Lenny Mclean's LAST unlicensed fight against "Man mountain York" Clear footage!
Lenny Mclean was aged 37 in this fight but looks a good 10 years older. For all his bravado as "Britain's hardest man" he lost 6 of his bouts, winning 9, the most famous or infamous fights were the trilogy against "Roy pretty boy Shaw".
#Royshaw #unlicensedboxing #Krays #britishhardmen
"When Frank Warren formed the National Boxing Council in the 1970s, it allowed the toughest underground fighters in Britain to compete legally. McLean, unable to become a licensed boxer due to his violent reputation and criminal record, entered the world of unlicensed boxing (which, though legal, was not sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control), and he quickly became one of its brightest stars. His most famous bout was against George 'Pappy' Langley. The notorious Essex fighter had earned a name for himself by knocking out almost all of his opponents to date. The fight lasted one round with George Langley being victorious via KO.
McLean, who in his prime was six feet two inches (188 cm) tall and weighed over twenty stone (127 kg), boasted that he could beat anybody, in either a legitimate match or in an unlicensed match with or without gloves, and reputedly sent out challenges to many of the famous boxers of the day, including Muhammad Ali and Mr. T, though neither contest materialised. He was challenged by the king of the gypsies Bartley Gorman to see who was the hardest unlicensed fighter in the United Kingdom but he refused, leading many to believe Bartley to be the better fighter. He was offered one professional boxer by Frank Warren, David 'Bomber' Pearce the hard hitting British Heavyweight Champion from Newport. McLean declined to fight Pearce at that time in his career".

No disrespect to these guys. I've been an amateur boxer for 25 years and Ive studied the history and science of the sport my whole life and it takes a lot to get in there and fight but I'm positive he would get destroyed by an actual professional boxer. Wide punches, off balance, squared up, no defense, no jab , no straight punches. He just wouldn't last. It would look similar to the fight between the bare knuckle fighter named Joe Savage and Smokin Bert Cooper. If you haven't seen that I suggest you watch it. A top level professional heavyweight would stop this guy in one round. Joe Savage actually looked like he knew how to punch a little better than this guy. At least he threw straight punches

pretty good summation really. people carry on like Lenny would have had a chance in pro ranks but realistically he was never better than an amateur level puncher. Regardless whether you are allowed to box professionally or not, you can still train to be a lot better than 3rd rate slugger. The above was a joke.
Man mountain fighting Lenny and the elastic in his shorts..
The big guy was told to take a dive. Clearly
Everytime I upload lately its taking 10 mins after the upload to even watch the fkn video 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Cancer always wins in the end,so enjoy the best life in the time we have
Thank God a good pair of shorts have come a looong way...
They both were gased 10 seconds into the fight 😅😅
Wow I never realised how many peoole would pay to watch that. Any ABA quarter finalist would knock both of them out in under 3 minutes.
Neither was as tough as man mountain yorks shorts in this day 😮

Thank God they held on longer than he did
If you don’t think these fights were rigged you’re crazy.
He beat everything that came his way except the 'Big C".

Yeah very true. He died very young really
Old gammons hand bagging each other lol. I read lenny’s book many years ago and really bought into his hardest man in Britain persona, good entertaining read. No doubt he was a tough intimidating man in his day but massive ego too. And as mentioned a good amateur heavyweight would have creamed him in no time. Great character too. Good laugh in lock stock.

You can tell he's from England, because nobody in America is impressed by size or boxing ability when every goon on the street has a gun. I suppose he did well against butter knives
A lot of comments criticising Lenny, but he was 30-something in this video and past his best years. You don't get the title of The Guvnor for no reason. Never met the man but have heard some of the stories about his fighting up and down the country during his younger years. He was never a professional boxer, but an animal of a street fighter - different ball games.

Just seems like the only guy in the UK to have found a roids hookup and went mayham with his newly found "strength".

He fought a guy called Roy, can't remember his surname, & Roy beat him in 2nd fight they had.
Funny how all the "hardest men" from back in the day would have been finished in 30 seconds by any half decent grappler. People had the wrong idea about fighting back then (even though the grappling arts have existed for 1000s of years).

Not many people want to watch grappling though, as its pretty useless in real life violence when you want to stay on your feet to stop a guys mates from stomping on you and kicking you in the head, not to mention I wouldnt want to get bitten while I'm on the floor, thats if I could get the big lump to the floor. I read somewhere he bit through some guys throat, so with that kind of fighting, its all theoretical who would win. The closest we got to testing it was the early UFC's, but for me, basic boxing and the 100 metre sprint is worth more than a 10th dan blackbelt in Jujitsu.
There were lots of cases of 'GBH' in the crowd....... 'Grevious bodily haberdashery' 😂
That was as exciting as a night out with Ann Widdecombe.
binman and club bouncer ... sounds like most of AJ's opponents lmao

You are talking Fury here. Add taxi drivers.
Man mountain's style is totally unsuited to his size. Every one of his fight I'm saying YOU'RE BIGGER THAN HIM, GET IN THERE AND PUSH HIM AROUND!
That fight was a disaster
It would be fun to see one of these guys go up against George Foreman for example. George would destroy them in the first round!!

You are talking about a gifted elite fighter in George Foreman. These unlicensed fighters wouldn’t last 3 rounds with a decent British level fighter

You hear someone in the crowd shouting stamp on his fackin head at 3:10 😂😂😂
Maybe his shorts were cutting of his blood flow

There was supposed to be, but he took an unlicensed cab to the grounds and never made it on account that he got roofied and raped in the back seat
And the cameraman misses the knockdown!!! 🙄
Let's cut away at the critical moment!

My thoughts exactly, we missed the vital punch because the cameraman was too busy filming the crowd. Still waiting for a call that never came from Paramount pictures i heard.
McClean was an absolute terror

Honestly I thought so but this fight is pretty pathetic regarding his boxing ability. Just a pumped up bully with little boxing destroying fatties and loosing against quite some others at best mediocre guys.
When he gets low in the first seconds of the fight and doesn't move his head how does the other guy miss?
Wonder who would have won in a bare knuckle fight between Lenny and Charles Bronson, my money would be on Bronson due to his fitness
HaHa I agree with the comment, a 20 year old Mike Tyson in there would have wasted the 2 of them quick smart, and the next and the next recurring.
He’s not a great Referee is he.
