@@jackdrought873 he wouldn't. Mas doesn't throw 3 punches per minute like Luque, and he is there to put you out. Edwards would attempt to wrestle hoping to tire Masvidal before he tries anything else.

Leon isn't stupid, like most MMA fans. Luque is a BJJ guy. Leon is a striker. If you don't know your strengths and weaknesses, you have no business in MMA, where people come in with all kinds of specialties. There is as much reason or logic for Leon to grapple & do extended BJJ maneuvers on the mat with Luque as there is for Luque to try wrestling with Usman or Colby. Leon's very decent in wrestling and BJJ & very good in TDD; but those skills are not at Luque or Usman's levels. His strength deals with pure striking, kicking, & hit-and-run tactics, taking full advantage of his physical assets he has that others don't have (as much), in his extra height & extra athleticism.

Casual comparing a 3 round fight vs a 5 round fight. In a 5 round grappling match Luque catches Usman in a late submission.

@@kiabtoomlauj6249 Leon is able to hang with Luque here because of his speed and size. Leon today has hardly changed size/mass since this fight. Luque looks noticeably heavier today compared to this match with more mass on his arms chest and legs and I see him taking out Edwards in a 5 round fight. Edwards doesn't hit and run he uses leg kicks and is a clinch fighter but unlike Usman's clinch fighting, he doesn't hold long in the clinch and instead elbows off the break off the clinch then returns into the clinch to land to the body. In his fight with Belal, Leon clinched twice in the first round and got reversed both times. Go watch how much clinching went on from both fighters when Leon lost to Usman.

Fixed fight. Lugue hsrdly did any striking.
