So we found a well on the property, now what?
Someone put a lot of time and effort into the well, so we need to get it working for us. Getting running water at Everstoke would be a game changer, especially if we could drink from it!

It's probably drinkable now. Get a sample and take it to get tested. Rust indicates that it is made of iron. Iron is fine.

Yeah that confused me as if PVC was a better option? As long as it isn’t lead. Spend that PVC money on a filter.
I love how you watched a whole bunch of videos and boiled everything into one video, thanks for sharing all details of your journey!
I love that well! It's so amazing having running water now. It will be interesting to see if we can drink it.

Minus anything really odd, such as arsenic as described above, I'll be surprised if it's not drinkable with a basic filtration system. You wouldn't have to filter all of it...just what you intend to drink, which shouldn't be a huge deal. I'm betting that water, even with the old pipe, will test to be OK even without filtration. I bet you guys already know, based on the delayed video release timeline!! :-)
When Aaron told me he stumbled on to that well I was thinking you guys just struck gold. I'm stoked to see it's actually a really good one.
The foam around the pipe was genius!
Absolutely loving this "behind the scenes" type Everstoke content! as a DIYer I'm loving all the nitty gritty details and macgyvering!
Three things: If you are getting pressure at the top (artisan), you should hook that up to buried ag tank and float valve, so that you can get some water into reservoir without power; 2) they make solar pumps submersible pumps that can push 140' and still have good head in the pipe; 3) if you are worried about drinking the water, just take a sample to local testing lab - an "old rusty pipe" is more taste than safety thing, but high ground arsenic would be an issue that a new well wouldn't take care of.
Re-binge watching Redemption 17 playlist in between episodes….great times!
Hi Brian. You did a KZread or two with my son Jon from Reno. The well advice I have seen is good. I would add several thoughts. 1. Use a stainless steel cable instead of a rope. Make sure the connections to the cable are all stainless as well. Attach the surface end to something big that cannot fit into the well. This way you will have a reliable way to retrieve the pump. 2. Like others have said, get the water tested. Arsenic can be common in wells in California and Nevada. It is probably ok but better safe than dead. 3. Dig down the outside on your well pipe several feet on one of the sides. See if there is still rust. Chances are likely that the pipe will be fine. 4. We have a well with a 6inch casing. It was only about 110 feet deep and would start sucking water. We found a well man that put a 4 inch casing down inside the 6 inch casing and extended the depth another 100 feet. He was able to drive the top of the 4 inch casing down to 100 feet into the existing well so the 4 inch piping charge was only for 100 feet resulting in for 200 foot well. It was a little tricky getting the well pump past the jog in pipe diameter at 100 feet but a little rotating and jostling got the pump down to 200 feet. We have had plenty of water over the past 20 years. If you have questions Jon can get you in touch with me.
Fantastic news on the well!!! I just came out of the woods/lake from a 10 day stay. We are lucky to pull our water from the lake (not drinkable) via pump etc.
Heck yes! Loving the progress and organization!
Yes victory Water water and more water. Do please make a garden pond so the animals can have water, Big fan here and thank you so much for sharing your projects. You are a total inspiration Brian.
wow!!!! even exciting to watch. super stoked you found a well and getting water out of it. Congrats
Following the progress you’re doing on your land and they’re fun to watch, love it. Stay safe you guys (Brian and co.)
Brian, these videos are absolutely fantastic. I love watching you guys do your thing, and it's so fun an inspiring to watch each part start to work. Keep doing your thing!
Really enjoying these videos of creating your mountain bike park! You guys are awesome, and your progress is amazing. Love the critter cam side trips too! Happy trails!
Keep up the awesome job!!! Can’t wait for the the final results 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This video is about a very deep subject. But in the end, all's well that ends well!
Wow so exciting love the progress yall r doing !!
Amazing series
Dude, so impressed with what you guys are doing!
Hey Brian love the videos and just wanted to say thanks. I haven't owned a mtb in 20 years and that was a TREK 8000 but now because of your inspiration just purchased a brand new 2021 Stumpjumper and am looking forward to seeing how far I can push myself and learn and explore so again thank you
Well well well, congrats on another victory!
cool stuff brian, can't wait to see where thhis journey takes you
Great Project Brian Love all the Footage 💥💥💥
I love these videos, I loved the riding too but these are great.
I am sure it is all fine. Looks really good. I personally don't like plastic soaking in my drinking water. Worst of all is the tape.
You tube pro now bro .congrats on the well .good to see.really enjoy watching the progression .good stuff.
Good stuff guys Love ya work Jim from NZ
Nice. Sure a lot folks rootin' for ya. Whata find with water already on the property. Lookin' forward to next post. Congrats again on wedding.
I cant wait to go here. I am new to MTB I am going to practice in the small trails down in south Florida so I can go ride this one day.
Huge win
Congrats on the well 💦
Very exciting.
Good Luck Mate !!🤘🤘👍
Nice content Brian 😃👍 keep it coming 🙏
nice work!!
Those low heat solder splices are awesome
You should have enough pressure to get a small filtration system. We use Clear Source. They have a triple filter system. That would get you perfect drinking water ASAP.
Great series. Show the trail next to driveway next!
Very interesting!
Hey Brian! Congrats on your accomplishments thus far on the property. Super excited for you and your brand. I can see little cabins for mountain biking enthusiasts and your dreams coming true. On a side note, I work in water purification and disinfection (residential, commercial, pharmaceutical, ultra pure and dialysis water as you may remember. I can help guide you through the easy but sometimes confusing steps that have to be taken to know what your dealing with and how to get to your end result with ease of headache and financial mistakes. Let me know if ya need me.
awesome man! i'm wicked jealous, hahaha. can't wait to have property of my own to mess around on like this. so cool. :)
Love the films😊

You can install a solar pump system that would pump water into a overhead tank. Iron well casing not going to kill you so save your money on that and like others have mentioned, get your water tested.
Fun video. I was thinking if you haven’t been watching for awhile you’d have no idea this was a mountain bike channel. “Welcome to another episode of ‘Well Diggers.’ On today’s episode, we dig a well.”
Get a water test done on a sample from your well. It's so exciting when you have a water source that works well. Congratulations.
Road to 1M subscriber! Let's go!

Well done men!👊👊👊😎😎😎🍺🍺🍺
You can rent an open air (no well cap) or capped water transducer to monitor the water level during testing, I often rent from pine environmental. Transducer can be connected to phone app or to laptop/tablet for logging and monitoring. If you go with the open air transducer, you will need to install a barometric transducer as well so that you can adjust for barometric pressure when calculating water head (height of water in well). Also, check for historical well records on your property online, may even be another well out there!
Go-pro the lock!!!
Well done MacGyver :)
My well was shallow at 70 ft but it as steel cased and had no issues with it. No need to replace if its safe. Get it tested.
I wanna see you drop the GoPro down it!
That @silvercymbal guy reviews some pretty useful stuff.
nice one my friend haha
Brian...if you're ever back inn Downieville and want to show someone the ropes let me know...please lol.
Make a little pond/dam away from camp for the animals to drink at would be nice for filming them and giving back to nature
I may have missed it but have you had the water tested? Great video guys!
put a gopro camera inside. you can check if there are holes in the casing (steel pipe in the well) and actually see if 213’ is the Total depth or just the top of the debris inside the well. you will also be able to see the fluid level. high fluid level = high pressure = good

There's no way someone installed a 200+' well without well screens. I'd assume a hydrologic study was performed and the well screens are properly located within the aquifer. And he doesn't need to measure depth to water because he knows it: it's zero! That's the great thing about an artesian well. He hit proverbial gold - unless the water's highly contaminated.
Soo now Brain and Everstoke are well-thy. 😂😂
That is so cool. Very happy for you guys. Everyone says test test test. How does it taste?
Hi from Philippines ride safe
Great video! Can you give some infos on the 12v pump you used at first? Which model that was? Would be interesting for our 12v solar system.
I have a buddy with some rough land in Massachusetts. He leased out some acers to a solar company. They cleared the land and built a solar field. He gets paid for it but he also gets free power. It was just a 10 year lease. I'm not sure if this would work on your property, or if such a deal could be made for you, but I thought I'd share the info incase it's something you'd want to look into.
the thumbnail :D
Once it starts raining again your Artesian well will recharge a little quicker.
Hey man, have you looked into the water rights for the parcel?
Here in Australia artisan water is either salty or too heavy with minerals
hanapa’a!!
The WiFi Garden days coming in handy for this project, huh?
TWO13 trail name right there
hey if you deinsulate wire there are *awesome* products 1. the knipex preci strip is the bust you can get , but about 80€ in europe or the jokari one is also verry good as long as you dont go to small with your cable and for 11€ you can buy one even if u only use it once and its one size fits most and automatic adjusting

You should build water tower used telephone poles and 1000 gallon live stock tank place them around your property too earagate and fight fire put tin roof on and gutters when it dose rain you will harvest it
LOL you could have just found out who drilled it and reached out to them for all the info lol!!! :)
The question is, will the artesian well keep up with the pump? You could just hook the artesian output to a large water tank, then use an on demand pump after that. That way you don't have to run it dry and chance it not coming back.
Why not just do a composting toilet instead of doing a whole expensive septic system? Also you can drink that water if you use a Berkey filter or if you get it tested.

@@baddriversofcolga that’s the problem with “first class” demographics. They tend to do some everyday tasks backwards. Not to mention you can have flush toilets that still expel into a vermiculture (worms) pit and they dispose of the waste much better than a septic/leach field.
DUDE! YOU ARE JHONNY SINS OMG
Progress...
About 65meter deep, in case you were wondering what he was talking about with those funny made up measurements
You should have attached a GoPro on the measuring tape.
What happened to working with "metric" system for everything property wise?
Haha what happened to only using metric measurements on the property ? Is it hard to find a metric tape that long over there?
Well drilling gets expensive when water is deep or can't be found. You should be fine.
Would you say you're everstoked about the well? What happened to only using the metric system?
Any plans to collect Rainwater already?
Name that well Old Faithful.
So when does "Invite People" happen? 😉
How's that metric going? 😁
Wrap that waterline so it's bear proof!
we were promised metric units!!!
You boys go a scrum board going out in the woods.

Yeah but really think about it this is the goal and the dream coming to life. Instead of just go out and ride trails that others built now he is working on creating his own trail that one day all people will be able to enjoy.. Everything is a process and as humans that we are, we are always looking for innovation.

@@vladimirgutierrez7689 , Brian's trail building on his new property is fine, but he should mix it up. This is like the tenth consecutive property video. There are many trails in the area he's at.
