I've been waiting over 30 yrs to see this broadcast. Heard it back on Jan 31, 1982 on the waves of the Voice of America.. in my appartment in Cracow. Behind the window sound of Soviet made tanks and APC's.. and you don't realize how much hope and strenght this message was giving us.. just knowing that we were not alone.. Thank you Mr President... out of all US Presidents You probably understood our nation most..

ZSRR przyniósł nam wolność od hitleryzmu dał nam inspiracje do bezprecedensowych w historii reform społecznych i ogromnego skoku cywilizacyjenego, a my to kretyńsko nazywamy okupacją.

@Tommy Vercetti Do początku lat 2000ych nadrabialiśmy zapóźnienie do jakich doprowadziły nas solidaruchy.
Wow, history repeats itself in Hong Kong. What a moving video.

Poles had a special place in British hearts? C'mon.. Polish soldiers were not invited to Victory Parade in London after 2nd ww, because Stalin forced it... Even French soldiers were there

The vast majority of the British general public is and were very pro-Polish. The UK government backstabs everyone in the end (including the British public and even themselves). Although the UK government failed the Polish people in the 1940s - not like they had a choice they were broke and the industry and housing had been severely bombed - the British public remained pro-Polish. Many people in the UK say that if Polish pilots didn't fight in the B of B then the British Commonwealth would have lost and sued for peace.

@@alanboyd8416Yeah. Sometimes people equate the decisions a government makes with the general public. The British government may have failed Poland but the sentiment among the British general public is different.
