you see how he did the hinge @ 24:00 mins, he put the glue on the holes, so the heads of the hinge would fit in the holes, then press down, let it bond, then heated up the metal again, then placed more glue on it. Better than factory.

23:22 yes it can be. For example when the water or alcohol gets around that hot glue for 30/60seconds it will rip that glue off. (most people remove hotglue by heat, but the better way is to remove it cold after apply alcohol there and wait 1minute) and also when your fixed hinge is close to heatsink/radiator it will break one day. Anyway hot glue is still the best for hinges.

Totally respect your decision not to clean the laptop. I like the hot glue hinge fix it makes sense, it's flexible glue and if you get a good bond it's better than any other option available. I have an old HP ProBook 6470b (which flies with Windows 10 as I fitted a decent SSD to it) with a broken hinge which I fixed with epoxy - but it's mine so I know to treat it gently, it's lasted two years so far. But I bet if I was to lend it to someone it would be broke again within a month.

I am talking to you from a country where the temperature reaches more than 50 degrees Celsius. Hot glue is effective and is the only solution for hinges. My question is, if hot glue melts in hot climates, why does it not dissolve before using it? I don't remember the day I bought a cylindrical piece of hot glue with half of it in the store

The doggy way of fixing the screen connector sometimes will not work. It happened to me after doing so the panel's internal fuse was broken. Maybe the screen was dead and the screen internal power mosfet was already dead. Also for the cleaning part. The costumer is not your friend or brother or whatever. If he brings a fault ypu just fix that one. I agree 100%. Because even if you do it for charity because you are nice to costumers. Sometime the costumer will tell ypu this dust is belong to my girlfriend's house before she past away and it was the only memory. Then he will sue you.

I would never release a repair like this, to my mind this is just a bandage. How much time would it take to find the reason for no power at the backlight circuit. The question really is do you inform your customers that the repair actually changed the layout of power distribution. and was not a one for one repair. In my opinion you do not tell your customers of the repair made. I think your a decent guy who got in the habit of down and dirty repairs. That might of been ok where your from but looked down at where you are.
