For barebow men 36-42 pounds and arrows depend on the game intended. Field & outdoor target would be .166 arrow. Indoor .166-.244 and 3D varies on tune and approach to crawl and gapping.

collegue of mine also do this and he thinks of it having less influence on the string (which is kinda logical^^) but its way more straining for the fingers

It's a poor sight. You count your stiches more than you shoot😂😂😂 Learn to shoot trad bows or take Olympic recurve or compond bow.
