He was, and, sad to say, completely forgotten about for well more than a century, until, in the 1980s Chanterelle published his caprices and we began to explore him again!
Wow, I've never heard this before. I never liked Legnani's music very much played by anyone, but Alexander's musicianship and virtuosity is very convincing, exciting, and enjoyable. You are great!!
Musica genial e performance impecável !! Parabéns!
A very beautiful melodic music and you performed it excellently. Excellent technic and nuance. Bravo....i wish you my best.
Bravo! What a crazy piece is that. Great technique, keep it up!
always excellent...a giant bravoooooo.....a giant maestroooo.!
Amazing!
Awesome performance as well . keep it like that 👌👌👌👌
Amazing playing. He plays very fast and very clean. His other videos display this too.
Genial music, genial musician. Greetinfs from Brasil.
Toca muito!! É possuidor de uma técnica extremamente apurada. É um Artista que se dedicou muito, senão não conseguiria tocar assim tão maravilhosamente!!
This has got to be the guitar equivalence of Paganini's "Variations on Nel cor piu mi sento" for solo violin. Makes sense seeing as they're both in the theme and variations form, the fact that Both Paganini and Legnani are virtuosos on violin and guitar respectively, and to top it of the fact that they're both really close friends!😀
BRAVO!!
WOW VERY TALENTED. SPECTACULAR
GREAT!!
Amazing performance on an insane piece !

Hi, have you been able to find the score?
I am curious on the right hand fingerings of the fourth variation (the scale bursts variation). It looks as though you are using A, M, I for the five-note segments, what notes are slurred vs plucked? (Around the 6 min mark)
Mr. Vigil makes a great guitar
Paganini would have liked that a lot. Sensational!

yeah, he actually probably played half of it before it was written.
Superb!!!! Guitar sounds just 'ok', but the performance is astonishing
It seems to be a very nice guitar indeed. But the parallel video of Joshua Moore playing the same guitar shows how big the influence of the mastering is on how the sound is presented. The Joshua Moore video seems to be much more realistic, though one can clearly hear the added reverb... I think because the purpose of such videos should be a presentation close to reality and not to show what can be done in postproduction, they should be produced with as little processing as possible, just good mics with good preamps and converters, recorded in a nicely sounding room.

everyone needs to know how smart you are
No Alexander, your virtuosic playing won't stop me from trying!!! But ... this is incredible anyway. Pffff .... and I hate Legnani and you :-)
I m studying and playing classic guitar for more than a decade. This execution is perfect but right fingers should be shift closer to the hole. In this case the sound it s a bit 'plastic'
Corre y no se entiende nada...no hay música. Puro dedo
Bravo ! Ma il pezzo è demenziale.
This performance is a scary business - a mechanical recitation of notes with none of the humour, colour, and turn of phrase that provides feeling. This music requires more than refined athleticism, which, indeed, Mr. Milanovov most assuredly has.
What a miraculously boring and dull reading of this excellent piece from master Legnani. I suppose this optimizes how 19th century guitars should NOT sound. It is astonishing how modern classical guitar playing just continues to get more lifeless and dry...even as technical accomplishment increases. Stylistically this is dreadful playing despite, the players ability. This type of playing and technical ability is dime a dozen nowadays...but if you miss the style and character...what is it worth. Might as well play sports.
The octave scales sound fantastic to me, but the single note scales sound a bit butchered. Still great though.
nice playing, but the music - 19th century variation crap.
