Very true. Removes the charm of a UCS from lego. Definitely isn't better if you actually want a collectible that looks like lego rather than a plastic ship.

It looks great, but just comparing it to the actual thing you see quite abit of awkward proportions that don't make it the most accurate, especially the engine/missile silos.

300 is not cheap but if you wanna buy a lego star wars republic gunship its 600 brand new on amazon and its smaller less pieces and on eBay its around 300 brand new so getting this would save you a lot more money!

In my personal experience and opinion, the cost of having a visually appealing model is not at all worth having a flimsy or unstable build. That's why I often don't approve of or enjoy extremely over the top intracate models, because I know the pain through which the designer put his or herself through to achieve such a fragile creation.

@@derkaiser9881 design wise, no, not even close. The UCS gunship is literally immaculate design, the play set one is pretty rough looking compared to the UCS one or a MOC which is no surprise because that is almost always the case with play sets and that’s how it should be

GUNSHIP GANG IS BACK

Big sets like these really need a technic skeleton to support their weight. I wouldn't be surprised if lego made steel variants for future ucs sets with high weights on at key stress points.

Ohh that’s like the brickvault one with the brick build rings and the modular side pieces.

This is why I’m adverse to buying fan-made instructions. Even if you build it for display, something will give.

I already bought and build the gunship and I have the same problem whit the back section. Now I’m helping Spencer to make it more stable

1:36 this is one of the reason I usually don’t build mocs, the charm of lego are the studs, the studs make them special, lego are the only ones that have studs, and it’s what makes it different from other toys.

this will make a fine addition to my collection

It certainly looks accurate, but I'm not a big fan of these MOCs where there are basically no studs at all. Doesn't even look like lego at that point.

For the most part I agree. I think there are a few creations that are so realistic you can't tell they're Lego(like the Saturn V), and those ones are awesome, but this one doesn't quite reach that point. It looks like a mix between a model and a Lego and it doesn't quite work for me.

I like the brickvault one a little bit better and just a small nitpick but there shouldn’t be thrust there because they are the rocket launchers.

Awesome set love it and it could easily be fixed on the back with a little redesign

You could put kragle on the triangle part that keeps falling off just put a little bit on there

The body is WAY too long. David/Brickvault's design is definitely better but this still looks good, just nothing I would buy.

Such a clean-looking build. I know it's considerably more time consuming but maybe the occasional MOC review could be good for your channel.

Just snagged the 501st battle pack on amazon and also the AAT Damn it feels good

This is a good moc but i prefer when there are more studs showing as its in the lego style and not just trying to be an exact model

I hate the minifigure selection BUTT every thing else is just perfect

as nice of a display model as it is. it seems way too fragile for me to ever want. imo it's not a good sign if I need a piece of tape to hold the thing together. Even if I was just using it for display I would worry about it falling apart if I breathed on it the wrong way.

This model is based on the Gunship from the Clone Wars series as a apposed to the one from the movies which they have these doors in the series where as it’s not the case in the movies.
