Yeah, camera movement is one of the big challenges in stop motion animation. It would be interesting to see more Behind The Scenes about pre-production and how you inspire to build your sets.

HarryAndBillyBrick I will take that into consideration :) Inspiration is hard to be specific about. It's generally pretty straightforward. "I have an idea! I need these things for the idea. I will build them!"

BrotherhoodWorkshop could you make the trailer for the first hobbit movie. You know leading up to the last trailer. Just so you have all three trailers.

HarryAndBillyBrick totally agree. this is something i am trying currently and it is a huge struggle. However my productions are not as advanced and as long as from Brotherhood Workshop but it can be challanging already.
Great video, crisp clear....super great job, we love them all...
I've been using camera movement a lot more lately, and I must say that thise techniques have really improved my videos! Also, to anyone who uses stop-motion studio: I suggest, and especially for camera movements, to try onion skinning. It is THE BEST.
Can't wait for the next video. You're really awesome!
Brilliant camera and minifig motion tips.
Your videos are always fun to watch, thank you for the hard work and effort you put into them.
Personally I have lego train city train track. Of which I built something to hold the camera with train axels on the bottom, and then just move the set up along the rails for each frame and block the wheels with bricks on the ties for each shot For making sure the subject is always constant I use onion skinning

Love this guy!
Great hints and tips, I need all the help I can get, my animations are getting better but yours are in another stratosphere, thanks again 😀👍😀
I really love and enjoy watching your videos on this. It's very interesting to see a fellow artist in the filming area making stop-motion. I am slowly learning this besides working on my art. Can't wait for your next video to come out soon :)
I love these videos.
Dude what you do is amazing
Major Skills right there.
Your stop motion is so smooth!😮
Dude, that's just incredible! I play LEGO from 3 age and your channel makes me happy and inspires me to making some new big mocs. Thanks for so interesting videos!
Thanks man this is an interesting technique, and it was helpful in understanding stop motion camera movement. For me that has been the most challenging.
Thx for this behind the scenes this will help me! 😉
I just want to say you are awesome man
Amaizing man.. Wow .. This is crazy
My first comment on KZread actually. Just saw your non stop trailer by coincidence. I just got to say: SO AMAZING! Your stuff is really cool! What a great talent! :) I'd love to see more behind the scenes!
I asked this question on the last video! Thanks for answering!!!
Very cool! I usually move the set rather than the camera as well. Just works better.
Awesome!
Your behind the scenes videos are so helpful, some Times I like them more then your actual films! XD

That was really interesting!
I suppose it's best to move the wooden table top instead of just the set because it limits your movements and helps your animations look smoother.
Good work, i loove :)
super cool, ill have to try this, cant wait for your next vid, i check like 3 times a day to see if u have any new posts!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the Advice!!
I love your videos!!!!!!
Putting your camera and tripod on some slidy foam-core is a brave move. Although you can't argue with the results and the price tag is appealing!
this was really help full thanks
You are awesome !!!
Love the vid
Very nice! ;)
Great tutorial!
Jesus Christ this is very difficult. Awesome bro \o
I just built a little wheeled cart out of LEGO that I tape my camera too. The few stop motions I've done all involved car chases, so a wheeled camera holder may not work as well for other stuff.
great video thank you very much!!
Amazing :)
Thanks for the tips
Great videos
Love it
Dang you're good!
I like these video's :D
Cool!
Very Clever to use just the heads to make the set look bigger/taller. I also noticed that you used the old Ronald Weasley Hairpiece next to the new Ronald Weasley Hairpiece. I also saw gorgy in Diagon Alley. Another thing I noticed is that the Barrel Escape set is placed on top of the Elven Halls as well as a the Map form the Goblin King Battle Set that the Scribe holds in professor Lupin's office. Also Is there a Rancor in the Background?
Do you work on lego projects simultaneously or finish them one at a time? It looks like you have a new Guardians video and a new Hobbit video in the works at the same time! Can't wait! You rock!
Awesome video! It would be really cool if you made a Star Trek one
How do you have the patience? Man, I admire you. I wish I could do something like that.

nice work
Hello BrotherhoodWorkshop, you have really good skills with animating. I would like to ask you, what will be the best technique to keep a minifigure without any shaking during a walk or a movement. And what's the best way not to lose/forget a movement when you are moving multiple figures. And when will you make a Star Wars project?

Joey Pishkin I agree with you regarding the Onionskin. However, only iStopmotion offers that, I am a Windows user using Sony Vegas and CS6, onion skinning does not exist for those versions.

***** I doubt you have the money for Dragonframe but that has onion skinning (Dragonframe is $299 though) and there is another free program called Sam Animation which has onion skinning

I would like to see your lighting techniques in your next tutorial.
This was really helpful. :) My stop motions are really shaky when moving to the next scene. Thanks for the help. :)
Epic :)
I’m gonna find this very handy in the future
Sweet tips, I will hopefully try these in my future films. Can you please make a video covering all of the aspects of advanced lighting? Thanks man, I appreciate it! :D

You know, you should try making a "Back to the Future" brick film! It'll be AWSOME!
Which Camera you could suggest to a Stop Motion video? Love all of your job man! Keep it that way!

Bobbricks123 I use a Canon T2I, and it's worked pretty well for me.
Omg I think I have the exact same tripod as you!!
Very useful video. Could you shoot video about making more smooth movement during montage?
You should really consider making animating tutorials, like walking, running and stuff like that! That would be great!! Did you go to comic-con this year? What about a video?
You rock
Useful thanks
Genius
To make the camera less shaky, I suggest taping a ruler to the floor to keep the cardboard from rotating
Your videos are always amazing! Some day I hope my videos will be as good as yours.
Do you ever shoot a move that's a bit shaky, turn it into video footage in Final Cut and then stabilise it later?
👍🏻 cool
Can you make a video on the lighting part of making good stop motion? How do you get the colors so nice?
Awesome video as always! I just have one quick question, what would you say is the most difficult part about stop-motion? Thank you so much for being my inspiration to make Brickfilms!
Great channel! PS You can use Warp Stabilizer in Adobe Premiere or After Effects for even more smooth camera moves
Cool
New hobbit video next week and guardians of the galaxy next. Please tell this is not a dream.😃

Your amazing
Great
BROTHERHOOD WORKSHOP!! Please make a video of the mines of moria!!
Can you do one for a more complex motion (like diving in and out or shaking (smoothly, not randomly)
I've kinda stop moving my camera and now only really on after effects presets for camera movement.
I once used the Steven Spielberg movie maker set and even I did stop motion with that, the camera weren’t all that though..... I still love stop motion till today, they say your a big kid at heart but I don’t care I love Lego animation even making them
you are soooo good at masking. I always make one or two mistakes. how do I prevent this?
@egg7212

Practice.
One quick tip maby: Try to use the Warp stabilizer from after effects. It might smooth out the camera moves :)
Can you please bring Jerry back? He needs more stories!
liked it
What settings do you use for your camera? Awesome video by the way.
Wow, that's really clever! Thank you for this tutorial :) Oh, and by the way, I've got a question: Are you making the music used in your videos on your own?

Maybe you could try to stabilise the shaky shots with adobe's motion stabiliser?
Could you do a tutorial on rotoscoping?
Wow helps so much! Was wondering how to do sliding shots without gettin a 50 dollar slider😂😂

Hey brotherhood workshop can you do like a 10-12 min. Video on behind the sense because I think that would be very helpful and if not try to do a lot more bts plz
do you know of a good and free "masking" program? because i can't afford adobe after effect for a while..
It would be brilliant if you showed us step by step how to make either a Triassic park stop motion or a shark stop motion step by step...
What advice would you give to someone who wants to go into animation of any kind
Do you only use adobe After Effects to edit? Or do you use something like Premier or Final cut also?
