of sources in English (it's hard to say which country the authors represent): 1) Lakes are bigger than pounds. 2) Ponds are shallow enough to support rooted aquatic plants, lakes could be without such plants. 3) In ponds sunlight can reach to the bottom of the water bed, lakes are much deeper. 4) In lakes, waves 🌊 can roll up to the coastline, and ponds are too small for this. From a couple of sources in Russian (addition): 5) Ponds are artificial structures built for economic purposes (fish farming, watering), lakes are natural reservoirs. 6) The water in the ponds is only fresh, in lakes could be fresh, salty and hybrid. 7) In winter, ponds are usually frozen, but lakes are not frozen. [ Welcome to Russia!☃️ For warm countries, this *does not hold water* .] 8) Ponds are filled with rain and melt water, while lakes are mostly replenished with groundwater. 9) There is stagnant water in ponds, slow current in lakes.

Hello teacher Bob i agree with you, seas are small areas of an ocean, there are no sharp differences between seas and oceans:Sise, depth, generally seas are enclosed by land masses.I live in Spain,in Andalusia in theSouth ,near of Atlanlantic Ocean (30 Kilometers) and Mediterranean sea (80 KM) near of Streat of Gibraltar that connects the Ocean to the Sea.

We have a well but we also need a water pump to get water out of it. It is an old well, though. In yesteryears, my grandparents had a well from where we could pull water out in baskets and it was a nice chore to us as children hence we could help a bit our grandparents by pulling water out from the well in baskets how many times we visited them.

Thanks. I wish I could visit the forest with the swamp what you mentioned. In Bolivia, you can find an area where there are hills made out of salt and when it is raining, ponds form and the whole area is like a big mirror.

That would look really cool. I like the look of swamps too, but I hear in places like Florida in the U.S. there are alligators in swamps. I'm a bit scared of alligators. 🚰💦😎

Hello, teacher Bob. I've learned alot of new vocabulary from this topic. May God bless you so you can help many people learning english.
Hi Bob! Thank you so much as always:) I'd be grateful if you do video on fire, how to say "to make a fire (all variations)" and all kind of things related to fire and just vocabulary (all words, expressions, and phrases) on topic "in a forest (for surviving)" and things like that. You'd help a lot Bob!! :)

@@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian OK, thank you Bob! Your lessons are awesome! I'd be extremely grateful if you do them in detail, if you tell about all things related to them as well. For example what a person can do with the help of fire and all those things! Oh, also I'd be grateful if you bring up a river, how is it called when a person is in a river and he falls down becouse of slippery stone and the river starts moving him and how to say all these things correctly, and kind of basic different situations and cases that can happen, and how to describe them in detail and correctly, becouse this is the most difficult part in foreign language. Bob, again I'd be grateful! :)

i think potable water comes from pot. when we water boiled to use pot and also brew tea and coffee in the pot. that's why people prefer use clear safe and pure water to drink and boiled. maybe potable water means boileable.

In your opinion, is it safe to swim in the lake / pond?
Hello teacher Bob . I do appreciate your work . You are a great teacher. I tried to ask you during the live stream but I couldn't use the link . I know that Canada is the richest country with water . Does this fact make Canada an agrecultral country ?

Hi Bob i have a question. In Canada you drink water from faucet? O buy the bottle water..thanks
@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian

We do both, depending on where you live. If you live in a town or city you drink water from the tap (faucet). If you live out in the country like me you get water from your local town in jugs. 🚰💦😎

hi bro
Thanks Bob for this topic " water." This is interesting topic for our daily life because water is number one essential for us. I believe we can survive our life even water only, but if we have solid food and without water I am pretty sure that' s very difficult and it's possible has killed immediately. Kudus to your channel! I learned a lot from you. Indeed!
My big daughter speaks sometimes like a waterfall. I am astonished, that you do not have safe water from a tap. So You are always forced to carry the heavy water bottles. I live on the fourth level and that would be a problem for me. OK. Here and there I buy some bottles of sparkling water.
What's the names of waters I can ask to a restaurant?
