Lyrics It's four in the morning, the end of December I'm writing you now just to see if you're better New York is cold, but I like where I'm living There's music on Clinton Street all through the evening I hear that you're building your little house Deep in the desert You're living for nothing now I hope you're keeping some kind of record Yes, and Jane came by with a lock of your hair She said that you gave it to her That night that you planned to go clear Did you ever go clear? Ah, the last time we saw you you looked so much older Your famous blue raincoat was torn at the shoulder You'd been to the station to meet every train You came home without Lili Marlene And you treated my woman To a flake of your life And when she came back She was nobody's wife Well I see you there with the rose in your teeth One more thin gypsy thief Well I see Jane's awake She sends her regards And what can I tell you my brother, my killer What can I possibly say? I guess that I miss you, I guess I forgive you I'm glad you stood in my way If you ever come by here, for Jane or for me Well your enemy is sleeping, and his woman is free Yes, and thanks, for the trouble you took from her eyes I thought it was there for good so I never tried And Jane came by with a lock of your hair She said that you gave it to her That night that you planned to go clear Sincerely, L. Cohen

During these last few live tours Leonard seems to reach his highest levels of musical expression, and has surrounded himself with a band and backing singers of world class level. Just check out how many of the band are noteworthy recording artists in their own right. We're lucky Leonard was pushed into these last tours and that we have such a great musical treasure as a result.

I'm incredibly privileged to have lived 200 meters from Mr Cohens Montreal house. Funnily enough he lived on a street called Marieanne. After he passed many montrealers had a vigil in front of his house. In front people laid flowers, candles but also tea and oranges.

I'm glad I lived through this time. Poor, and lounging back onto one of those old 1940s brown lounge chairs with the stuffing hanging out of it, passing a half empty wine cask around a boree ring of coeds. And there was Leonard's presence, hypnotically escaping from two great, heavy speakers as we lay on the linoleum somewhere between midnight and dawn. It's strange how genius seems to reach out and grab receptive young minds.

Love from China. When i was a freshman i heard his songs in a rainy night, i deeply fell into love his voice. But so sadly when i was in the military as a voluntary soilder he passed away. He gave me strength and told me loneness is a must way to mature as Michael Jackson taught me to be kind

Last year I finally managed to visit the island of Hydra and walked to his house where he had lived for a few years with his Marianne. I dreamed of doing this since I read his autobiography, almost 20 years ago. He was a great artist. Thank you, Mr. Cohen! Your music and your poetry will live on forever.

Gracias MAESTRO COHEN
