The 4x6 black rounded car roof piece should get a 4x4 piece of the same type under it instead of the pointed plates and sit evenly in height with the 2 rounded lime green slopes at the top to make it even more streamline. U would have to set the 4x6 piece back a lil bit but it won't look like a receding hairline with this addition
I really like that modification. The longer arrow makes locomotive optically longer. The idea of having the motor in the front just like in metroliner is also a nice change. Personally I would think of adding a door handle part 60849 on the driver’s door both on locomotive and steering wagon.
The French TGV has at least two pantographs, because there are two different voltages in use, so the TGV has a pantograph for each voltage so it can access that location. Some TGVs can handle even more voltages, mainly the ones that work into neighbouring countries like Belgium and Germany

Pretty sure the motorized bogey was in the back so it had the full weight of the battery box resting on top to provide traction. However, as long as the motorized bogey doesn't slip when moved to the front, I definitely agree it's a visual improvement.

Nice modifications, Robin. 3:25 I used a 33° 1x3 slope 4286 and a 1x3 brick instead of your curved slope assembly. Works better for my inner Monk because it removes that tiny gap you get between the curved slope and the big lime one 🙂

14:00 This is the Acela Express, it has a locomotive on both ends with 2 pantographs on each. In other words, it's a little more nuanced than 1 per direction, some trains have a lot of them for multiple voltages, sometimes for redundancy, etc.

Great amendments! I love the "wheelswitch" the door and the new window plus all the little pieces of texture you added. In my opinion the small Roof over the drivers-cabin should be moved one stud back though. I hink it clashes a little with the slopes at the top (The "line" gets interupted if that makes any sense ). Hope that helps :)

(No more details between door and big triangle) (move the black roof back) (no more rounded parts) Then at the bottom you can fill with green bricks and some regular slopes = 1x2x1 or 1x3x1. ... Great builds and ideas on your channel. I noticed one thing when you ran this new version on your tracks. You need to "raise" the pantographs higher in order for them to reach the cables, Your double-deck rail cars are higher than the pantograph. Keep up the great content!

Very nice modifications Robin, the engine looks sweet. I like the added door details especially. Friday? Yeah! Another train video I hope!
Well, this definitely looks better. The first time I saw this set, I could not believe it was official. It looked weird. But getting rid of that over-sized AIRPLANE cockpit canopy definitely fixes the problem.
To me, the hole near the door in 8:12 can be where the External Egress Handle for the cab door in emergencies
Huge improvement over the original design. (The folks at Lego are really jealous now!) The original canopy on the locomotive and cab car reminds me of what you would see on the newer Shinkansen trains in Japan.
Great design the trai is really starting to look amazing.
honestly your cockpit mod really shows me how much I enjoy the original cockpit design. It looks much more aerodynamic. But your mod looks much more "lego train" which is just as valid as improvement. The rest of the mods I enjoy a lot. I would love to see the extra pantograph be protected by a cowling though, it sticks out like a sore thumb, which would not stand for a sleek high speed passenger train.
That is great improvements to a train I didn’t like at all originally. I certainly looks at home in Brick Nottingham.👍

With the pantergraph you could make it with 2 of the movable sort of hinge bricks that they use for digger buckets to make it look really realist and cool

Fantastic job!
Way better than the original! 👍🏻👍🏻 the only thing that botters me, is the gap between the roof front end and the two lime curfed slopes on the side of the new cockpit. I probably would shorten the roof by two studs. That should solve the issue.
Great changes!!!!!

I think the roof should be one stud back if possible to do. I also think there should be more windows on the cab car
Adding the door than just a window. 😊👍👍 The train s we have hear in Oz are new style. But have a door .plus exit door into the train caridge to .
Not sure about the new roofline. I think the doors look good (although in reality they would be flush with the sides I think it's a reasonable compromise) and definitely the loco number. However would the cab car/driving trailer have the same number as the loco when it's not a loco? The closest British equivalent train would be the Intercity 225s which are a rake of coaches with a driving van trailer (aka cab car) at one end and a loco at the other. They had different numbers from each other and could be separated off and changed between sets of coaches. I guess that might mean sticker splicing though so possibly not practical.
Seeing as the other power car doesn’t actually do anything I would turn it into a driving trailer with passenger accommodation

@@RobinHoodBricks oh yeah I thought the set came with streamlining at both ends. I meant there should be windows and doors in the cab car too. Since it’s devoid of functional equipment and all pantographs are at one end. That means it’s a push/pull type train
this time I an not quite convinced. overlap from the black hood piece is a bit weird, not that aerodynamic, same with the lime and white transition in the nose. But if you are happy with your build then that is all that matters 👍

Well the white overhang is tiny and in the original too but the roof I kinda agree with. We need a 2 wide roof section to enable both this and the cab car to be consistent!

I think the top lime curve is wrong, a modified brick with a side stud, a single stud slope wedge piece in lime and a single stud flat plate also in lime, might let you get a better upper curve going. Or should I say.... \_/ As for the nose white section, how about that three studs long reverse arc piece, Robin??? (70681) You'll want the L shaped one, there, might work better then those curved white pieces you currently have and with the near the roof-top modification I already talked about, above... It might let it look smooter. But you could also use curve 6091 & slope 54200 instead of that curve piece 50950. As for even more conversions..... How about two more cars? This for a proper six passengier car setup? You do know you have to replace those car door handels from grey to black ones, right? Oops. Is there a way to wire the wagons, so you can power the other end as well? Mmm, if you add two wagons, you could if so wanted, go for three sets of two wagons and two locomotives or you could tie two wagons to the locomotives, so the trein has four two wagon units. That one leaves you with three connector points needed to be crossed, which I bet you should be able to handel, right? Yes, you might yet power the other car as well. Go on and make her great looking. Say, do you have round flat plates with a red or green round or diamond patron on it? That way you can show the modern door openings button.
Do you think you can run this train with a total of 4 pf motors

This train is one of the ugliest designs Lego has ever put to market. There is so much wrong with it. Combining curved and straight slopes makes it look weird; the canopy is very out of place; the lime is very un-train-like; the weird blue headlights jutting out from in between somewhere look off. Just a big mess all around. It's like recently they want to show off irregular parts usage only for the sake of being different, like with the 'clever' truck front in set 60223.
