I Improved all my LEGO Modular Buildings!
Ойын-сауық
Today we change all the tiles on the LEGO modular buildings! Why were they dark gray in the first place? That is the big question... to me it made no sense! So in this LEGO city update we change all of the tiles from dark to light gray.

I think the original colours of the sidewalks may be based around how sidewalks are done in a decent amount of what I've seen of Europe with asfalt sidewalk with a stone border

In the Netherlands the roads are asfalt en the pavement is cement/concrete. So Brickmenton is the same as that.

Bricksie it looks really nice 👍🏼🤩
This looks awesome! I totally agree the dark grey accents look awesome. They really do pop! I am so excited to see the new modular buildings you are going to do!
I have an idea for what you can do for pop culture street. Since you don’t have anything for ninjago I think I’d be a great idea to build borg tower. Also since you don’t have anything for DC I think you could do a Wayne tower or a hall of justice. Also I would love to see you add another floor for Seinfeld in the sitcom tower. Whatever you do your city will still look amazing and I can’t wait to see what you do with it.
I love your lego city
8:12 I would think that the Grand Emporium little 1x1 tile in middle of white meander should also be converted to light grey (as it was dark grey before)
Looks great! Nice conversion.
Light gray all the way, you should add fire hydrants throughout the city I think the red spread throughout would add that extra bit of cool consistency

We actually have a few made. They'll be added when we add all of the other details!
Love the changes of the buildings looks epic bricksie.
I liked the end result and the re-organisations you made. They looked good but also made sense.
Some insane progress going on at the minute. It's amazing how the gloss on the new road plates really makes the city pop 👍🏻
Looks good!!
Looks so good!
Yay can’t wait for the detailing .
Another big improvement! I love the double townhouses, they look great together. Also, it's touches like the driveway ramp to the hospital garage that really make this City look great.
City looks great. Loved the video
All looking A-1 my Friend! Really like the whole Mils conversion n all the new details to come with it.
You’re correct, great upgrade. Looks much better. A very subtle change that did make a huge difference.
It looks so cool I might do this!
Awesome job. It looks great with the light gray titles. Can’t wait to see your next video.
I was just thinking it would be awesome to do the clock on the town hall like the clock on the town hall in “Back to the future” and ad a wire for lightning to strike.. then but the small Delorion by there.. if it’s the same scale of the other cars.
Wow it looks amazing man, freaking love modular buildings, they're so satisfying to build and display.
awesome video jordan the new sidewalk looks amazing with all grey i love the choice you made
I'd say keep the section of Assembly Square you're thinking of ordering parts for to keep as light gray that way everything blends in. I can totally relate to having to look at the gaps. It's like looking at that perfect painting that still doesn't feel finished even though it is you know? Great job with the conversions and I can't wait to see how you convert the residential section. As far as Pop Culture Street goes, if you can find a MOC rebrickable of The Daily Planet, you could put it right across the street from The Daily Bugle presuming there even is a rebrickable model for it.👍😀
I actually really like the look of the sidewalks now. Looks very good and uniform. I'll be honest the sidewalks before never really bothered me that much, but now everything kind of blends in well together.
In the UK there is a mix of asphalt and concrete sidewalks (pavements). I think the buildings themselves are the important thing. Nice vid!
So much brighter now and looks really lush in fact 👍
In the empty spaces, you should put some construction vehicles there to make it look like they are starting to build the next building.
Man, I love the city with the light grey sidewalks! Looks super clean now and ready for the detail as you say. It a lot more like the cities and neighbourhoods over here when it’s done that way too. Cheers my friend! 🍻
In England and Europe the pavement is dark gray most of the time

However the light gray looks better
The pathways might be dark grey and light grey as they could be based off of the pavement in England.
Hi Bricksie, I remember you amazing videos at 30k subscribers and the content has just been going up hill which is amazing. Keep up the good work!!!!!
Wow! Nice!
Really like these new changes. light grey definitely better and less dark. the building really pops! Also, I think you made the right decision to move the shop and cinema around. great job!
Looks really sharp.
So much work. So much effort. Looking better and better
I always like the dark grey over the light grey just because I always have more dark grey in my collection them I do light grey when it comes to tiles. The steps on the corner outside the cinima work a lot better then they did with the grand emporium that is for sure.
The sidewalk color is an issue. I am following a similar approach. As I build new modular’s, I build them directly on MLS plates and use the light gray instead of the dark gray. Thanks for providing video guidance. :-) 😊
Awesome Bricksie🖤💙💚♥️😎😎😎
I'm a big fan of the dark grey/light grey contrast in some of the buildings. Good work.
Every one of your videos amazes me with how much you can get done in one sitting. Some of these projects would take me a month and you get them done in hours! Lol Great job as always man, keep it up! Are you gonna leave the dark gray ring around each of the lampposts? I noticed you left that on the college sidewalk and I kinda like how it looks
Lovge to see the fast evolutiom of the site, tanks from brazil
Such a simple change, but it looks so much better!
Is there a Lego things at Hudson's Bay store in Edmonton?
Suggestion: put the dark gray tiles on the rooftops to cover those knobby studs.
Light Gray looks awesome! The city is looking great!
As an idea you can place extra 2x2 star tiles near along the cinema block and have a scene of movie actors lined up
Love how the cinema looks! So different from the others
New to your channel. Great work of your Lego City.. I'm going to go back and watch some of your older video's. just wondering where you source your extra Lego bricks from, beside from Lego sets? example the 2600 light grey tiles, etc ? Just getting into the Lego hobby, and getting ready for retirement, i need something else to do to relax the mind and soul (and also keep the grand kids busy, so i catch 40 winks in the afternoon..lol) I've done the planes, trains and automobile hobby things, but with every hobby, it can get very expensive (maybe grandpa can ask for Lego sets for his birthday and christmas from the grand kids, instead of grand kids asking grandpa to buy them for them..lol) I look forward to future youtube video's on your Lego city. take care and stay safe..
I feel like the spring lantern set could be part of the awesome green park that you’ve been adding around. It would make a good corner of the park perimeter that you are making instead of giving it its own square
Palace Cinema is for sure the best looking modular building with exterior glasses on, and it became better with a fresh change! Awesome 👌
I like the light gray sidewalk , I think it looks really cool 😎
Can't wait to see what the grass areas will look like with Mills
nice video
I did the exact same thing today and assembly square took for ever
seeing the grand emporium in the thumbnail made me happy
Hey bricksie i saw that you had empty places in the city and thought that you should make a custom building of the brick bin,i know it sounds wierd but i think it be cool to put it in because you personally love the stall and i think it would look great
incroyable vidéo
Lego City is looking sick Bricksie.
You can move the police stadion next to the boutique hotel. Nice update
You need parking! Otherwise, your shopping district will fail. :(
What camera/mic setup do you use to record?
Hey bricksie, maybe you could reconstruct the trainstation into a underground parking garage. Then you can make a custom modulair above it. Because right now the trainstation doesnt realty match with other buildings in your city. Then you could build a underground garage in the same style as the Lego modulair buildings. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱.
I think the tile change was a good idea for your city because it's so large, it makes it all look clearer and brighter. Looking forward to seeing the detail and minifigures being added. I have a much more modest layout in an L shape so don't think I'll change mine, but never say never... I really want to add the detectives office and palace cinema though after seeing yours again, may have to have another expensive month! 💷💷💷🤔
Hola bricksie, una pregunta, como limpias el polvo de los legos?, yo debo tener solo como un 5% de lo que tienes tú, si llega, y me tiro una semana limpiandolos, por favor dame una idea. Gracias
I dunno, anytime, a lego city tries to skew to realism too much, it kinda detracts from the charm of the Modulars, cause the modulars themselves aren't actually 1:1 scale. Like having the sidewalks be completely light grey is fine but I like the differentiation between the dark grey and the light grey borders.
Looks Freaky Fresh. Lol
Dammit, these light grey tiles look indeed better. Now I have to do this too ppfff. Perhaps using 4 x 4 light grey tiles (do they exist?) instead of the 2 x 2, to look more like the concrete slaps they use like in NY
The reason why they are gray is because they are based in Europe and not in America
I noticed at 1:11 one grey tile has 5 scratches rip tile
Hey mate how about shifting the train station to the train line near the spring lantern festival, or move the festival backdown the line closer to the entrance of the fair ground by two mills then you can continue your street past the diner to the train station
Love the change to light grey tiles, it makes the city look a lot brighter. Inverting the tiles is a huge improvement IMO as well. The only thing is that it makes me want to change my sidewalks, which is great, but I will have to write another apology letter to my wallet. Also really like the placement changes :D
I do agree that the light grey is better. If I had the tiles I’d do that as well. The contrast to the street colour is a good thing
Get some light grey ! 2x4 tile!
👍
I thought that Lego modular building and mills plates are connected to each other by technic pins ?
I LOVE YOUR LEGO CITY I did it I finished my lego city thanks for the help Jordan
Now I know why all light grey tiles are out of stock 😉
It's more realistic but I'm not sure I am 100% on the light grey. I do like the just light grey but it is staring to look a bit more plain. I do like it and it looks good but it isn't my personal choice. But this was a great video and I really did enjoy it!
I'm 50/50 on light gray, it looks good but a lot of me likes a 1x along the road, then the main sidewalk dark gray. I'm not sure why, maybe it's because light grey looks too bright of a shade.
Make a batman moc that would be sooo nice
I see that you came to the light side
Bro make video on collection of space and NASA sets and collection of Construction control+ type of sets 🔥🔥🔥🔥
City is to clean, you need some activety, mini figures that works on a open street or riolering (streetworkers, sand, ect ect)
I still like the light gray and dark grey together, however all light gray isn't too bad. The boutique hotel closer to the amusement park makes more sense
For me light gray tile is much better to see than the dark one
Wait what
What are you going to do with all thous dark gray tiles?
@Bricksie
2 жыл бұрын
We'll just use them somewhere else!
The light grey looks way better
Not trying to burst the bubble but now can we call it pop culture street🙃
Are you going to get Lego star wars the Skywalker saga?
I think the kerbs should have also been reversed
i just want to let you know that your content is amazing and stay up to 12:50pm to be one of the first people to veiw it
The city looks a lot cleaner with the separation of the sidewalk and road colors. great job
kash it bac
0:16 american moment
Shouldn't the Disney building be in the pop culture area?
Yay I’m your 101 comment and 1200 like for this video what the odds jordan haha
Hi Bricksie, I'm so happy to be a member now, but I'm not sure where to go from here. Help please. Thanks! :)
