Holy cow, the PATIENCE to do this sort of thing, actively make something and edit like each piece is a set of stop motion, that’s incredible

The fact this whole video is stop motion, not just the parts where he is actually doing the woodwork makes it feel so much smoother and more realistic

I dont think you realize how much this makes me want to eat a plank of wood.

I love how the hammering of the nails just gets progressively more advanced. It's like the guy got bored and decided to increasingly break the laws of physics more than he was already breaking them

I really like the detail that he’s using kitchen utensils to do all of the work- the measuring spoon, spatula, whisk- all of it! I love it.

@Topaz I agree. The only thing that would make it completely unidentifiable as a stop motion video would be an increase in the FPS. FPS is an important factor to stop motion, it can make things look heavily natural like it actually happened.

Imagine if woodworking was this easy

This is by far the most complex video to date. Getting the nails to look smooth, shaping the wood with kitchen utensils and looking smooth, and of course just straight up using a butter knife. I can easily tell this took a long time to make. Can’t wait to see what is produced in this new year!

I've never known what "trust in the process" truly meant until I've seen him making those seemingly pointless scratches and dents on the box, gotta say I'm blown away

I've watched this video several times over the years and am always impressed with the seemless stop motion work. The sound effects and the humor (like the bent nail) make this a high quality video. It is not just bland stop motion but something that has a deeper feeling of being "real" if that makes sense.

...all these years I was using a hammer instead of a spoon

Can you imagine how easy being a carpenter would be if humans could cut wood like carrots

At first, I was going to say that I would have loved to see a lot of this type of stop motion on TV when I was a child growing up. But now that I think about it, knowing so much more about the physics going into making this video clip, it becomes even more enjoyable. This is entertainment for all ages, especially for those of us who are interested in technical things. Thank you.

I know this is stop motion, but it makes it look like the wood is the hardness of cookie dough, but isn’t able to loose it’s shape! Mind blown! 🤯 Amazing work!

it wouldn’t take long to assemble it actually- probably an hour or a little over that, and then a few more hours for the sanding, wearing, and staining. but then you take into account the stop motion and i cant even imagine how long this would’ve taken. mad respect tbh

Being a woodworker, I can’t tell you how much this style of video is satisfying to me. Maybe because I know how precise all of the marking and cutting is and how long it can take. This is how easy I wish it was sometimes.

I watch a video on stop motion a while ago where they used the NES Power glove to control the camera. Pretty interesting stuff.

Just appreciating the amount of effort a stop-motion like this takes.

Having made many stop motions myself, it amazes me how smooth this is. Looks like video rather than stop motion. My stop motions are always very choppy. I would love to see a behind the scenes of this because I feel anyone who does stop motion could learn a lot from whoever made this. This was incredible!

Stop motion is done 1 frame at a time, like a picture, a slight move is made and another frame, and it takes at least 24 pictures or frames to be done for each second of video. It's a slow, painstaking process but it's so rewarding to make and watch.

Plot twist: you need a saw to cut the croissants

This man live in a world where spoon is strong as hammer, and rubber spatula is sharp as knife

Considering each of these steps requires a significant amount of woodworking, this was an incredibly smooth animation. Hats off!

OK, wood is just non edible butter in the stop motion world.

I don’t know why a 5 month video has brought us all here, but I do know that in this moment, we all shared this wonderful piece of stop motion together and most of us will likely not get a moment like this again, so I will treasure it. Also the part where they fix the crooked nail was sick as fuck 🔥💯
