This is pão de ló, its a Portuguese cake that was called castella when it was first introduced to east Asia by 13th century missionaries. It's still very popular in Japan under the name カステラ/かすてら (Kasuterra from Castella) and was briefly Japan's national cake I believe.

This is beautiful and it makes me happy! Feels like I'm 6 yo again, secretly awake at midnight watching something from the kids channel I've never heard of, some kind of fantasy and realistic mixture of an animated cartoon... what a nostalgic feeling, thank you for that!

Okay, as much as I enjoyed the video, I laughed out loud when the "do not eat lego" came out of the machine. I wondered why it was included in the beginning and it was a very creative way to end. I love seeing the different ways you come up with to show/include the disclaimer at the end.
