This set looks SIGNIFICANTLY better when it's closed up and you get to see the kitchen inside the noodle shop. I wonder why they didn't just advertise it like that.

Yeah, I remember getting Corner Deli and it was exactly like this one: a weird opened up house. I was like 10 at that time, sooo I took that extra base apart and due to that, I now close the house. But eh, looks better this way anyways!

Probably because ot looks much smaller like that and you can't see the inside as well

Or better way is to do it the 31105 style, the mini modular style, no need for hinges, easily compatible to a city, these style like this set is ugly when you integrate it to a city beside a set like 31105
Lego really needs to make a modular series of this size.

They kind of have, there have been a few at this size and most of them have the technic pins to put together
Wow, this set was truly designed by an expert designer. For one, I appreciate that the designer was able to consider people who appreciate closed-off buildings while keeping in mind the playability and budget. Both configurations look very different but excellent. And the details of the facade are what really draw me in. It has such an unconventional, yet fitting color arrangement. For me, this is the first time that the peach ‘flesh’ bricks blend in seamlessly. It’s complemented by the earth tones and that wonderful bright green. Also, the detailing is truly unbelievable with the newer inverted slopes. I almost think it’s more detailed than the older modulars. And all the details, from the sign to the tree up top, really give you that busy Chinatown district feel. I am considering scaling up the Monkie Kid Noodle shop using this template to see what can be done with this slightly bigger scale.
This a great little building, like a mini-modular, slice of downtown. And it's a somewhat unique subject matter. Plus we can always use more civilian sets, instead of just fire department and police. That arcade is great too. The only thing I don't like are the stickers. When the heck did stickers start appearing in Creator sets? I thought they were verboten in those sets! Or at least in the 3-in-1s.

Yeah, I feel like with 2 sets you could build a fullly enclosed apartment with a bed too. Expand it to a nice, complete, 24 or even 32 stud wide build. Only real thing id ad to the set as is would be a 3rd minifig and a bike

I think that the Pet Store Cafe had a sticker.

Stickers have actually been appearing for a few years in 3-in-1s now. As far as I know, they first appeared in the Fairground Carousel in 2019 and then once more in the Monster Burger Truck in 2020. Now they've appeared in two more sets this year - the Downtown Noodle Shop and Fantasy Forest Creatures. I'm not sure why they started adding them to begin with.

Yeah, this surprised the heck out of me that there's stickers here ... When I first got into Lego, I built quite a few 3-in-ones because of their rebuildability and later got more because there's no stickers. I'm partially blind, so stickers, even the durable Lego stickers, are kind of my bane and I suck at getting them on straight. I typically get sighted help, but that's not always an option. Even if I can't always tell if a sticker is crooked, the very thought of it being so just drives me nuts, thus the sighted help rather than sticking them on myself. I'd seriously pay extra for pre-stuck stickers, LOL!
"Fun to realize what it becomes!" may be one of the best things about building with LEGO. (I hope it never gets old!!)
I love these Creator 3 in 1 small buildings. Its basically a budget modular system where people can have their own city that doesn't take up an entire basement or something.
What I enjoy most about your reviews is they are of the LEGO itself, rather than only in the context of the theme.
Wow, I don’t collect city-style sets, but I really adore this. Every little detail is quaint and perfectly realized, with so many things cleverly built that I never would have dreamed of seeing in Lego form. It looks exactly like a noodle shop one could stumble into on a street in Japan. Beautiful little set, definitely tempting
3-in-1 is my favourite line of lego sets. To me it's the most true to lego spirit, it offers variety of sets, multiple options of builds ecourages creativity and doesn't utilize much specialized pieces, it takes from the pieces catalog and creates something unique out of it. Also it almost always come with a variety of colours of pieces which is nice and often offer really good value. I wish they released a bit more minifigure sets, but other than that I love that line and hope lego will keep making it for a long time. I do hope they don't make it an habit of putting stickers in those tho, we had some in the burger monster truck too, but normally they don't use them in 3-in-1 and it's better when they don't.
Love the design, especially the clear indication of accessibility to different floors for minifigs. Price can be a bit lower but overall a very nice set.
Jang, that wrench isn't for a broken stove. It's the Widow Maker, used to defend the noodle place from would-be robbers. 😀
New creator building are cool, but I really miss old fully builded houses with garages etc.
This set is great on its own and has lots of potential for mocs 😊
I have recently started watching these videos and man, I love these. you have such a calming voice and it’s nice to listen to you talk about the set, thanks for the video!
I love that every alternative build uses the bike frane in a different way
Just bought and built this set the other day, very nice build. If you remove the 8x8 on the side with the vending machine, you can also open the hinges all the way, giving it the appearance of two buildings from the front, which I like. I think Lego should consider making City sets like this--two 8x16 halves that appear as one complete building when closed, but two facades when opened. Builders could create a city block on a smaller scale than the Creator Expert modular line (don't get me wrong, I absolutely love those sets; I just appreciate options).
This is a really well designed, good-value creator model that is fun!
Your LEGO reviews are still the best for me. Watched a different review of this set and the reviewer didn't go over the other builds at all and didn't even close the set up! One of the main features and he just ignored it! Now that i see this closed it up it looks much better and I'm actually considering getting this now!
I just want to say that I really appreciate you and your channel, keep up the great work!
I got this for my niece for Xmas, probably one of the cheapest enclosed buildings you can find.
I’m a sucker for creator sets like these, always got a lot out of the 3 in 1 aspect when I was younger and I’m happy to see they’ve kept up the quality
This is an amazing mini modular! I love the little details
I purchased three of this set to build all 3 sets, and then I used the remaining parts, and a few of my extra Dark red bricks to make an additional corner bend for the bike shops like with the noodle Shop, so I had somewhere to put the ATM from the icecream heist set, also extending the top staircase balcony and adding a garden bed on top of it.
I'd love to see you put this building in another "small" modular building compilation video like the one you did a couple years ago. Maybe when a couple more have come out. I wish Monkie Kid continued the street buildings in the last two waves, but I guess the City Of Lanterns set makes up for it..?
Set like this are terrific, not only you learn simple but good lookigng techniques, combining two of them gives you enough bricks to make you solid buiilding with good colorsheme.
I always pick up the regular 'downtown' 3-in-1 buildings eventually when they're on discount, and this one is no exception. I love the fact they've gone back to the fully-enclosed design.
This has a lot of charm for a creator 3 in 1, and the alternate builds look pretty good too. I’d be happy to see only slightly modified versions of all 3 sitting in my city.
My favourite parts of this in terms of design are the ice cream cart, and the way they did the dog. Its so small but has so much mobility
I’m happy the fully closed buildings are back. Makes it easier to implement into a city
I’m loving the mini modular sets. Will def pick this one up
I just built the surfer beach house from the same theme. I like this type of dollhouse structure that can be open or close. This is perfect, like close for display and open for play !
This is great and I love how it fits with the other modular buildings
Fun subject, inspirational build, fantastic pieces.. easiest buy decision of any Lego set this year!
This is great for those with smaller spaces. I like how it closes up. Thinking of getting a 2nd set to add a bedroom and bathroom
Looks like a Roller Coaster Tycoon-inspired "Noodle Stall 1" can now come to my amusement park.
Just bought this set! Can’t wait to built it, it’s a such a cute little shop :)
Looks like a nice build by itself but I personally can't get myself to buy any of the buildings that fold open. In my old lego city I had a few of the early hinged buildings, the bicycle shop/ café and the bigger family house with the garage. The problem with those sets and all newer sets is that they can't really be implemented into city displays without leaving large gaps. The older buildings were much easier to integrate.
Excellent Review. Informative and fun to watch.
This set with yet another icecream vending thing has me wondering if icecream is a staple food for minifigs, rather than dessert.
very helpful review I have been wanting this set since it came out. finally got it today, it wasn't on sale but it was part of a 10 gift card promotion at target so saved some money there for a future purchase.
Got this set yesterday and it’s amazing!
Thank you for the review. I enjoyed it and I am considering it.
This is a nicely designed set for its size
Lovely B and C models :) I especially like the controller on the roof
Superb review I fancy it for the city of lanterns
What a neat set, I love pretty much everything about it.
This was my first adult Lego set, and we got two of them!
Underappreciated.
I got this set to tide me over until my City of Lanterns set arrives and I absolutely love it! I added some knick knacks and little details like extra antennae, a solar panel, and a couple of security cameras to give it a bit of a grungy city feel.
Looks very cool!
It's time to have it now it's in discount around 38€ / $. Really good value now. Many shops still have it even if it retired
this is a great little set a fan of the little ice cream bike!
Good thing you are on top of the prices, a thing a lot of other Lego KZreadrs should do. I don't know if it helps, but considering the size of your channel at least it will be heard.
I'm looking forward to this creator 3 in one the most!
I like the idea of the arcade machine!
Thanks for this review! I really liked this a lot when I started looking at it but something doesn't click for me.. idk what because on paper this is a really solid set. Plays well and has a lot of detail for the size
You often discuss “amount of stuff” and for 45 dollars this is a nice, hefty amount of stuff. Love this mini modular approach.
I’m a big fan of the 3in 1’s gives you options and also a great main build(good for those who want a city without a big $200+ price tag per set)
This set is so cute
Really well designed set
Managed to buy 3 for £28 each. Great buy.😀
I'm thinking of blending this with another set but I think I will have to substitute a few peices for them to connect. The top has a bedroom so the upstairs could be an entire apartment.
Well for me, since I have a lego table I would use it in a corner so the building looks a bit bigger and it would look really nice with my other creator buildings.
Wanted this when I first saw it. Finally have something for my sushi chef!
Love the set! Would 100% buy two of them to do the main and the “B” model but the price kind of puts me off to that idea. But would still buy
I think this set is great. I think getting two sets allows an additional story to the apartment and also a way to expand the noodle shop down below. Thoughts?
Getting it next week (I hope)
I really want this set so that I can display it next to the 3 in 1 Toy Shop and Pet Store and Cafe to create a small city block.
I think this might be the most popular creator 3-1 set this year
Nowhere to put this set but I think I will buy it nonetheless - a great little build!
In the C model that dog is pretty big. The poodle of the Baskervilles!
Looks like another simple set that fits perfectly into a price range
I found a $50 Target gift card I never used while cleaning so I'm thinking about buying this with the card :P
The wrench is a eating utensil for the bolt shaped noodles.
Got this set and didn’t like the door on the first floor so with modifications I was able to instead make it the news stand from the bike shop alternate build. It looks better now. Also two mini gigs isn’t enough. If I were to a noodle chef and customer, the ice cream stand is empty. And the apartment.
I think the bike shop might be the best one due to the color scheme. Wish it was deeper though.
The wrench is for fixing dinner.
honestly this is one of the few sets in recent years where the price feels acceptable. I can do this, and not feel ripped off
Could this set be used as a affordable apartment setup with some modification?
Bike shop best 😊
I don't know why this makes me want to build a little modular town... I really don't need to but it's really quaint.
Have creator sets used stickers before? I don't recall.
Parts left over from the Hotel modular?
Interesting choice of dog... instead of including one of the existing dog figures you will build one here. Since it is a noodle shop i wonder if the dog is a poodle... :)
When will you review the Lego train from 2022 I'm waiting
Why did they change and start putting stickers in the 3in1 creator sets? Does it not limit the "rebuildability"?
@seamarie3111
Жыл бұрын
That's what I was wondering. The sets I have from the theme are a couple years old now, I think I got my last one in 2019 or so, as I've been building other themes, but I remember if they wanted any detail on a piece they just provided a workable print from their parts catalog. I don't mind Lego's stickers, they're very durable and last well, but I stink at putting them on right as I don't have good eyesight.
@frostedbutts4340
Жыл бұрын
There have been a few over the years, tbh I think this one is fine because that wouldn't get much use as a print.
Oof, olive looks to have consistency issues too. The 1x4 bricks look noticeably darker than the other pieces, at least on camera.
If I can get y'all opinion would you rather have which set 31118 (vs). 31131
Crazy that LEGO is charging the same price in the USA for 60345 The Farmer's Market Van and this which has 259 more pieces.
WOW that's wayy cheap!! I'd rather get this price without the road plates lol
Dunno - the color scheme seems a bit too wild - can´t really tell what´s supposed to be base- or accent-color anymore...on the B model it´s way better without the dark red. Other than that it´s a nice detailed lil set with lots of possibilities.
flesh colour bricks. Do you mean like yellow?
i want to get thiss lego
Im so using this as Pigsies noodle shop from monkie kid. (as i cant afford the actual set 😂)
I bought it, built it and found it to be incredibly tiny. Wouldn't brag about it as a set. Expected more for the price.
This set is $35 USD at Costco in the USA
Hey it's ichiraku's ramen shop
Unfortunately at $75 here this is an even worse value than the Corner Deli which retailed for $15 less just six years ago (inflation isn't normally nearly as much of an issue here). It looks like a worthy successor for what it is, but as a parts pack there's too much part variety, exemplified by the large amount of leftover parts in the alternate models. I really want that Creator St. sticker, though.
oh its a hearing aid.....i thought it was some kind of alien parasite .... ala galaxy squad
No minifig chopsticks? How will they eat?

There are chopsticks! Small tan wedge piece in the woman's hand and one in the spares.
