Getting extra straights instead of curves is a good thing! You always end up with way too many curves if you have more than 1 train set

Has happened to me before, lego goes by weight when packaged, guess straight and curves weight is the same, I sent lego a email and to my surprise they sent a free box of curves
Lego needs to do accessory packs for trains again. Like Separate wagons of this one. (Or the passenger train)

@@coen7606I've heard complains about how Lego always provides plenty of curved segments but few straights, so maybe it's fortunate?😅
Even though you did not need the missing parts, I highly encourage you to contact LEGO Customer Service so they are aware of the error, especially in case it was not an isolated incident. There should be a lot number printed on an adhesive sticker or near the bar code on the outside of the box, and that will help them to track where the problem occurred.
Your reviews continue to impress. Thorough, constructive and informative... thankyou for going the extra mile
I have noticed this concerning trend about LEGO City recently, mainly that specific pieces are more and more interesting, having fabulous functions, such as a parachute, net shooters, stud cannons etc. while overall, they get... primitive, a prime example off being that now practically every car has an already done chassis, even the cars on this train seem very simple - with the walls being comprised of 3-element rectangles. What do you think?

This is a thing Afols have complained about since the first person talked about lego on the internet. Imo it's more accurate to say that specialization comes in waves- as older parts are discontinued, new parts are introduced, and it isn't always a 1:1 ratio. Take a look at City in the late 90's/early 2000's, modern city is incredibly complicated by comparison I think a more accurate thing that can be said about city is that it progressively becomes more action oriented as time goes on, moving away from dollhouse style play. This isn't a bad thing- kids love action toys, and City is designed for kids!
8:31 That's a not-very-fancy way of describing that they just reused the same app from the Passenger Train with different visuals while not adding a light to the set itself. That, and many other choices, such as the plastic wheels, just show that Lego is being cheap on their sets, but expensive on their price tags.
@RacingBrick
Жыл бұрын
Well you could say that they reused the control profile from 2018, from this aspect there's really nothing new in it. Removing a button could have been one click, so I like the intention of leaving it in. The biggest issue of Control+ for Technic is the fact that you cannot even add a light to the models that almost all have free ports for that. Here we at least have the possibility, although the set would definitely require some guidance about it.

@@RacingBrick Or better it could include lights so we can actually put them on.
In my Assembly Square, the whole bag was misplaced with another bag from the same step (it was step number 4, and I got 2 copies of one bag and 0 copies of another bag). Lego support was very helpful in quickly identifying the specific missing bag by just a couple of pieces (I was missing a mustache from the photo guy) and sent all the contents of the bag to me as a replacement. I identified the 2 copies situation because parts from opened bags for step 4 contained 4 minifigure heads while only 2 were expected (and zero mustaches)
Adding the lights looks really good on this engine!!
If you have added lights to the set, i am fairly certain you can swap out the clear slopes with trans-red slopes, and you will have rear lights but no front ones
Great video, and thanks for showing the light upgrade option. Just ordered the set together with the led addon. Thx again!
Thank you for the light info.
Looks interesting!
Great review as always.
I've been excited for new LEGO trains, but neither of these grab me. The 60336 is the better looking of the two, in my opinion, but the price inspires me to save my money for now. I'm glad they're making new trains, regardless. Thanks for the overview :)

So I finished this set this morning and I absolutely love it. Worth every cent. But I cannot run the car transport wagon around my layout. I thought ground clearance was going to be an issue on my inclines but thankfully that's not a problem ( so now I know I can run the 60337 around it :-) The problem is the 8 studs with of the car transport wagon, it hits several pillars and buildings. So that is going to need some adjustment. The Reach Stacker is an absolute beautiful thing. Almost excellent set.

Another great review video
Your set had less curved track than it needed and more straight than it needed
I remember my son getting sets 3677 and 7938. By far those where the greatest train sets from LEGO when it came to “battery powered” trains. Especially 3677, since today my son has a custom Maintenance Of Way high-rail built with the High rail from 3677. Of course the car that carried the high rail still exists in one piece as well. For set 7938, it was scrapped for parts for other locomotive builds.
I got this for Christmas 2022 and I love it
How does this set compare with 60198 in regards to build fun and playability?
I have had a box of rails with only 1 rail in it and i have had with my crane that a piece was damaged, Happily Lego really helps with this and just sent me a new one
8 minutes ago wow thanks great video!
Nice video
Really good set. If I had kids, I would buy it for them. But i would give them the choice. LEGO train or Märklin. Both doesn’t make sense. Trains or Racing track system like carrera. I like the lego trains. In 1980 we had lego trains with lights. My god. What an innovation. Trains with lights. Lights …. We need more lights. Titanic with lights…. More lights please.
I like this set much. It will be agreat addition to the city train I have. Sad that lego does not provide rail wagons to ourchase seperetly as an addon
I might be able to buy that at the lego store at woodlands mall on Friday
My Favorites it's Lego City 2022 7+60336 Freight Train Set
Did they provide enough train tracks to go around a Christmas Tree on this set?
The LEGO Lights 88005 have been out of stock in the Australian LEGO Shop for over a year!
One thing that makes this set better than previous cargo trains is no hooks and no ropes
Cool
As a train nerd, I have noticed something. A bit unrelated as it’s about the 2014 cargo train, but that one, was the only LEGO City train seeming to be based off of an American locomotive, while the others (the 2010, 2018 2022, etc.) are based off of European locomotives.

I feel the same and would wish for an american type of engine for the next cargo train that lego comes up with - because they look much more interesting to me. PS: For passenger trains I prefer the TGV / ICE / Shinkansen /etc. inspired designs.

Even if I have the missing piece(s) in my personal inventory, given the price of these sets, I do contact customer service... Also, there's this slight issue with the car being higher than the pantographs 😉
related to the missing track maybe the set was boxed after a Coloplast factory party
does this have batteries or motors or magnets or anysort of electrical stuff and not lego plastic bricks because i bought these in australia and i want to bring them home as a handcarry on the plane edit: which is the battery and motor the big gray box or the small black thingy
I would like to do a Santa train to run around the tree at Christmas, using a goods train but making presents as carriages would this be do able? Sorry new to lego stuff thank you
I would have liked to know if 6 studs cars can enter the transportation wagon?
I'm not into LEGO trains but i might get this set if i can get a good discount. I bought the off-road buggy last year (with 50% discount) because i wanted to experiment a bit with motorized builds but was very disappointed because the buggy could only be controlled via an app that did not work on my old phone - and i am not going to buy a new phone just to be able to run a single app. This set have what all motorized LEGO set should have - options to control with both an app and a dedicated LEGO remote. With this set (and other sets like it) i can do motorized builds without having to get a new phone. Which set is the currently cheapest set available with same idea of control, that is at least an option to use it without a phone app?
@RacingBrick
Жыл бұрын
The train controller can only be used directly with this 2 port hub. Any other sets (like the buggy) will require the Powered Up app and some coding to act as a bridge between the remote and the Technic hub. Currently only the trains come with the remote in the box, nothing else. There are 3rd party solutions to control cars directly with the remote, but they require some coding - kzread.info/dash/bejne/gX1mmNGkYa7Lm8Y.html
The mistake reminds me of the Mustang gt creator set I got a mistake in, they gave 2 of the outside bags for 3 instead of one outside bag for 3 and 4

Something else that's irked me about the lighting for the cargo train, usually when lighting is optional, they include instructions on how to add it in (eg, previous passenger trains). There's no such instructions in this set, so I was fully unaware that it'd been designed to take lighting!

@@basberend you can connect one controller to 2 trains, that's been tested and working. Not sure if it works with even more, but definitely works with 2. Regarding PF vs. PU, yes the new system lost the stackability of the ports, but we have interactive motors and sensors instead with way more capabilities and BT instead of the super limited infrared connection. I don't think the problem is with the hardware, we would need solid and simple to use software to be able to use all the hardware properly.

There's no crossing and that means the inner track layout is inaccessible unless you drive cars over the rigid tracks. This limits the play value especially for newcomers and they're missing out on this one feature that almost every cargo train set has. For us enthusiasts no problem but I doubt a kid getting into lego has the parts to make a crossing for vehicles.
