Les Paul & Steve Miller
Музыка
This Final Performance Tribute all began on Les Paul's 90th birthday when luminaries from the musical world gathered to celebrate at New York's historic Iridium Jazz Club. Les and friends 'jammed' every Monday for the next four years until the legend left us. Great moments from many of those cool sessions are presented in this tribute to the man who created a sonic boom with the solid-body electric guitar. It's all here.

To greats …What a beautiful performance.🥰🎸
I could watch these two play and banter for hours..RIP Les.❤️
Two guitar gods show us the height of music appreciation, and the feeling's mutual.
I got to see Les at the Iridium in ... 97ish. He did more standup than played guitar, and that was just fine by me. I got to meet a legend.
Les was not just a terrific guitarist, inventor, and innovator, and great storyteller, but he was a beautiful person. Les played for years at the Iridium in Manhattan on Mondays, like at this show. And at the conclusion of each show, he would usually spend time with other guitarists and fans that wanted to meet with him. It was always a delight to meet and talk with him. Although he had difficulty with arthritis in his later year, his mind was always sharp and he had a wonderful sense of humor.
Godfather and godson. Les taught Steve his first chords. Severe arthritis and all, and Les is still doing his best to do some of those lightning-fast licks that he used to do. God bless him! He will never be forgotten.

Steve’s parents stood up for Les and Mary when they got married.
This is special. You can really see the love and respect Steve has for Les, but they both LOVE to kid and rag on the other! Love it!!!

I met Les in the mid 90s at the House of Blues in L.A. for a celebration of him and his life, and he signed the Les Paul guitar I'd had since I was a boy. It was stolen a few years back, but I bet he'd smile and say "Don't you hate when that happens?" He is an inspiration for us all. Les you are missed and remembered lovingly...
On the shoulders of giants you always go far, and with Steve's talent this sentence is demonstrated.
That is awsome. A Fender? what a great chance to see these two men. Les had asmuch fun as Steve.
There are few people who have earned the title of "Icon" of any product and/or industry. Les Paul is one of those rare individuals.
I miss Les Paul , he was entertaining right to the end

Love ya Steve Miller. ❤ Lv u LESS ❤️🔥
What an exceptional jam!! I was very surprised that Mr. Les Paul invited Steve Miller to a jam session of this stature. I was hoping they'd play at least one of Steve's "little great songs", but no... they let me down on that. Despite that, I was surprised to discover this side of Steve I was not fully aware of. 👋👋👋
This is one of the finest videos that I've ever seen! Although not well known, Steve Miller is one hell of a bluesman. Also blessed to have Les as his godfather. Thanx for this wonderful piece of history!

What a treat! So glad I learned their story!
Proof positive that Steve Miller was...is...and always will be...One Cool Cat. *He's also a genuine, engaging and He guy. One are the nicest that I ever had the distinct pleasure of getting to meet! And I've met a lot! The majority are Pretty decent people, Some are all about their fame and "famousness". Then there are those who are vaguely tolerable, for whom fame is a distant memory. .... and the rest are.....'Legends in [their own] Living Rooms! **Thanks always to the staff of great old Belly Up Tavern!!**
Priceless !!
Les is jokester has a crazy sense of humor. Very humble and down to earth

How cool was that !?
I worked in Leo's G&L assembly dept. and in his little work space he kept a white Les Paul guitar leaned up against the wall. I was so tempted to ask Leo to sell it to me, but I was sure he wouldn't.

Les flips him off (in fun) at 2:35, But Miller was asking for it, playing a Fender and reminding Les when he dies he can't take it with him so turn over the equipment. Les also flips him off a different way at 4:53

Yep. Steve's Dad was a Pathologist and an amateur recording engineer, and Les and Mary Ford would record there as well as socialize. Steve's Mom was Matron of Honor and his Dad was Best Man at Les and Mary Ford's wedding. When Steve was born, Les became his Godfather.

@@ga0425 This explains why Les Paul was gushing love for Steve in this video. He took the 10 year old Steve Miller and taught him some things, and can you imagine over the years how happy Les Paul was every time a new Steve Miller song hit the radio waves and to the top of the charts. "That's my boy" One of the best stories in rock history.
All I can say is, "Yeah baby!"
Les Paul from Waukesha, Wisconsin Steve Miller from Milwaukee, Wisconsin I'm from green bay, Wisconsin

Fun facts; Les Paul was Steve miller's godfather and his first guitar teacher. Steve miller's parents were Les Paul best friend and also Best man and matron of honor, when Les Paul married to marry ford.

I watched this or something similar when I was on the road, hung over sipping beer, eating left over Chinese from the night before for breakfast, then I got an amazing feeling. when I looked over to my 1994 Les Paul Studio. I was so astonished and happy. my assistant got my day together and I sat across her and said this is why I do what I do. "Let's go kick some ass."
