Leo Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilyich | With Thomas Karshan and Olga Sobolev

Philosophers’ Book Club reconvenes to discuss Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilyich. Notable for its unflinching portrayal of the process of dying and centrally concerned with the question how to live a meaningful life, Ivan Ilyich is one of the great novellas. Thomas Karshan and Olga Sobolev join Jonathan Birch to explore Tolstoy’s philosophical ideas, his work, and his life.
