...Except Leon does let Ada get away with things, which can/could have terrible consequences. And in "Vendetta," his actions could have/probably killed a significant number of innocent people. He's definitely the most interesing, most fleshed out character in the franchise. He the ideal: strong in the face of adversity; bent by tragedy, but still not broken. However, it is in his vulnerabilities and imperfections that we come to love him most.

I started Resident Evil with RE5, so back then he was my favorite, but when I played RE6 I started to see Leon as my favorite, the reasons are many, his morals, his style, even his job are great, when I played the older games, he always kept the 1st place In video games, he only loses to Dante, from Devil May Cry

Leon is so beloved because he’s the ideal zombie survivor. He’s the perfect mixture of the badass everyone dreams of being in the zombie apocalypse, and the traumatized veteran one would actually become when constantly fighting to stay alive.

I like to think of Leon as nightwing from DC. They're both very likable and relatable and little to no flaw.

On some levels, Ada has great affection for him too, her love language is saving him without him knowing. She’s just focused enough to not let it get in the way of her mission.

1:56 & 2:56 just a minor thing but you contradicted yourself here. Otherwise it a great video, my first RE game was 2 and remember watching my brother play 4 on the PS2 all those years ago. I think everyone wants to be Leon, every game he’s in seems to be popular even in RE6 his campaign was the best one

I think i love leon so much, is because no matter what he goes through, he still cares and that he still makes mistakes and learn from them (maybe not with ada 😒) but he still does learn. Also i dont hate ada, i just dislike the ship of ada and leon its very toxic.

All movies are about leon, in vendetta they show chris struggling and having a hard time, then they make him ask for leon’s help, then when leon helps somehow the day is saved. From degeneration to death island it’s all leon. In infinite darkness shen may and the old man (the tall agent) they talk about how him saving the daughter of the president is no luck and that he is more than qualified and the ladies hit on him in almost every RE. Why not talk about chris? Why not give the spotlight to chris? Why not give him a whole movie only about him? Why not let him save leon for once? Why does leon have to be the savior all the time? I think in RE4 remake Leon representation was the best and realistic, however I do not like when writers in movies downplay other characters, that's just lazy ass writing to be honest. Im more excited about future sequels of the games because it looks like the story telling has lot more potential here in games rather than movies and shows. What are your thoughts on that?

seriously, and even his characterization in vendetta and infinite darkness feels off. I can't possibly believe he has suddenly developed a drinking problem, no matter how tough he's had it, or that he set out killing innocent civilians. Capcom committed a crime with this sort of characterization. And I agree, there's so many characters for re9, but a 48 year old Leon will have to be the protagonist 😭. I really like him, don't get me wrong, but if they ruin his character again he's better off retiring.

My personal headcannon with why Leon is so infatuated with Ada is that, because we know how much of a softie he is deep down, and because of how we know that before his first day on the job his girlfriend left him and was late to work because he had a huge hangover due to his broken heart (unfortunately our boy Leon had a drinking problem long before vendetta showed it to us), I feel like because he met Ada literally the day after he got dumped by his ex girlfriend, and because he was so desperate to fill the hole that his ex left, made him pretty much instantly fall in love with Ada, didnt help much that Ada is a very attractive looking woman who also kinda reciprocated Leon's feelings, so yeah, thats why I think hes still so infatuated with her despite her shady personality, because the scar that was left by his ex has still not healed, even after so many years, which just further proves how much of a soft heart he has, not that theres anything wrong with that, but unfortunately the world hasnt been kind to that soft heart of his, which makes me feel bad for him even though he's just a fictional character.

Yeah. There's like a "Status" in the RE community between a fan base. You're either a Leon fan or a Chris fan. Generally, there is no in-between. I'm in a few FB RE groups, and my god, the amount of toxic Chris fans will just say ANYTHING to piss off anybody. It's ruthless, dude. It's sad, actually. @@ghost2005 Don't get me wrong, love or hate a character all you like, but to go out of your way to quite literally tear a person to shreds for it is beyond insane. While yes, my favorite is Leon, it's just my opinion. And that's all it is. There's no fact on paper that proves who's even better. Chris fans usually justify their answer with: Defeating Wesker, Punching Boulders, and being strong. Which if that's how they feel, by all means then sure. But it's a opinion. I've also hated the "decade question" of the Leon v Chris. It was answered by Capcom officials that they're equals. Yet people make excuses. Chris fanboys and just casual fans say Leon fans are the worst, but I have yet to see a single Leon fan do the amount of fuckery a Chris fan does on a regular basis. Like I rather shake hands and get along then have a Civil War over the community. We should be grateful we got them both to begin with. RE is a massive success. As for Thor and Supes though, that's just variant scaling at this point. We got Herald Thor, New 52 Supes, etc..Thor is great, I don't fuck with DC by anymeans but there's usually 50/50's but it's so inconsistent I don't even think anymore. Especially with Batman's bullshit. In my mind he's not beating Spiderman with prep. But Marvel and DC writers just stopped giving a fuck for consistent power scale it's honestly annoying. I stopped caring for those arguments in the comic world. Now Anime/Manga tho. That's different.
