I really want to cobble together some rock work, and when I get the astronomy tower which should be soon I will have all the 2018-2020 hogwarts sets. Then I want to try and make something somewhat like this.

This set is stunning I still have it in my backlog from Christmas 2020 and the only thing putting me off isms having limited space in my flat. I think it will become a side table.

I love micro-scale builds, so this is very tempting! Great review!

I love having this set on display! My only problem with it is that the two halves don't really snap together... I know that it makes it easier to move the whole build but when I want to just shuffle it slightly I hate that the two halves don't actually connect. Otherwise a real fantastic set! No regrets even buying full price for me!

So happy you finished it Holly! I worked on mine on breaks while working from home on my last job (Expedia… who decided to close our office after we finished the thousands of customers travel issues due to the pandemic… 🙄😒) I have it on display proudly top of one of my shelves. I have the entire Harry Potter LEGO collection displayed beneath and on a second shelf sitting kitty corner to it… who will have the giant Hogwarts icons set on top of it next… which leaves me to figure out what to do with my 2018/2019 Hogwarts great hall/astronomy tower and the entirety of the 2021 anniversary Hogwarts sets lol. This Hogwarts set though… I’ll always be in love with it. I put my sweat and tears into it (possibly blood too… some pieces definitely scratched me while trying to connect or put in the tiny details). I will always treasure it. Plus my boyfriend put in half for it so it makes me think of him always too. (Who I do plan to marry once I get a new job and can buy a ring… we are already 6 years together!)

I bought it today in Disney Springs lego store in Orlando after Someone nearly bought it, im so happy even though i just spended 509 dollars

Despite it being incomplete it still looks beautiful on top of my 6 ft shelf. It's also my biggest set with razor crest coming in second so I treat it well.

I almost bought this a few months ago before I found out about the stickers. Those will eventually tear or peel, and if you don't get them on properly the first try, then you have to remove & reapply them, which weakens the glue. And those micro figures...If you drop one, you might never see it again! I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and it all looks so great, but I just can't defend dropping what would cost me nearly $500 after tax & shipping for something that could've gotten some more love in design.

13:44 I think this is only the prefect bathroom (5th floor). Myrtle’s bathroom from the Chamber of Secrets is on the same floor as the message in blood from the heir of Slytherin. Edit: 13:50 Ooh. That’s a good point. The sink definitely feels more 2nd book/movie-themed. I’m currently building this set right now (I bought it because I was afraid the set was going to be retired). I’m considering moving the bathroom to the first floor when I reach that part of the build.

I think the founder of slythein has the same face and beard of the ocean king. I manage to get the crown, a fish tail and a weapon for him. Now I have my own version of the ocean king.

Agree on everything--especially the house panels--those should have been printed. Love the minifigs--and it's easy enough to order the new Gryffindor sword from BrickLink. (I wonder if LEGO Customer Service would mail one if you called and asked)

Darn. I have all the Harry Potter books and since I'm 13 I just started loving it. Currently on the 4th book (goblet of fire). It's really enjoyable and funny. When I was in 4th grade I feared Harry Potter books since they were very thick. But now I realize, when it comes to Harry Potter, the thicker, the better. I am getting a Harry Potter Lego set in January as a little gift. Also I would be in ravenclaw if anything. LOVE HARRY POTTERRR FOREVERRR

Looks like a great display piece. but for play purposes, im not a fan of the micro design... whats the purpose of including the figures if they aren't to scale with the castle?

I finished mine a few days ago and had loads of spare pieces, as long as there arent like ten of the same piece or pieces bigger than a 1x2 tile as spares, then those are okay

Now you must get the titanic and the Grand Piano this set retires this year so I don't see anyone getting a discount On it with the inflation great review 😍

Since I can not find any information or videos on this I am to assume it isn't possible or hasn't been done. But if anyone would know or have done it it would be you. I have the just recently bought this Lego set Hogwarts Castle (71043) and I already own the Hogwarts Astronomy Tower (75969) I was wondering if you had tried incorporating that set into the castle/if it was possible or if it would even look good. Thanks!

I'm a Harry potter fan and I've recently came into some money and I've got the privet drive and the Hedwig set but have wanted this for a while , the retiring aspect is pushing me to buy it at the moment but like is it worth it ?

I certainly think so, it seems like a set that will inflate after retirement and it’s the most detailed and accurate looking Hogwarts model they’ve ever done. You won’t need to buy a single Hogwarts play set if you have this

It’s by a company called Blackmilk Clothing. They call it a Gryffindor touchdown and have ones for each house but they’re all second hand now since it’s retired

I’ve kept mine in the plastic bags so I don’t loose them, I really like the inclusion of them but it sucks that they can’t sit in the chair builds. The Umbridge and Bellatrix ones are my favourites

You should stop comparing this to the film. It’s not based on the films it’s based on the books. Only the visual structure is based on the films. There are things in this that aren’t even in the films.
