Interestingly, although we associate gothic architecture with dark walls, gargoyles and hidden corners these cathedrals were exceptionally airy and bright inside because of the larger windows compard with romanism and the light shade of the (unweathered) limestone.

While I was among those who were surprised (I actually told a guy two months before it was revealed how IF Lego ever did stray from their avoidance of religious themed buildings as an architecture set it would probably be something like this or St. Peter’s Basilica but I didn’t think it would be very likely. Shows what I knew.

2:46 The last time I visited Notre-Dame, there were burgundy curtains inside to drown out the noise of the city when someone enters, so maybe that's the red colour. Still, doesn't look nice.

The Religious aspect is kind of redundant at this point because literally how many shrines, and temples have we already seen from The Ninjago or I guess Monke Kids theme? That aside this is a spectacular set, and despite the repetitious nature of the build looks well worth the time as it should be able to display anywhere. Engineering the build as it was originally constructed is also a very clever touch. Between this the Icons Lamborghini, and GOTG Milano Lego is turning out some award winning sets this Spring/Summer season.
