    Suggestion. Like Scott Ian when he was in S.O.D. A JCM800 plus a TC Electronics Booster/Distortion!!! That tone was just flooring! Just listen to the first 30 seconds of “The March of the S.O.D”. That was CRUSHING!

    Damn, someone should do a video on this with a Mesa Badlander, since it IS compatible. The Badlander is like a 15% boost in gain and bass away from being the perfect amp.

    I have the Origin_50, and I tried this in it (experimenting with a low end amp with a mod). I am not sure if I like it yet, I may have to play around with it a bit more. First off the second tube position is recommended in the instructions for most amps, but not the Origin_50, nope, no sound! Last tube position no gain but has sound. The first tube position I have gain but loss of volume. So far I prefer the 3 tubes that came with the amp, lol. So if you have an Origin 50 and are looking to upgrade, this might be a helpful assessment.

    Great video Kyle, this seems like something I'd like to tryout with my Jet City 100. It would be cool hearing you demo this with the TSL 100 as people always comment about certain aspects of it being thin (I know you do short vids now and again)

    Hi Kyle; just subed a few minutes ago, so far I like what you do and how you manage to capture sounds of the amps without those flubby plastic/processed effects that change the character of the amp once the sound is recorded with a mic. I have one favor: could you review/demo the Marshall KK JCM 800 ? Cheers

    Hey man great video. Is the hot mod good for getting huge high gain tones at lower volumes? I got a 20w Studio JCM and sometimes need to play it with the master on like 3 if it’s late at night. Wondering if it’s better to just use a OD to boost the front end for that application

  • @LegendaryTones

    @LegendaryTones

    3 жыл бұрын

    It will work great in that application. The SC20H will sound more organic and natural with it in there rather than taking on the characteristics of the box. That said, adding a pedal on top of it works too.

  • @KPGuitarStudios

  • @ThePenitentSquirrel

    (I realize I'm not Kyle, but) You should check out Death By Audio ABSOLUTE DESTRUCTION which is equal parts genius and absolutely crazy (most reviews don't play it that much on just its gain setting, but I think it might work if push the gain and drop the overload/drive). Other than that probable any 15-20 boost pedal like a Xotic, Betty, Fortin 33 would do the trick, but you might be better served by an EQ pedal (yes, the most unsexy often complicated pedal is usually the antidote).
