His ONLY big PPV main event was his 2nd fight against Usman. No one will care about Colby vs Leon. But Leon vs Masvidal actually has a story behind it. And he's a far more favorable matchup. Colby has ducked literally every single current contender at 170, while Leon was constantly getting ducked and passed over. He low-key needed the win as well because had he lost especially a decisive one his head shot win would have been written off as a fluke. This win removes all doubt and vindicates the claim that Leon (as was all fighters at the event other than Usman) was compromised from the high-altitude in Utah.

Nah, Leon has called out Colby for years and Covington put him aside. Now Colby is begging to fight him. Out of the top 5 of who deserves a title shot, Colby is at the bottom of the list. First being Belal, Khamzat, and Burns. Colby needs to fight someone else for a contender fight. Also, Leon beats Colby easily. People talk about his wrestling but he has a 43% takedown accuracy. And has only landed 48 out of 146 takedowns. There is no threat to Leon in the striking from Colby, as in power or anything. You gotta remember Leon went through 3 training camps for Chimaev's wrestling and went through 2 training camps for Usman's wrestling. Colby hasn't been active for a long time, he's getting older, and etc. Leon is young and hungry.

Colby said khamzat didn't want it, khamzat said Sean shelby called him 4 times about the fight and he said yes everytime. There's no proof for either side. @@Antywan You dont have to bro theres plenty of good streams, however colby is actually a really good submission artist and has the potential to sub leon and he tends to leave his back open which is perfect for COlby the D1 wrestler, he just has to survive to about the 3rd and 4th rds , after that leon takes the cake imo, but its a close fight cuz colby has great cardio and alot of output, plus leon tends to back away to the cage to avoid hits which colby can use to shoot into a td.. its gonna be a great technical fight

We all know Dana told Colby he’d get a title shot if he didn’t go as hard on Masvidal. Masvidal signed a 7 fight deal and has had only 1 of those fights. Colby could ruin him or worse put him in jail which Dana dosent want. So he’s like go easy on him and you can have the next title shot. Dana never makes fights at the post fight presser and he did for this 😂😂 crazy.

Completely different situation. Francis decided to not extend his contract with the UFC. Leon is talking about turning down a match offer. Fighters do it all the time. It's their right. The problem here is that Dana announced it before he tried to negotiate it. That's the only reason for us even knowing that Leon doesn't want it. Seems like Dana didn't learn from that Costa vs Rob situation (promoting it before closing it).

A few facts about Colby: 1. Hasnt fought for over a year 2. Is 2-2 in last 4 fights 3. Has 0 wins over a current top 10 WW 4. His last 2 wins were both over guys coming off 2 losses 5. Hasnt finished an opponent since 2016 (tyron breaking a rib is not a TKO/KO) 6. Has 1 win against a current top 20 WW 7. Colby has a total of 700k PPV buys while Jorge has 1.2M PPV buys so whos the bigger draw? 8. Fighters all through the WW division claim Colby does not accept fights do your own research (Khamzat, Burns, Belal, Shavkat) 9. Khamzat, Belal, Kamaru, Burns and shavkat all available to fight, but colby wanted to fight Dustin Porier a 155er I would love to know how Dana White can sit there with a straight face and say "Colby deserves the next title shot" 🤷‍♂️

Been rocking with leon for a while, but man he couldn't sound more insane. He doesn't want to fight colby because he hasn't been active, but willing to fight jorge if he beats gilbert. If jorge wins he would be 1-3 in his last 4 fights. We with you rocky but this makes no sense. I personally don't thing colby or jorge deserves it. But surely not jorge

On the flip side of their ending conversation. I have to completely disagree. How, If masvidal & Covington's both last fight, was fighting each other over a year ago in March 2022, is the rationale, Masvidal. Masvidal is ranked 11 with 3 losses in a row. Covington has sat at the top of # 1 for a looong time, clearing out all the welterweights. Let's not forget, Jones was gone for 3 YEARS, 3 times the amount Colby & Jorge have been gone & Jones went straight to a title shot. Periera fought 2 fights in the UFC & got a title shot. It's also a little funny to me that Khamzat never got mentioned. I love Edwards, but I don't think he wants it with Colby or Khamzat. However, to be fair, at the spectacular level Edwards has improved, which to me is un-freaking-real, I think he can definitely beat Covington. Since Edwards improved his takedown defense so well. His preparation for Usman, will COMPLETELY apply to Covington, since Colby has the same cardio & "wet blanket style." My opinion, if not Covington, then definitely Belal. He earned it. In 14 fights, he's lost once & 1 NC which was the eye poke from Edwards. Also to be fair, the ranking system & who gets a title shot rationale in the UFC has never made ANY sense to me. 11 wins in a row is so impressive. PAY THIS MAN HIS DUES!!!!!

​@aloevvbeau usman got lit up all night. He looked a shadow of his former self. Striking looked slow and sloppy. Footwork timing and distance was off. Worst I seen usman look. I think he will retire soon.

Belal Vs Colby for the title shot makes the most sense. In my opinion

One of the best attitudes in the sport and a great ambassador to it. Leon Rocky Edwards I hope he beats them all and retires a happy, healthy, and wealthy man.

Why do people want Colby to fight Leon so bad? Even ignoring the circumstances, Colby is just as boring of a fighter as Kamaru. He's just a more entertaining character like Conor, but stylistically he does the exact same thing as Kamaru. Would rather see Khamzat vs Leon even though he is less deserving of a championship fight at the moment.
