It is pretty awesome, but it takes a lot of effort to turn brickfilming into a career.
So much work for a scene that only goes for a few secs. I know what that is like! A real pain in the butt to move 50 army men at the same time.
So creative. Love these behind the scenes videos. Great job, It really does look pretty sweet.
Can you make a video where it tells you how to use green screen?
I love watching these behind the scene vids!
Really love all of your videos and stop motion work!
GREAT MAKING OF!!!
wow!! My appreciation for your art just went way up!!!
u r so talented, I love all ur videos
You work so HARD!!!
Dude you are so talented! Thanks for sharing this with your adience. I was speechless when i saw the video and now i habe an idea of how pro you compose the scene, keep it up
You are so amazing. You are one of my greatest inspirations for my channel! Thanks for being great.
I re-watched the actual video of the retelling of The Hobbit over and over again to see everything that was going on in this shot.
You are awesome and amazing. I could never be as good as you!
Fantastic!
Nice work!
Really interesting and impressive seeing how many layers of composting you use to create the final shot! I find it hard to keep track of more than 4 characters at a time.
How do you plan the composites so well so that they blend together? Thanks! : )
Can you create a tutorial for duplicating? I really want to make a huge army!

That’s pretty easy, just select the track and press “Ctrl D” for pc or “Command D” for Mac😊.

AWESOME!
This is sick! Awesomely sick! Love it :-)
You sir, are a genius!
Awesome! I'm going to try to do the same kind of thing with my up-coming Hobbit movie coming out this April! I hope I don't fail with it xD I'm fairy new to after effects, but i know how to do some awesome stuff with it already!
You must have a dope sheet to check off which directions each character is moving and to keep track of them all, even with playback in Dragon there are some insanely complicated movements to keep track of.
40 hrs for one shot, that is nuts, but awesome dedication.
great Video....great work..such patience....I would probaly smash a couple sets in frustration in only a couple hours in...and have to start over....we love the behind the scenes.....
0:25 the best one ever!
OMG. You. Are. Awesome!
that must bee a lot of work! i appreciate you and what you do and enjoy the videos. thank you so mush! more videos and behind the scenes ,please! ;D

who does not? :D
You make it look easy!!! XD its obviously not though. I love your animations, they're so clever and amazing!!! Keep on doing it!
I know it's a lot to ask but it would be very helpful to see a more detailed video of how you go about compositing in After Effects. That piece of software is about as powerful as anything commercially available to film makers, and maybe especially animators, but as you know it has a learning curve that's more of a 90-degree angle. Anything a little more detailed would be most appreciated.
Awesome bro

Nice!
I can't wait for his new lego gardens of the galaxy mini movie to come out
Awesome shot! I think that it took a "little" while to render all...

nice photos on your Facebook page!
You are so awesome
You r the best
Some dwarfs some bats some goblins some goblins and some goblins... too much goblins
Cool...
I wish I could do that stuff.
Man how do you keep track of so many characters walking at the same toms and remember who taking a step and who is in mid step? I ask because it is always a tricky thing for me. I rarely will do large group shops with more than 2 or 3 characters because it is hard to make them all look fluid in their movement

My software allows me to playback a shot I am working on, so I can just take a look at my characters to see what they're doing.

Wait so each of those Orks in the helms deep video were separate layers? Wow.
I think it would be cool if you could make lego videos that is like 10 minutes long and maybe you could make hole series of episodes that way. It should probley take more time but i can wait :)
I have to get a new camera and I'm wondering is there any type you would recommend for stop motion animation?
Can u do a behind the scenes video of showing how you make your clay grounds for your videos
Is there going to be an side by side version of the trailer battle of the rice armies like u did with the desolation of smaug?? Would be awesome.
I'm really learning a lot from these BTS vids. Have any plans for some Bionicle brickfilms in the future?
What would you recommend for low-budget lighting? (I mostly use natural light, lamps, and iMovie.) :)You rock keep up the awesome work!!!
Can you do a video on how you print out your backdrops
Niiiice
And can you make a video showing how you make your printed backdrops
What's the biggest and hardest animation project you have ever done
so basically the whole video was on the BOOK ?!?!? wow
I was wondering what editing system you use. It looks really cool and I may want to purchase it so if you could tell me, that would be awesome :D And also EPIC VIDEO!!!!!!!!! :DDDDDDDD

MY PRESIOUS
Great video But can you show how to light and set up a green screen for Legos , I am having trouble with it Thanks
can make a tutorial how to green screen in after fx because it looks like you are doing that a different way than all the other tutorials on youtube
I wish I could do that. My computer is not very powerful though.
You are awesome! How long have you been making films?

When is your guardians of the galaxy stop motion going to be out?
When will your next Star Wars film be?
Hey man I am a huge fan of your videos! I know you're really busy but I was wondering if you could give me some tips. I have just recently "dipped my toes" into green screening and I could use some advice.
Hi. I know you maybe said it somewhere. but I will ask you. What programme do you use?
Iv'e been doing stop motion for a year and I just started compoziting and it turned out pretty sweet and I was wondering if you would recomend any free compozoting sortware. I curently use gimp and hitfilm for my comps.
Hey, just wondering: I know you do Lego versions of trailers. Are you planning on doing one for Avengers Age of Ultron? That would be awesome! Love your work!
What software do you use? Anyway great video
I knew that Thorin would die, but Fili and Kili too? Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
the goblin commander that you taking is bolg ? because he was crushed by beorn
Where do you get those mini bendy legs
Do you recommend a free program to use greenscreen? I'm planning to do a remake of Master And Commander; The Far Side of the World. I got the ships, and want to recreate a fight scene when the HMS Surprise confronts the Acheron. There's this big scene of 3 seconds when you see the Acheron opening fire on the Surprise, further away. That scene I want to make with green screen, but I want to learn it at first and have a simple cheap program to use.. Got recommendations?
How do you make the lighting look like it's night time? I've been looking for that answer for a long time.
WHAT animations will u do when lego lotr and hobbit sets are not intresting anymore? I mean when lego stops middle-earth legos?
Question: I ussually hear a song or a funny video from another ipad while making a stop motion. Should I close the ipad or its okay to do that?
Can you please do something with Mixels sometime?

Sara Pineo Maybe. But I'm honestly not a huge fan of mixels.
Will you do a battle of Minas Tirith??
@madeyestudios8357
9 жыл бұрын
Perhaps when the set comes out (if it comes next summer).
Where do you get all the orcs and goblins from? Do you buy the just the minifigures, if so where, or do you keep buying the same set repeatedly. Also, can you make some videos with the new lego The Hobbit the Battle of the Five Armies sets?
do you have any ideas for cheap, good programs?
What do you prefer? Nikon or Canon for stop motion and General photography and why?

Bloombunchboys Bloom I recommend getting Priemiere Pro. It's in the same subscription package as After Effects, so if you get one you get both! I personally prefer buying software to getting a subscription, but unfortunately that isn't an option :(

BrotherhoodWorkshop Thanks! I have the package, so I should have it. I've been animating for years, and just did my first bit of composting last night. It turned out pretty good!
Wow, nice work! Which fps do you use in your animations? I'm used to video editing but no with stop-motion...
@egg7212

His camera is a Canon 60D. The software he uses are Dragonframe for the animation, Final Cut Pro 7 for the editing and sound design, and After Effects for the VFX. The clay he uses is Van Aken. Lastly he shoots at 24 fps. Sorry if there are unnecessary facts in there this comment is copied and pasted so I don't have to retype the same thing over and over again.
What settings do u have in your camera
How do you manage to key out the studs on the ground?

What app/website or something did you use for doubling the bats?
Can you tell me what is the program for greenscreen-ing? I'm learning some stop-motion technics now.
dow do you connect your camera with the computer??
Love your vids and also what software are you using when your making all of those bats fly.what software allows you to copy that over and over again and how did u combined all of those different shots together to get the big epic war

How do you make the water in the Hobbit 2 Trailer in Mirkwood?
What do you use for the water
from my experience, after effcts is a program that very difficult to use.it makes the computer very slow and makes very large files(30 secs=800 mb).and in priemre ,it's difficult to use the more i add layers lenth and effects, do you have same problems and how do deal with them?
