Yes...my mistake. This is actually a Magico. It has been a long week. 🤦‍♂️

David, May I ask how your hand is coming along? It sounded like a fairly serious injury. That IS a nice pen, but I continue to shake my head at the LE editions that don’t give people time to decide if they want one nor to save up if they do but can’t immediately come up with the funds. To me, a pen’s value lies in how much like it - its looks, the way it feels in my hand, how well it communicates with paper, if it has an interesting context or story. That doesn’t change with the number of other pens like it. I enjoyed seeing this pen. Thank you for the review. Swift healing!

Definitely not a LMZ Grande but 'only' a Magico! What a deception! More than 48 hours after launch, it hasn't been selling very well, which is understandable. Thanks for your great reviews.

$525 for this pen with gold nib and ebonite feed. Special order. The one you see here has a steel nib and a plastic feed. The outer pen, while handsome (I guess; it feels sort of so-what to me) is not what you write with. A Pilot 176 (a very good, reliable pen maker) can be bought, with gold nib, from Goulet for $176. I doubt that an ebonite feed is worth the $529 price difference, and since I write with the nib not the fancy colored outside of the pen I’ll take a pass on this “Magico.” There do seem to be a number of newer pens which encase pedestrian pen works (you know, the stuff you actually use) in fancy, very expensive shells. Of course there is nothing wrong with purchasing a fancy-looking object at great cost but inferior works to put into a case, or even write with if that is what you want.

I love the pilot 176, great pen. It's so light though almost as if it's not there.
