Let's Actually Play Minecraft Again: 10 Years Later

Ойындар

I've not played Minecraft properly in 10 Years. The version I took my time with was when horses were new, back in 2013. So Let's Play Minecraft again
I've now made this a series! You can watch my entire Minecraft Let's Play in order here: • RTGame Minecraft Let's...
There was a time on KZread where everyone uploaded Minecraft Let's Plays, but creators moved on to heavily modded scenarios or large multiplayer servers. I feel like it's been a long time since a creator sat down and experienced Minecraft for what it is, without the need for some elaborate set dressing. So that's what I wanted to do. Since it's been a over 10 years since I played Minecraft normally, I thought that might offer a unique perspective that anyone who hasn't played in a while can resonate with. I've done many Minecraft streams and videos on my channel, but these have been massive multiplayer build scenarios or events. I grew up watching older Minecraft playthroughs like the Yogscast.
If you enjoy this video, I recommend that you boot up Minecraft and play it again, especially if you haven't in a while. Thank you!

I absolutely love how Dan has been playing the game. - He took the time to build a house and surrounding area that he liked - He almost always walks, only running if there’s a specific reason to - He’s the only one I’ve ever watched to actually read the end credits poem I’ve watched a million and one minecraft let’s plays, and in the era of speedrunning and Hermitcraft, nothing seems more innovative and exciting to me than just seeing someone take it slow. And if that someone is Rumble Tumble Game, then all the better.

you should check out piropitos lets play then! piropito is a japanese horror artist who had never even seen someone play before his lets play, and during it he never checks a wiki, and only asks for clues once to a friend. its really cool seeing him struggle against problems we dont consider because weve seen a hundred youtubers do the most efficient thing, yet he always perseveres. his 'naivety' of the game gives him great creativity, and he ends up doing so much. he defdated the ender dragon and learned to use the elytra, defeated an elder guardian, etc. and yeah he still walks around gleefully :)

I barely comment on anything because I generally don't like publicly posting things online, but after like five years of not saying anything on this website, I'm making an exception. I finished watching this video yesterday. A week before today, my only close friend told me he doesn't want to associate with me anymore, and i've struggled to take a restful break without thinking about him. I went to take a walk, went to a café, drove to a big city and went to a museum and got ice cream with my family, played my cello, and tried to do so many things to get myself to rest. And yet the only thing that made me truly feel calm the way he used to and made me stop thinking about him (without me trying to suppress my thoughts) was this silly little minecraft video. When I realized that last night, my face was just stuck in a permanent smile for a while :D I cry a lot so this doesn't say much, but I ended up crying tears of joy after you finished reading the end poem. It's as if that got me to finally believe that I'll be fine without him in a while 🥹 and the universe said i love you and the universe said you have played the game well and the universe said everything you need is within you and the universe said you are stronger than you know and the universe said the darkness you fight is within you and the universe said the light you seek is within you and the universe said you are not alone There's probably no way Dan is going to read this, but I've been subscribed for years. While going through some of the toughest periods of my life, I've had your videos to fall back on and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making content that makes me feel this way ❤

The end poem is really special for me, I had next to no knowledge when my friends asked me to download Minecraft and join them. I was really clueless(i barely played any other first person games at that time ) but they were kind enough to help me learn the basic and eventually get the hang of it. Eventually after a fairly long time they wanted to go fight the ender dragon, I was nervous but I knew it was going to be interesting to try, It did go very well and I felt really good because it was one of the only boss fights I had until then in any game. When the end poem popped up my friends weren’t very interested but I was curious because it was my first time. and to this day I don’t think I ever felt as much emotion as I did then, the music combined with the poem and the joy of the moment never made my heart so full and my eyes bawl so much, and I will forever feel joy looking to this moment of reading the end poem. I enjoyed watching you so much as if it was me taking my first steps in the game and thank you for taking a moment to read the end poem. ❤

I've been a long, long time fan of the channel Dan. I almost never make streams, cause it's not my sorta media, but I don't miss a single video here. You've been with me through all of college, my first (and hard) work years, and now, at a happier moment of my life, and in all of those times I really feel like your content has brought me joy, and even a sense of hope, a spark of magic in life, as if everytime I come to see a vid, I'm backseating with an old pal, a sense I can't really get since I've lived alone for most of my life. Yet you, an Irish man on the other side of the world makes videos like this, that make me feel like I have a community to be a part of, that it's alright to be as I am, even if it's not as my society ussually approves, because you are an example of being kind, honest, taking life at your pace. I don't know how to exactly explain it, but this video feels like the sum of all that, of a spark of magic in life, that I'll always be able to come back to whenever I need an extra boost to my morale. Thanks Dan, for everything. You're a good man.

@@bigjedimullet Twelve definitely focuses more on the Doctor's alien side, hence his more asocial and sarcastic dialogue and personality. Personally I quite liked it, especially since the peak of the Doctor's more human side for me (at least in the modern series) was with Ten, so by contrast it felt like a breath of fresh air, rather than trying and failing to capture lightning in a bottle again with Eleven. Twelve starts off in a rough state and there are a few episodes of his that are pretty ehhh, but I think overall the quality of the writing on display was great with how the tone is brought to a darker and more philosophical place while also not abandoning the show's inherent weirdness and comedy.

Reminds me of the days when i was a kid where i set up an anvil in the End, and quite literally enchanted a diamond sword with every single applicable enchantment (creative mode). Then proceeded to kill the Ender Dragon with it thinking i was the most badass kid EVER. I didnt know until a year ago that enchantments do literally nothing to the ender dragon. Bless my little kid brain.

i can already tell this is one of my favorite videos of this year. and i loved that he actually stopped to read the credit sequence and give it some pause rather than just skipping past it and assuming it was a dumb joke so many others do. i think they're afraid to wonder if the dialogue at the end of the game is actually supposed to mean something, or that there is importance that can be gleaned from its writings. no matter how silly, fun or inconsequential a game or any other piece of media might seem, it can be important, and it can teach you valuable things. minecraft will forever be one of my all-time favorite games.

This is honestly really refreshing to watch- nostalgic even. This is what the Minecraft community was founded on- the good feels that come from exploring a world for the first time, learning about everything there is to see through trial and error, collecting materials, solving problems by means of using common resources in unconventional ways, burying mobs in holes, fighting mobs through holes in the cave floor instead of dropping down like a God gamer and obliterating it with fancy combat techniques. People nowadays take that for granted about this game, because now that same generation understands everything about it. We all know how to optimally mine for ores, fight monsters, craft items, what biomes are the best, and now the game has changed to an algorithm from what it once was; a simple little block game where you can build the shittiest looking wizard tower in the universe and call it home because YOU made it. You created something that never has and likely never will exist again, and the memories that go alongside it. THIS is the game we grew up on- not highly technical redstone computers, scripted SMPs, manhunts, $10k tournaments, arguing about mob votes, or any of the sort. THIS is what the core of Minecraft is, and we may not ever get to experience that again.

Recently been bumping the Minecraft soundtrack, and it’s got me thinking about how detached modern Minecraft content is from the experience of just playing the game. You’ve got stuff like “I built some crazy thing in modded Minecraft hardcore survival part 53” and then you’ve got stuff like this, where it’s genuinely just playing the game. And honestly I miss the simplicity of just a good old fashioned play through a lot.

Speaking of the soundtrack, I don't care what anyone says, I love the newer tracks by the Celeste composer.
