So! Miata is your hobby. Well, it's mine also. I'm on my 4th MX-5. I bought my 1st MX-5 in 2015. It was a 2016, then I bought a '17, then a '19 and back at the end of April bought the one I have now, it's a 2023 MX-5. I put appox. 80k miles on each of them and with this new one, I can't stay out of it. At 78, this is my hobby, just driving a fun car. Back in the '60's I had a '64 MGB and a '66 MGB, loved both of them, up until I was drafted. Got married on Christmas leave, got out of the Army and started raising kids, etc... So, to finish this letter, I am retired and like I said, this car is my hobby now. Keep the videos up as you do things to your Miata, you're video's are fun to watch. Ciaomein.

Love everything Leslie said. She's an inspiration to all aspiring car girls! I just clicked this video because I recently got into cars, Miata's specifically and now I want it as a first car. Still have to convince my dad, and learn more about how to maintain and modify some parts but I'm excited for the journey! She's wasn't lying when she said that people are some serious haters when they hear you want an automatic. I asked the Miata subreddit for advice and they downvoted and shitted on me to oblivion. Think far into the future of owning a miata no matter the generation, its size and being a 2 seater and trunk capacity should be a deciding factor. As much as I enjoy people wanting a miata I also don't want people being disappointed after owning it a short while. It's slow but there are options to change that on a miata

I have an automatic miata! I’m a girl too and it took a long time to convince my parents. I hope you can get one. They’re the best cars and it makes me so happy to drive mine.

I like your attitude, Leslie. Even though your Miata isn't stock, you're kind of a Miata purist, and that's admirable to me (probably because I own a bone stock Classic Red '90 Miata 😂)

That is the most beautiful Miata I've ever seen.

Manual is the best driving experience. It may not be the fastest shift but there is no more of a connected driving experience, especially with a small engine that revs.

idk i kind of agree but disagree in a miata automatic is just plain boring and uneeded ive even driving the new miata auto put me to sleep it really ruins the point of the car

I make fun too but not what you think. For me when I see a car I only see the car and not the driver. So for me when I see a cool car but it's an auto I feel like the car would be alot more fun if it were manual. I would explain more but it's a bit confusing. Again I see cars as they are and not the driver who owns them.

I was looking for a Honda Element and accidentally came across a 1992 Miata ( manual of course ). I was transitioning careers and it took me to school and back. Ever since my 1.6 is stock , just a a couple of Moss mods and Amazon and Ebay parts. She's a screamer low and loud and I fly . I have other cars but my Miata will never leave.

I love the pop up headlights. Nice looking ride!

Miata (eunos) has been my hobby for 27 years and yours is definitely up there!

NA is a timeless design and OP did a good job not over doing it.

I also have a 93 Miata. As for your comment on being behind of your group on a cruise.. on your own drive some curvy roads and get used to pushing the car a bit in the corners. Then when you feel confident, have your group follow you, take them to thise roads and see if they can keep up in the turns. Just a thought. Nice NA!

Great story. 👍 As an owner of a relatively stock 1994 NA8 MX-5 (other than aftermarket wheels), I understand your attachment to the car. Though 80mph max speed is a concern. That's about 128km/h, and mine can most definitely go much faster than that in relative ease and comfort. If it was mine NA6, I'd probably check out your suspension and/or wheel setup, or the gearbox mod. I'd also recommend you join an MX-5 / MIata Club in your area.

It can go past 80 easily, you need to fix the suspension. And if speed is an issue there are options to make it faster if you have the funds for it

Bruh, going 110 on an NA miata feels like you're in a rocket ship made out of cardboard. Also I had no idea miatas were a tiktok trend for chicks now. I've had one I bought cheap for years now but I guess that explains why NA's are skyrocketing in price.

An NB Miata was my first car which I bought this year in April but I want to sell it now because I got bigger goals and for the main reason that I have to put so much more money into it to get it back to tip top condition. I just can't justify spending more on it and it kind of hurts wanting to sell it because these cars aren't very common

does it have to be tip top? make it safe first, then worry about tip top. If an NB, it's 15+yo car and 15+yo cars need tlc and maintenance. As far as your goals, not sure what they are, but having a car that has an unlimited aftermarket/support is better than any current car in production. no payments are nice too.

Some NB came with a 6spd.... It's also better and worse than the 5spd. You'll be in a higher rpm at 80 in 6th than a 5spd in 5th But it's slightly stronger of a transmission

my NA had those EXACT same license plate dents, funny. My NB has them too although they are a tad smaller. Shame on Mazda for not putting a plate mount on these cars!
