Let's Learn English! Topic: Sad Things 😥 (Lesson Only)

In this English lesson I'll help you learn how to talk and write about sad things in English. It won't be the happiest lesson, but it will be a good lesson. I thought it would be a good topic because it is January in Canada and the days are short and the nights are long. Due to current restrictions, we're also not allowed to go out right now. This made me think it would be a good time to teach an English class about sad things as it is a bit of a sad time.
I'll help you learn English words and phrases to talk about divorce and separation, missing someone and getting older. I'll also make sure to teach common English phrases along with the vocabulary words.
I hope you enjoy the English lesson. Have a great day!
✅ The slides to go with this lesson can be found right here: docs.google.com/document/d/1H...
⌛ Remember: Always watch the video three times. Twice today with English subtitles on, and once tomorrow with the English subtitles off. This will reinforce the English you have learned!

No one wants to be sad but this is life. No other teachers have ever taught me that many real life vocabularies in the subject of sad. These vocabularies are very useful for me. I can explain how I feel and can express my feelings to others. I really appreciate your lesson. Thank you so much

When i was in school , it was extremely hard for me to have a family , work eigth hours and taking classes in the evening. Fortunately , i never failed a class , but two times i earn a C . It not only made me sad , but it made me so angry because i worked so hard and i felt as an insult to have that so low score in my records.

Thank you for a great lesson. What’s the place of the word ‘ redundant’ in the topic of discussion the job loss? What’s the emotional meaning of ‘fired’? My understanding is that being fired used in context when someone loses his job for a reason of offense. ‘ letting go’ associated with redundancy. One loses a job because of the staff reduction, for instance.

Mr. Bob : don't be sorry for sharing a sad lesson with us. In life we need to learn from everything , even if it is about sadness. At the same time we have the opportunity to share our feelings and explain ourselves of how we feel about the lesson. As for me it is also as a kind of emotional therapy.

Ofcourse , talking about sadness is not a nice think to talk about. Distance as some many other reasons make us so sad. For the time being , im so sad. My viejito , as i call my husbad , has been for three months in a hospital. I feel that my home is so empty and it is so depressing ro see him liening him down on a bed unable to get up. Unfortunately, he has to be there untill he will be ready to come back home.
