Alright, time for a new How I Shoot episode. China Town is one of the coolest places to shoot in Bangkok at night. With all the neon light it looks awesome and most of the time it is packed with people. I filmed an episode there last season and In had to come back and give it another go, this time with my trusty Leica Q.
Hope you enjoy the episode, see you in the next one! :)

Really nice, Robin! Great content as usual, some really nice images in there, really enjoying the kinda surreal atmosphere of the flash; I think the aesthetic is growing on me, hahaha. And the place seems amazing... really looking forward to it next month!

Im glad im not the only one that sweats buckets over there.
wow that looks like a nightmare to traverse ha. Can you explain where you hold the flash according to the camera? Is it below the camera or level w/ the body while off to the side? great stuff sir. thank you for sharing.

Thank you Jimmy! More on that in a future video dedicated to how I use flash. 👌
Great POV video and shots as always Robin. Just curious do you use a handgrip or thumbgrip with the Q or use as is?
You lit that family selie at the perfect time for them. Nice Robin!
Great shots Robin, I enjoyed this video. Did you use the flash in full power?
The China Town of Bangkok is really good for street photography.

It absolutely is! 👍
I have a question you use the flash in the eyes of people, You do not have people who annoy you, But it is a good success.
@therealsirrobin

No, as you can see in the video. I have a couple of video where I was using flash and nobody got upset. I will talk about that topic in a future video because a lot of people seem to have a totally wrong impression on using flash in the streets.
Great night shooting! Was your video was shot on the Sony a6400 on this one? If so was the Leica mounted to the Sony?

Hi Robin, I see the gear listed in description, great gear ! I just wonder like Alan, how do you shoot and film at the same time with the sony and 16/1.4 and the Leica with flash, how many hands do you have haha ? Awesome video, regards
Great video as always !! Correct me if I am wrong....It looks like you shoot most of the time from chest height, right? Love that FlashQ
You are a modern day Mark Cohen 📸 💥 💥
Congratulations for the realisation

Awesome video as always Robin, that places looks better than Snake Alley. I think you should visit some cooler countries ... ha ha ha ... You did not look well at the start of the video... ha ha ha ...🤪🤪😉

Thank you, Robin! It was, as always, a very inspiring Video! I was curious how you took the Shots, so being happy about the Explanations on the End. - Perhaps, if you haven't already, you can show us, how you practically work with you Leica Q and the Lightpix Labs Flash Q20!? - Cheers Helmut

Thank you Helmut. Will do that but have to wait until I get a replacement for my flash. More on that once I get a new one.
Great shot Sir @Yaowarat, you got big balls there. I can’t do like that even I’m Thai.

I was just thinking the same thing!
Hi Robin, can you please explain why you choose to have the flash off camera rather than mounted in this shoot? In what direction would you generally point the flash then?

Hi what are your camera settings?
Hi i want to know the video by rollei crossbird 200
I don't speak as much Thai as my wife but after you flashed that photos of the old man crossing the street I heard "arai wa" or like "What the hell!'
@therealsirrobin
4 жыл бұрын
That's what I would probably say.😃
hi, nice, I would appreciate less light (minus flash compensation) or perhaps here triggering faces down in post, and 2nd curtain sync. for moving subjects
is this video made by Leica Q? thanks
Why aren't do they seems to have a rude shock when flash fires? They just walked away?? And you shot from camera hanging from ur neck height?
@therealsirrobin
4 жыл бұрын
Because people don't really care. 😉
Don't people get pissed off having a flash in their faces??
@therealsirrobin
4 жыл бұрын
No, as clearly shown in this and other videos. 😉 It's a misconception to think that way. Once you give it a try you'll see that it doesn't really matter if you use flash or not.

I love flash street photography! It makes everyone look so interesting. I really enjoyed this one and thanks for sharing your camera settings at the end.
intrusive and unflattering photos to say the least. A real Bruce Gilden vibe throughout the video. Not sure I'd be taking photos of someone else's model/photoshoot just because its on the street. Just my opinion.

using flash on people face without theirs permission it's rude and unprofessional.

It's rude and unprofessional trying to tell me what to do and what not. It's none of your business since I did not photograph you.
