LEGO City Campground Update! MILS Dirt Road

Ойын-сауық

Today we start working on our MILS campground! We start off by completely stripping our existing campground, and then adding a super cool gravel road and creek using MILS plates. The area is starting to look awesome, and we can't wait to continue working on it!

That little creek would look good with a cute little wooden bridge over it. Can't wait to see the campsite completed.

What would look cool is having the “dirt” spill on to the main road entrance and exit. Removing some grey tile and adding some dirt. Creating a smooth transition instead of the hard line near the sidewalks.

Great idea, I see so many straight lines with the areas because of the mils plates. Some areas need to spill into another mils plate. It would look more natural

I think the spring lantern festival would look way better on the platform next to the mountain and temple of airjitzu. It would make sense that you could go through the park and then climb the mountain, so it would tie in those two parts of the city better together. I feel like it looks a bit out of place in the area next to the campground

It would also leave more space for that temple you still have in box and the side builds of the airjitzu temple

If you need to add more of a buffer between the street and the camping spots you could remove the sidewalk from that side of the street and fill it in with more green and plants. The campground and farm are more of a rural setting which typically don’t have sidewalks anyways.

Suggetion/mountain range: In the corner section of table, place the ninjago doju high and possibly inset into the mountain like a hidden school. The new development of the camp ground is awesome with all the new detail.

The new campground is going to make the city look even better. I love how you made the roads into the MILS plate system and can't wait to see how your going to do the creek/river. You could add a few minifigures along the creek fishing and kayaking. That will help with the density of the area and you'll have even more stories to tell. The creek can also double as a drinking area for your farm animals. Have a great day and keep up the great work.

I can't really tell if you did this or not, but adding more texture to the Ninjago water would look spectacular. If you look at the Ninjago City Docks set you can see how the 1x2 tiles are sort of alternating in a diagonal and looks a lot more authentic compared to the checkered placement of them you showed in a previous video

So what if you disassembled the Spring Lantern Festival and used the elements from the Ninjago sets to make a custom layout. Making it more of a city than just a cluster of buildings. Also, I think a toll booth with the Mounty or ranger there at the entrance and exit of the camp would be neat. It's a shame that the farm has to be incorporated, because that takes away space from the camp ground and Ninjago. MILS plates for the camp are coming together nicely. Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what you have in mind

I was expecting it to look stellar and it does. So much depth to it all! The only thing that worries me is the little stream, I wonder if that should be at least 6 studs wide so you could put a little 4 stud boat in it. Perhaps add a little pond area for fishing? And then at the ocean just add another archway / a wider archway so it doesn't look like the river could back up because it has to all flow out of a single small arch.

I think the creek should be four studs wide and with two sandy banks on either side. Also I think in the forest you should make an abandoned cabin with a monster coming out or a creepy minifigure in the shack and two scared campers. Also it could be cool if the river connects to the mountain river or the river could come from the mountain. Great editions and man that road looks amazing.

Great work Jordan, always good to see a MILS project coming together. The campground will look so much better so it will be worth the heartbreak of tearing the old one down, that's the beauty of Lego - it doesn't have to be permanent. Think you should add a couple of hobbits in barrels bobbing down the creek when you get to the detail stage! 😂

Campsite looks great, but if you could remove the middle of the mountain(the side facing ninjago) and put in a waterfall that was kinda engraved into the rock, then add light brown tiles leading up to the top going behind the waterfall, you could then use snot tiles for the waterfall to make it look like it’s really falling, I feel this would add the much deserved detail to the mountain.

Not sure if anybody said this yet. First it looks great so far...i think you should add some dirt spilling on to the roadway there. Maybe a brown wood like fence to break it up from the street. Not sure but i would guess you would add some rocks or boulders in the creek popping up as the water goes around it. Just little things i see. But you have more talent and patience than i would doing it. I def like the idea of the farm and look forward to seeing that as i was thinking of doing a farm myself.
