I was in school to become a pharmacist. But after taking a microbiology class in my undergrad, I realized that I didn't want that anymore and wanted to become a teacher instead. There was a TON of memorization in that class and that's how pharmacy school is going to be like. I can memorize stuff but I'm not that kind of person. I'm better off with understanding concepts than memorizing. I decided to become a teacher instead because I LOVED high school so much and what a teacher does seems fun: Lesson planning, grading papers, teaching, talking to parents. I think i would love that job. Plus, you get summer off and many other breaks. I'm going to be honest. I get nervous when I speak in front of a group of people and I'm bad at explaining. Even though I have those obstacles, I still want to become a teacher. I don't want to give up because that's such an awesome and fun job. I feel like I woudn't be nervous about me speaking to a group of people because I would be so focused on teaching the material and making sure my students understand it. And if I did feel nervous, I feel like it would go away little by little and get used to it. With explaning, I'm just hoping that I don't have self confidence and that in reality I am good at explaning. And if not, I hope I get to learn to explain well maybe...hopefully because I do really want to become a teacher for high school.

Hi! I loved this video! Planning can be such a daunting task! I love that you use MLK’s I Have a Dream speech! I remember reading and analyzing it in AP English Language in high school because it uses so many rhetorical strategies! He was an amazing writer and of course an amazing man in general. I’m an Elementary teacher but love the calendar idea! I used a planning calendar during teaching but somehow forgot about it in the hubbub of my first few years of teaching.

currently a senior in high school and aspiring teacher. i'm taking a shakespeare's plays class right now and my teacher reminds me so much of you! i've only been in the class fora few weeks but its by far my favorite class i've ever taken and the class i feel like i'm learning the most in. i feel like we really know each other and i trust her with a lot of stuff about myself that i've never felt comfortable telling another adult besides my own mom. i just wanted to leave this comment to let you know that teachers like you guys really leave a lasting impression on us forever

Hey, I‘m an aspiring teacher from Germany ! I know school is completely different here, so could you please do a video about American teacher-life in general ? What did you have to do to become a teacher ? Did you have to settle for a certain subject ? etc. Even though that might sound not very interesting for Americans, I think it would be fun to kinda do a teacher comparison between different countries. :)

Use drama teacher academy. It's a monthly subscription but they have soooo many resources that I have used. It goes on sale to $1 every now and then. But totally worth the $39ish I think.

this video is so helpful! im in 7th grade this year, but I have two options for highschool: my local highschool or a career academy where I can get a teaching degree early and for free. the application process will take all of my eighth grade year so I'm doing some research now and this is quite informative 💕

On the first few days of school I would always get annoyed when teachers gave me “All about me” kinda stuff and didn’t really know why they did it😂 But after I started watching some of your videos I understand what being a teacher is like so much more and why you do those haha😂 I thinks it’s great how you’re trying to create a relationship with all of your students and get to know them. We need more teachers like you😫😂💞💞

Wow, you are so close!!! I will have to come visit! I can definitely do a video all about that, but it all starts with my students. I had a class that loved sports so I created a tournament based on what we were learning--just an example.
