Current Inflation is being driven up mostly by fuel prices, If we switch to Nuclear power and give greater incentives to buy electric cars (including subsidising and prioritising lithium battery production) this problem will subside substantially over time. Also, many countries are going for the practical short term measures of taxing fossil fuel company profits to discourage extortionate profiteering.. Overall though, Society’s rejection of Nuclear power was a massive mistake, and the environment has payed dearly for it as we continue to rely on fossil fuels for our electricity…

Sorry Kieran is completely wrong here and Leo is right. Why is Kieran of the impression the middle income earners (of which I am one) are not under financial pressure in the current economic crises?? We are completely rode on tax month after month after month. We get no social welfare, no allowances, nothing, just tax tax tax. I for one am glad of the €200 and I will take anything else the government offer and they need to offer more. The people who contribute least cannot continue to get more and more reward off the back of my taxes. It’s simply unfair.
