LEGO City Town Square Update! New Modular Buildings!
Ойын-сауық
Today we work on the LEGO city Town Square! In doing so we create two brand new modular buildings. The modular building have very interesting designs as they are 1/2 baseplate corners. In addition to reviewing and placing the modular, we also finish building the park plate out front of town hall!

Nice, if you bring the fountain up by one plate you could actually "fill" the little gap between the tiles and curved pieces.

Indeed. We would have to raise it up by one plate and run tiles under the curved pieces to do that successfully.
Those are very cool looking half-sized modulars! That designer is talented. Another idea would have been to possibly purchase another City Hall (costly, I know) or source the bricks to make 1/2 or 3/4 tall east & west wings of the City Hall to fill up those spots. It would have made the City Hall look more prominent and impressive. Just an idea. Thanks for all the fun content!

I was thinking the same. Love the size and placement of these MOCs but think they would look even better in matching red brick
I saw someone on Instagram who made a taller mills plate and put in a sewer road work scene. It got me thinking that you could make some mills plates taller and then build in q slope to it which would make some small hills on the roads or just in general. It would add depth to the city. Not sure how easy it would be to integrate but it is an interesting idea.

plus he could get some proper room for basements or half basements

I saw that too, it was like five bricks high/thick? That's just dumb to be honest. Is every road plate going to have road work/pot holes in it lol. Good for him but a waste of bricks in my opinion

@@isaacallender Right. After Bricksie has done all of this work I doubt he's gonna want to tear it down and redo it again.

I think if he makes custom tables, you could plan 1 base plate sized drops in the tables. That way you could just do deeper mills in a small section under a single building or just under the road :)
Okay, hear me out. Those 3 buildings looks very good. But putting them together like that in a block makes is very boxy, even more with the roof from the building on the right higher as the other 2. So I think it will look way better if you move the town square at least 2 stud forward, and maybe even place them a brick higher with extra steps on the entrance stairs. Just a suggestion. Great content as always!

Interesting concept. We will have to look into doing something like that. Thank you for the suggestion
Dude I love that water effect in the fountain, that light aqua illusion is so good.
Mrs. Bricksie did a awesome job. Very talented. Both buildings look great. City is coming along vert well.
I love the corner buildings. Great job Josee! The center square in front of the Town Hall is super nice.
So nice, so wish for the Town Hall. Like the trees and the waterfall your city is very nicely decorated with very nice pieces.
Looks good. I would have preferred it if the buildings were symmetrical on either side in some ways though
Looks amazing! I'm so impressed! I think the colors look just fine. Thanks for sharing!
It looks great! Love the pop of color it brings to your city.
Looks fantastic!!!
The modular buildings turned out very beautiful and you made the Town Hall area so great looking with all that greenery, tiles and a fountain! Wow)
Looks amazing. Town Square looks fantastic.
Town square looks good. Admire the effort you guys put into this. That bar next to town square needs an Irish flag! 😆
Awesome indeed! I love town square and those half mods.
So lovely to see the fountain ⛲️ with some water in it! The area is really beautiful and minifigures will just put the icing on the cake! Good job man!
Wow looks amazing bricksie. That square detail I can just imagine walking through it.
The houses and the fountain looks pretty! I love it!
This is a great idea! Those instructions turned out great in real life.
the city is looking awesome. i wish to be 5cm and just explore your city can't wait to see the forest are to be converted rebrickable is awesome Bricksie and Mrs Bricksie work day and night to complete the MILS conversion
This looks great good job 👍 😊
Love the new and improved Town Hall area. I can't wait to see it fully populated. Good luck with the rest of your conversions and stay safe.
Very nice video you done thanks for sharing.
Definitely looking good.
Wow, the town square looks amazing! You and José did a great job! I love all the trees and plants you added and that the he grass overlaps on to the tiles. Also the little modular buildings on both sides looks great!
Beautiful!!
Looks fantastic.
Awesome build man! The comer building really make the town hall pop. It’s just funny, I’ve never seen a multi level gym😂 great build though
That's way cool. I always enjoy watching your videos
I love this !!!!! nice man
That looks awesome I really like the laundry matt, then the front there, it honestly gets me excited and want my own city 🤪😀
Looks so amazing and cool!
Looks great!

Looks great Bricksie love your video’s!
Thanks for another video! You have inspired me to start making my own city!
Awesome look.
You have the best world!! 👏👏
Nice! The town square is looking good.
Looks great! I really like those modulars.
Looks so good! You can really see the issue with the tables now. Looking forward to seeing how you ultimately probably undo the whole city to build a new table. Going to be a lot of work!
You can recreate the clocktower delorean scene from back to the future. You just need a a moc lightning rod for the car.
Cool city town square build
Awesome. Very Tartarian architecture. I love the city .
I loved the hard cut showing the difference from WIP to complete in the town square. It made such an impact.
Love your work!
awesome video jordan you and mrs bricksie did an amazing job on the new modular buildings
Great job Josee, and you Jordan👊😜 Kind regards from Denmark👋
The first modular looks funky with a white roof I would try it in black

How many times did I say "we used the parts that were available in our inventory" lol. In order to change the colour we have to order more parts.
Super video Super modular
It looks great! But it’s too white i think you should match more with colors from downtown core
@Bricksie
2 жыл бұрын
I mentioned that we're going to source slopes in a different color and swap them out. We were just working with the parts we have.
Those half side modulars are so cool! I love all the details inside them. I have never tried Rebrickable as my parts collection in lacking compared to yours and I don't really buy seconds of sets or want to change them. They also look really good together with Town Hall!
Useful video Bricksie! Like!
I think this looks great. I have a similar problem with a large park that I made and placed in front of my City Hall. Your solution might also solve my problem! Thanks for posting.
Those little buildings are so cool! Hope the designer can see this video. A lot of designers don't even build their own buildings with real LEGO, they just keep it all in Studio. But yeah maybe down the road in your next PAB order you can order some roof pieces for that white/gray building and change em out a bit that way the color flows more with the downtown core area
The half modular buildings are pretty cool. The flower shop modular looks similar to the cafe and music shop building part of assembly square.
Its very Nice building in your Lego city Nice.
looks pretty amazing all around. You could dress up the laundro/gym with a leftover Soap N' Suds billboard from your extra police station. 2nd location!
Wouldn't it be cool if you could transform the top floor of your flower shop into a grow space. I am thinking a long table of various types of flowers, with maybe a small work space near the stairs with some empty pots. Maybe some sort of grow lights hanging from the ceiling.
The Town Hall and square closely resembles the Clock Tower from Back to the Future. Nice.
Great modular buildings. I really like the retaining walls in the plaza, I think you should replicate that on the other 2 quadrants and add a couple of park benches.
This looks great, keep up the good work. I hope everyone is having a nice day! :D
Tres manifique!!! Looking good in brickmonton!

Thanks man!
Those are nice builds and I think with different colours could be even better. That said I think I like the town hall on its own better. Maybe some large trees that flank both sides and some green space. That or extensions of the town hall itself. Some custom builds that mirror each other on both sides. This though I’m not a big fan of. They might look good in other spots though because they do look good individually
The two corner building by the town hall should be extortions of the town hall. Also the thumbnail looks amazing
@Bricksie
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah others have suggested that. It would look cool, however we would have to order all the pieces required to do that. We wanted to see if we could build these without any addition expenditures. Thanks I like the thumbnail too!
The half Modular’s are beautiful but I think “wings” to the town hall would have looked more cohesive with your town and balanced the landscaping better
@Bricksie
2 жыл бұрын
Indeed, but that would require ordering parts, which we did not have to do
Looks great.

It must be a satisfying feeling to look at your huge Lego city 😊 Wish i had so much place to build such a great city. But my daily bugle will stand alone, maybe it will stand next to my mos eisley cantina. So i got a mini crossover city 😂
Your city is the coolest thing ever yeah like all the retired sets which is cool my favorite speech champions and you have all the ones I’ve been always wanting

Thank you for harding my comment
@bricksie I think you should change the year on city hall to the year you started the city or the year you built your first modular building. - overall things are shaping up great 👍 well done.
Looks good, kinda think you should just extend Town Hall on both sides though. Maybe a 1 or 2 story addition. A Bricksie massive Town Hall rebrickable!
You should probably do this in your updated city with the town hall
incroyable vidéo
Im a New subscriber and you are very cool
Once you get the pieces, you should change the white roof to black.
I tend to agree with most of the other comments. If I was a city planner, I would absolutely not allow the fronts of the two new buildings to be on the same plane as the city hall. City hall should hold a place of prominence, as you have allowed for with green space in front. At the very least, the two additions should be set back, and held to a height restriction lower than the city hall, balance it out.
Hey bricksie, have a great day, loved the video like always

Did anybody notice that there are two laundries opposing each other? Isn’t it weird?) But still nice transformation done to the city!
@Bricksie

Gotta have that competition!
You should make your own custom modular for the city based off something like your KZread channel maybe a building that has a miniature size of you lego city.
have you considered a checkerboard pattern of dark grey bricks around the fountain? Or maybe a line of them following the shape of the fountain? it's currently rather bland around it (whereas the trees have lots of detail) and it would use some of the dark grey tiles you're not short of.
@Bricksie
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I might try some different combinations of color to make it pop a little more. Minifigures will help it significantly as well when we get to that stage
I love the videos and design of the new modular buildings , but laundry place and gym just next to the town hall are a bit weird as an interior for me.
@Bricksie
2 жыл бұрын
Indeed - the interiors could easily be changed. Luckily you can't see those details from the outside
You should put construction guys around the areas that you take out the light gray tiles for other parts of the city. Lol
In my opinion, the White building on the right is a little too tall. By bringing it down one story, the town hall will stand out more.
think you should have just extended town hall to fill the spots instead of putting two rando buildings,
@Bricksie

That be cool. Give it two corner looking sides. Interesting idea
Double posting today :) Now that your making your way through the MILS plate updates, any chance you'll do lighting? That city would be absolutely insane with lighting.
@Bricksie
2 жыл бұрын
Don't think we are mentally prepared for lighting lol. That would look really good but wow it would be a ton of work!
Any plans for adding lights?
is that the Back to the Future clock in the Town Square?
personally, i would make like a 1 tile gray path around the fountain :) looks really cool though
@Bricksie
2 жыл бұрын
Might be cool to change up some of the tiling for sure. Also like other have suggested I have to raise up the fountain and have the tiles go under the curves to eliminate the exposed studs
Now that Town Hall is completed, you have a fun opportunity to place Marty McFly with the Hoverboard right in front, or Doc Brown right beside the Clocktower and recreate the scene from back to the Future 1. What can i say? I,m a nerd =D
Other than the Daily Bugle and the Firehouse from Ghostbusters, what other sets did you use to make this? I'm only asking because the beauty of this is impossible to find words for.
I find white roofs to be indicative of snow and no normal building would place white on a roof I suggest changing the white to match the others roof’s so it doesn’t clash.
@Bricksie
2 жыл бұрын
I agree. As I said throughout the video, these buildings where built using the parts we had, so color options were limited. We plan on placing orders to change up some of the colors.
what is mils plates??
I would remove the fountain tile the whole area flat adding in some jumper plates and place the fountain on that slightly raising it but will hide all those gaps around it hat you can’t tile

Hello my favourite lego youtuber.
the new Town Square looks really nice 👍 like the 4 little green spots in the corners. BUT 😉 ... my opinion : the right White/LBG Corner MOC seems to be 4 to 5 bricks too high beside Town Hall ?
@Bricksie
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I have removed a floor to reduce it's height and I think it looks pretty good
U should upgrade the trees a lot more they look to bold in my opinion lol
Since you’re using mils, why not replace the foundation with a pond for the depth of underwater
I think the modular on the right would look better if you removed one floor so it wasn't taller than Town Square
@Bricksie

Tested that and I think it looks pretty good. Thank you for the suggestion
I would wanna go there if it was real
