@niggars He was Islam’s first sparing partner ever even tho it was a wrestling spar he was taking it easy on him and bullying him. That had to give him crazy confidence at the time cause Leon has been practicing BJJ for 10 plus years! Elite striker but all that was missing in his game was wrestling. Dagastani boys made him better there Iron sharpens Iron. It’s beautiful to see them both now as champs and tbh their striking reminds me of each other you can tell Islam definitely took some of Leon’s striking too and learned from the fellow south paw their left straight and kicks are nasty.

Islam has tougher completion coming up with better grapplers and the like who will all be studying him, But then again, Makachev is a better version of Khabib in every facet of the game. It’s gonna be interesting, especially if he decides to move up to Welterweight.

Khabib made a promise to his dad before passing. Khabibs job was to make sure that Islam became champ to carry out his dads legacy. So Khabib had to retire and let belt go to someone else. Khabibs job was to train Islam to be the next champ. Mission complete! Islam was Abdulmanaps favorite student. Islam was there to help Khabib becomes champ and Khabib paid back the respect to Islam. This makes history for their legacy. Islam deserves this more than anyone else. He has worked hard and was patient all these years. Everyone doubted Islam could beat Charles. They said Charles would knock him out, submit him, etc. Islam outstruck him, outwrestled him and then made him tap. That is what I call an extreme victory. Khabib and Islam told the world how they were gonna beat Charles. They did exactly what they said they would do. Khabib just climbed goat status for this one.
