Lego battle of Saragarhi - stop motion
On the morning of September 12, 1897, Saragarhi, a
signaling post was surrounded by about 10,000
Pashtun tribesmen. The small post was manned by only
21 men from the British Indian Army. They were able to
repel repeated attacks but the Pashtuns eventually broke
through one of the walls. Every defender died, but they
had held their position for over 6 hours and killed 180
enemy men and wounded many more. During the battle,
the signalman at Saragarhi had sent an account of the
events to the nearby fort Lockhart.

When the signalman was the last man standing, he actually sent a message to his superiors to ask permission to eave his signalling post and pick up his rifle to fight. When he was granted permission, he folded and packed away the signalling equipment in its box and then mounted a frenzied attack upon the enemy. The heroism displayed that day is awe inspiring.
Correction : the valorous warriors had killed over 600 hostiles over the holy land of Saragarhi. Though given chance to surrender or retreat, every one of them fought until the last breath fading . Surprising is the fact that among the 21 some were not trained units and were either cooks or workers but were brave enough to fight viciously. The Afgani commander went on to say .." I had the command of 10000 troops and laughed over the 21, later to only realize that those 21 were the reason I could not conquer North - West India. " JAI HIND
Good to see that it showed 21th Sikh regiment's efforts
I love the effects, the gun shots, the smoke, the sound effects, the way each person walked. Outstanding piece of work. Not to mention the fact it aids to show young people history. Love it!
I love how they animated the reloading of the Martini Henry rifles. That attention to little details like that are one of the reasons I like this channel. Great job.
Wow! Excellent stop-motion. I wasn't expecting it to be so smooth. Also I'm sikh so I love that you chose this battle.
After the war, "lord henry J. Hiddleston", who was racist to Indians commented in British-Indian parliament that-

The Pashtuns later admitted that they had lost about 180 killed and many more wounded during the engagement against the 21 Sikh soldiers, but some 600 bodies are said to have been seen around the ruined post when the relief party arrived.
Loved the sound effects and camera angles, and the stop motion was very well done!
