    You should add a air fitting to the new battery panel and tie it to the onboard air tanks. You can air up the truck without needing the on board air compressors or pre-fill them so the compressor doesn't need to work at start up.

    @kevinklein959

    Or put a switch on the compressors and turn them on after you start the truck, that way you have the trucks charging system helping with the draw from the compressors.

    @@kevinklein959 He did that didn't he? My thinking is that with them filled you are ready to drive. Since the truck runs rough at idle and parked long stretches it could spare a few extra cranking amps. Needed? No, just another backup idea. =)

    One more idea I've had, since working in a semi shop with full airbrake/suspension systems, you could add a shop air fitting to the remote connections so you can manually fill the air tank from the outside, even with a little pancake compressor on an inverter you could get enough emergency air to lift the bags from the outside

    Great show as always . Easy foolproof solution for your air compressors. Install momentary switch and a latching relay for your pump power. Nothing happens when you power on the key, but hit the momentary switch and the relay powers itself to stay on and power your compressors. When you key off the relay will shut off. Foolproof 👍👍

    Sweet ride Finn. Reminds me of my friend's and their 13B powered Mazda 2200, and another guy's Izusu Pup back around 1990. I got a tip for you and your viewers. Almost everyone installs amps in their vehicles these days. Use a larger cable size than you really need. Install a ground block and a power distribution block. And providing you haven't shave the door locks and handles, you can hook you battery charger or jumper cables directly to those blocks on your amp rack. Of course a 2 gauge Anderson plug, behind the grill so you can access it without opening the hood, does wonders too. Keep on trucking Bro, you got this.

    Dremel with a little death wheel, or even a little metal saw wheel attachment is a must have tool for cutting plastics, you can sculpt in anything you want, use a lighter to clean the edges. I have mine on a flexible extension, which has been amazing for reaching difficult spots. I even threw a carbide bit in it and was able to clearance an engine block casting, with the engine in the car.

    38:53 man. What a connection I didn’t realize we shared. I started as a wholesale automotive electronics tech. People now a days have no idea what it was like. Cars came with no ac, no cruise control not radios or speakers. And we did it on the dealers lot and we had to make due with what we had. Which bothered my ocd but I’ll tell you being forced to be creative like that really opens your eyes to how everything works. I swear it get a cavalier for a head unit and 4 plus antenna. My boss would hand me a head unit a piece of and plastic a handful of radio back straps but not all for the radio lol. He would use any size speaker we had in stock. So just because your door could fit a 5 1/4 wi stuffed in 4” two way speakers. In dealer lots I honestly cut roofs and installed sunroofs and reupholstered headliners. We installed afermartkket ac and cruise controls as well as full body kits it wa the 90z plus spoilers running boards remote starters window tint even full leather upholstery upgrade like katskins out of either my old car or a company mini truck we had tacomas. They were hooked up nice. But working like that either makes you a bad hack or it makes you the best installer snd troubleshooter! I went from cars to commercial cctv, security and fire alarm. It was so closely related to car stuff. Except for the running wires and mounting and cutting on walls. That elevate you to a legit master tech. I went from like 28k per year doing wholesale car audio dealt work to I stalling insane systems in biotech factories airports hospitals etc making at the time like 2007-2015 I made upwards of $125k per year all from car electronics. Unfortunately I was injured and forced to retired 😢. Im glad to watch all you do because it reminds me I can do anything. Except use my right arm as intended.

    Pop the hood find a good ground then hook to the positive cable on the battery side of the starter relay. That will feed power to the battery through a cable that should be large enough to handle it and you should be able to to air the truck up and possibly start it. I’m not super familiar with Toyotas so I’m not sure how accessible that wire is but we use that method on a lot of stuff that you can’t get to the battery very easily.

    I would suggest evening out your bumper box installation by putting in an extra air chuck connector for your air bag compressor, on the opposite side of the bed from the battery terminals. It would give you the option of having remote air for pumping tires, OR to externally pump up your reserve tank when your battery dies, so that you can move the car around when you don't want to (or can't) start the engine.

    Two mods you need. 1. Outside fitting to lift the truck. Super easy mod, you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't. 2. When you park it, you should have 4 mini-stands that you can throw under the car so it doesn't rest on the stops, which in air systems is never good. For your welding skills, this is a weekend project.

    Man I remember back in the 90s these things were everywhere and half the show at NOPI nats would be these trucks. Just about every car club had at least one or more of these things. Airbags didn't really take off till the early 2000s and everyone just slammed them on blocks, coilovers, or just cut the springs. It was not a fun time to be a police officer. From the Southlake Mall - AMC theatre strip all the way down to Atlanta Motor Speedway was nothing but mini trucks, mustangs, and hondas in various stages of dilapidation and bondo. Every intersection had burnout marks and someone was making 9 grand pulls with 150hp everywhere you went. The sounds of cheap high airflow intakes and even cheaper straight pipe exhausts filled the night air on the weekends.

    In the future a second battery under the hood with a $100 charge regulator would be the cats ass. I had similar in my truck with a camper and it would isolated the starting battery and allow the alternator charge it and when full would switch to the second battery and charge it. Bad ass mini truck!

    The whole time you were using that small drill as an end mill, I was looking over your right shoulder at the milling machine... Thinking to myself ''Self, he doesn't have an 1/8" end mill to use on that plastic. :) Also, back in the early 90's I don't know how many speaker holes I had to cut with nothing but tin snips back then. Mini trucks were easy. It was the rear decks of 60's Impalla's and 70's Cadillacs that were a NIGHTMARE. We didn't have power or air at Jimmy's Car Stereo in Auburn Al.

    That box looked excellent. I would've added an air fitting to prefill the tanks with shop air in an emergency situation.

    Me personally, I'd run an extra cable off the positive post on the starter. Ground. Then use a super clean Anderson power pole connector hidden under the hood. No cutting of your freshly painted truck.

    Should make a box on the other end with air compressor connection to the air tank so you could fill the air system also if you would need to

    would be easy enough to just add another fitting to that box, use a female like a normal air hose connection, could actually plug in and use truck air for tools (likely would never happen) but it also it seals without adding a valve, jack into it to air up truck with a double ended male
