Still think this is the best set by Lego so far, fantastic design, and fantastic price to part ratio

This is one the most intuitive and smart Lego sets of all time I hope this is the start of a new phase with Lego focusing on detail for MOC makers and enthusiasts and increasing play-ability for kids

This is true, inspiring LEGO design work. I didn't want to tackle making building before because of how brick intensive they are, however, this set proves to me that alternating between bricks and utilizing non-repetitive techniques can yield large and detailed looking buildings as well. I have to admit ... this set looks ridiculously great. And not just this set. Most of the Ninjago-Movie sets (especially the mechs, the green dragon and the Destiny's Bounty) are absolutely stunning, visually. I'm not exactly a fan of the whole Ninjago theme (it's not that i dislike it either, but as of today i mostly collect Lego Star Wars and some Lego Batman movie sets for good measure - and because i love the movie), but if i had some more money to spare, i'm pretty sure that's what it would go into.

The 'Good Day Ninjago' room makes me nostalgic for when I stayed at a traditional hotel in Japan, Lego's done a really good job capturing the feel of the culture.

This is properly the best lego set i have. I was incredibly fun to build and the details just amazed me all the time. I really recommend this set.

Absolutely phenomenal set and review. Also, after seeing your tweet about having over 1.5 hours worth of footage for this review, it really does make me appreciate what you do so much more.

I haven't really been invested in Lego recently, but this set made my jaw drop more than once. This may be the best Lego set... Ever. Just, ever. The detail, the size, the clever creative builds, the price per part ratio, the play features, the amount of minifigs and the detail of them. This is just remarkable. A masterpiece. I haven't bought a Ninjago set since Wave 1, but I'm tempted to drop the cash on this.

Apologies for only viewing this video a year after it was released... Hey, you forgot to mention the all-important coffee mug being used as the all-important roll of toilet paper in the bathroom... And in hot pink! Oh well, your video is nearly half an hour long, so I guess you're forgiven... It's amazing how the designers packed such a huge amount of detail in such small spaces and builds, and that makes this a true work of art. It's probably expensive, but definitely worth the price.

It's an unbelieveable set with tons and tons of detail! This set literally boosts lego designing in multiple levels, and I'm happy to see some extremely clever mechanisms they put into this set. Really excited about this set, it's a shame that there's no room in my house for displaying this wonderful masterpiece.

This is probably one of the best Lego sets to date in my humble opinion. No redundancy, lots of individual detail, ingenious hidden mechanisms, a variety of figures, and endless play-ability.

I've never bought a ninjago set but this would go nicely with my modular collection

Watched this back when u posted it, and I'm now watching again after having just built this over the weekend. It is now one of my all time favorite builds and sets ever. The detail is AMAZING. the whole building experience was so great from opening the box to placing the puffer fish on at the end. My ONLY complaint about this set, if u could even call it a complaint, is that it is SO BIG that I am going to have to do some serious rearrangement in my Lego room to get this on display along with the Temple Of Ninjistu, the Ultimate Temple of Ultimate whatever it was called, and all my other Ninjago buildings, as well as leaving room for the dock set coming this summer. 11 out of 10 set.

Just picked this set up, it came in a big shipping box from the store and everyone was looking at me weird as I walking out.

I've been waiting for this review forever. That thing is insanely dense and big! Now imagine an entire lego city at this scale and density! It already has the modular pins on the side...

It is just stunning, love the cherry Tree and all the attention to detail. they have surpassed themselves with this set. Great review as well.

Im just amazed at the price, this is one of (if not the best) deals Ive ever seen for a LEGO set. They could have charged 400 bucks, and it still would have been a great price. I will DEFINITELY be buying this set in the future

I love this set. Just the whole civilian Ninjago environment is amazing. It does something that few sets outside of the City ones do anymore. It creates the world and people that the theme exists in. BTW not to nitpick, but the recent Destiny's Bounty is the second largest minifig scale ship set. The only one bigger is Metalbeard's Sea Cow. The DB is actually larger in piece count and gross weight than the Imperial Flagship, although the flagship has taller sails. Ninjago City is the second largest "minifig scale" or minifig playable set. Only dwarfed by the newest UCS Millenium Falcon. And we only count that one because it now has an interior.

The UCS Millennium falcon is the 2nd biggest set, the first being The ultimate battle for Chima, with just over 10000 pieces. Only 2 were ever made, and were given as grand prizes for a contest.

I seriously want this set before it’s retired. I’ve always ignored the ninjago line, I’ve been a strict Star Wars collector but the Architecture on the ninjago buildings are beautiful, I just bought the city docks so I better commit to it! Thanks for the great reviews

I grew up with the Lego System sets of the 90's, and it's sometimes hard for me to love the Lego sets of today, particularly the non-city themed sets. However, these last couple of Ninjago sets have been stunningly beautiful and so creative. I envy the child (and the parent) who gets to build and play with the set. As a child, this would have made me so curious about East Asian culture and urban life. What a great way to open a kid's mind to a foreign place. Simply incredible.

Thanks to you once again I bought this while on sale. If it wasn't your review I would not look at any of the Ninjago Lego Sets, but now that I did I'm excited to get mine and to create a spot on my shelf to display it one day, or perhaps I'll bring out my inner child and start creating scenarios with the lego characters; putt putt putt goes the little boat.

I really love the style of this movies sets. Lego seem to have gotten their act together and have decided which direction they are going in terms of fully brick built, nice detail stuff. I also love the little references, especially them having a BELIEVE cat poster sticker lol.

At first I wasn't planning on getting this, but I need it now. The details are amazing, and I really love the ATM, sushi, and most definitely the crab oven. I think the only complaint I have is that we don't get all the ninja, but I feel that all the random citizens make up for that. Great great job to Lego with this set.

Jang you are really great at reviewing sets and I never waste my money on unplayable sets. Thank you so much Jang your channel is my favorite , well, other than Bri kite the and Greg’s world I watch three channels.

Quite an incredible set! Lots of minifigs and play features, I love the ATM machine, quite unique! There's a lot to see in this city, if someone wanted to build a Ninjago city, they're off to a great start with this set! Wow! This set is impressive. I've been building it all week in the evenings and I'm only halfway there. I love that there really are no bad angles to it or areas that feel unfinished or unpolished. It also goes well in a modular city display. Not perfectly as the sidewalks don't line up. But well enough. Everything is to scale. Oh and for those that haven't heard... rumor is we will be getting a follow up to this one. Set 70657 Ninjago City Docks. A D2C set expected in June. Once again rumor is a $299 price set and a box about the same size as the Town Hall.

Even if you aren't a Ninjago fan, like myself, this is still a great build with a lot of variety and a sort of organized chaos!
