The violinist is my grandfather, who also past away on February 28, 2015. His name was Raffi Hakopian.

Have loved Leonard Cohen and his music since my teens. I'm 70 now. The violinist is Wow! A class act.❤❤❤❤❤

My husband was a big Cohen fan. So I opened his funeral service with this song that he loved so much.

My Mom passed away a couple of years ago. She couldn't play a fiddle, she could not sing. She didn't even know this song. And her Name was not Marianne. That's what brought me to this song. Suzanne we miss you.

We definitely didn't know.

My mom (Marianne) passed away from cancer a few years ago. Shortly after I discovered Leonard’s music and found this song. I know he didn’t write it about losing a loved one, but I’ve found this line be relatable while grieving: “Your letters they all say that you’re beside me now, then why do I feel alone? I’m standing on a ledge and your fine spider web is fastening my ankle to a stone.”

I also have a mom that passed from cancer (she was Mary Ann) I discovered Leonard’s music and this song after her death and it means a lot to me. Thank you for sharing! ❤️
