Just read your post. I think can help, at least through the grace of God this has helped me many many times. Have faith, it will help you also. First, letting go of the past was a giant in my life. It disrupted EVERYTHING from the way you deal with people and even the way you interact with God. So the reason I saw your comment, and, the reason I am here today and the reason you were here yesterday is not a coincidence Priscila. Find a place alone. You have to say nothing. Here we go. Hold your hands cupped together in your lap as you sit. Imagine your giant in a few words as this is all it deserves. Now let this giant fall into your cupped hands in your lap. Raise your arms and cupped hands out in front of you. Open your hands and let this giant fall. You have now placed your giant at the feet of Christ. Lower arms and now in turn become a blessing for someone else my friend. Through Gods love for you may your life be blessed.

P.S. make sure All unforgiveness is handled before praying any kind of deliverance prayers over yourselves! (If unforgiveness remains, deliverance won't be granted. Remember Jesus tells us that if we do not forgive others of their trespasses, our Father in heaven will not grant forgiveness to us in our trespasses! Plus, unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die!) Keep the faith the healing is coming! Whether it is instant or progressive, healing is coming to yalls family! Alot of my past is connected to self, the flesh (including many religious teachings and pride). Most of my pain from the past is reaping what was sown. I now fully repent and surrender, like the prodigal son, confessing my sin of not doing everything God's Way by the Holy Spirit. He runs toward His Own who return to Him in repentance.

This is something I'm struggling with as well brother :/ I'm sorry to hear. It's like an additional guilt added on top of the other thing and it just really sucks. I try to remember to remain grateful that He kept anything else from happening and with Him now, you have a second chance that many people don't often get. I'm sure you've punished yourself more than enough. You can still be/are a good person. We all make mistakes that we can't take back. Use it to grow closer to Him and become better. You are new in Him, the old you is dead. Praying for you bro

Knowing what I know now, I definitely wish I could have come to Christ in a less painful and disastrous way. But you also have to remember, Jesus didn't come down to save the righteous and good, He came to save those who are broken. Also, whatever it is that you did was the catalyst for change. It's a whole cause and effect thing. Change doesnt happen unless something causes it. I know, at least for me, I've accepted that what happened needed to happen in order for me to have started my walk with Christ. I had to come to him in my brokenness. Just gotta be real with yourself, would the you, before your mistake, have even considered God? Praying for you brother

@@dylan6996 Something that helps me remind myself of His promise is this verse (2 Corinthians 5:17): Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new... The person I was before coming to Christ is dead. Do I still have to live with the knowledge and effects of what I did? Yea...But no longer will I let that dictate my self worth. I screwed up, we all do. I am remorseful, and I can sense you are as well. You want to change and be better. Roll with that. I know its hard some days to not unintentionally punish yourself, but just take it day by day. Read, meditate and Journal on the Word. And do your best to apply it into your daily life. Before doing or saying things, ask yourself if this is something you could picture Jesus saying or doing. And be kind to yourself. Growing in your faith will take time so dont sweat trying to be perfect. Just do your best.

I’m struggling so hard with this. My husband of 19 years brings up my past very often. He constantly reminds me about things I did or how I lived my life or how lame I was because I was a poor single mother…. Things I did 20-30+ years ago. So the memories stay fresh in my mind and I carry around loads of shame. I can barely stand it. How do I deal with this? I want to stop dwelling in the past daily in my head!!

My heart breaks for you, Gretel. Sending prayers your way. 🙏🏻 For me being a writer lately I’ve been writing down these inspiring, deep, loving visions for myself in my journal. They are memories I wish to have in my future. I’ve written at least 15 so far and read them often. Soon I’ll have enough to start recording them and listening to them. They help me not get lost in the minutia of my life. They help me remember that God’s not done with me yet. There’s a vision I wrote of me getting home from work and getting to hold my 1-year old daughter and bounce her on my knee, and being enfolded in a warm embrace by my wife. There’s one where my wife turned off my computer by accident when I was writing a book (thinking I was done with it) and I didn’t get to save it and lost a lot of work. No malice, only love. That is all she’ll ever get from me. I’d hope that this second episode would not happen, but if it does, I know exactly how I will respond, and I’ve rehearsed it already 100+ times. No, I don’t know when in the heck I’ll ever get married (not dating, and I’m picky as heck) but writing these thought visions has really helped me stay excited for it. I’m confident it’ll come together in time, and for now I rejoice I have time to prepare. I’m in no rush, just building my life, but I am also trusting in the future I believe God is preparing - and writing down these visions and imagining them helps me. Sounds like you have learned a tremendous amount in your parenting journey. I commend you so much for that! Parenting is one of the hardest things anyone can do. Being a single parent is unfathomable to me. I admire your strength. I’m certain there are highlights you can focus on from those times or other times. Writing those down and feeling them again can help you remember who you really are - a diligent, caring woman who is trying her hardest. You write it down once, and you can come back to it for years - it’ll always be there, reminding you and lifting you. Here’s two I came up for you just out of the blue - the first is a past highlight, second is a future vision. These are purely to give you an idea. I obviously don’t know you but I care and hope maybe this helps somewhat. “Patience With My Son, Bobby” “After getting in bed Bobby showed up at my side. He wants to talk to me. I’m tired. Work has been a real struggle. Bobby can take care of himself - he’s 7 and he’s a big boy. But then I thought differently. I imagined Bobby and I saw myself helping him. I looked at those wide brown eyes and knew I needed to do something. So I got out of bed and walked with Bobby back to his room. He told me he’s been feeling lost and doesn’t know what he’s going to do with his life. I reassure him that I will do all I can to help him, that I love him and will support him. Bobby’s smile stays with me. I love that smile. Even though I was stressed before now I sleep soundly - I’m so glad to be Bobby’s mom.” Here’s the second one - “I Know Who I Am” “Charles (my husband) keeps bringing up things from my past. I have let those things go. They don’t define me anyway. I get to decide how I define myself everyday. Charles may look at me as an ant, a has-been, a she-can’t, but I know who I am. I have deep treasures in the midst of my pain I’ve learned so many things - I will trust in my own wings. Charles may want me to stay by the window, small as a fly But I know who I am - and I can always try I can always do new things. I am a champion, with so many rings. So many times I’ve acted in kindness, even despite Charles’ blindness. I know who I am. I know who I am. And this gives me courage to shine. I am Gretel, and my life is mine. I am precious today, tomorrow, and for all time. This is my beat. This is my rhyme. I skip to it. It helps me on my climb.” Perhaps you didn’t want a long comment but I thought I’d share something that’s done wonders for me. I have a very active imagination and writing these visions for myself of how I’d like to be has been quite empowering and encouraging. Praying for you and your family, Gretel!
