I like how the piece feels like the movie starts in the middle of the story, and doesn't sound like a beginning. It places you in the middle of the war.

Well 1917 was the year before the war ended. So it makes sense. I liked it too.

The cost of war…

This was a beautiful movie. Never forget those who never came back from the trenches and never forget the horrors and the haunting moments they experienced. Back then propaganda depicted war as an opportunity for glory and an adventure. This movie does a great job of telling us that war is no adventure 😔

So tell me ish. Does watching your closest friends dying right before your eyes, seeing innocent men, women, and children being slaughtered, soldiers knowing they may never see their loved ones again, and seeing people traumatized by what they saw and when they come back, their never the same sound like an adventure to you?

Beautiful. This is the music that plays in the opening scene. Where it all began, and seems to predict horrible, sad things for the unsuspecting boys. 😢
