I wish Tamiya would update their older re release kits and new kits to have battery trays that will accommodate regular sized 2s and 3s Lipo packs. It's such a pain to have to source a lipo pack from a company and not be able to use it in a Grasshopper chassis. Also, I wish they would include full ball bearings in all their kits (especially the high end ones).

Great video, and great vehicle...and, now I'm considering getting one. Regarding the diffs, there is always a third option, which is the direction I'd probably go - lock the rear, but keep the front 'open, albeit, with a super-high viscosity (say, 1M, or higher) diff fluid. However, before I order, I have some questions. First, regarding the trans, is there a metal gear option...and, if so, do you know the part number(s)? Second, I noticed you used the stock plastic links/trailing arms. Is there a metal (stainless steel?) option...and, again, if so, might you know the parts numbers? Finally, in addition to the 'Hop-Up' parts you mentioned in this video, are there any other Hop-Ups you'd say are "necessary/required"...and, are there any others that might not be "necessary/required", but that you might highly recommend? In building my second TT-02, I spent approximately two months accumulating Hop-Ups...so, obviously, I don't mind having to wait to start the build. For every kit I've built, while there are always certain upgrades that can be done "at a future point in time", there are always certain upgrades that really NEED to be done during the initial build. As such, I prefer to have as complete a list of 'upgrades' as possible, so as to determine which are absolutely required during the initial build, and which can be installed "at a later point in time". Anyway, keep up the fantastic job. I might be "on the other side of the pond", but I also know who to "tune into" for great RC-related info.

I’m building the same Unimog but I’m having trouble find a steering servo. Does anyone have a name or a part number one the correct one? The space were the servo is only 47-49mm wide. Thank you.

Does the cr01 85mm driveshafts fits for unimog cc02s short wheelbase setup? I heard there is another driveshaft specific for short wheelbase 75mm length.

Some people like to upgrade a kit even if it’s not being used that much. Some people like to collect RC cars in boxes and never build them. It’s all down to what makes you happy and personal taste.
