Good breakdown of the leg ships. I own most of them and most are in the S or A tiers, so very happy. Agree that the Ross, Sov, MW TOS Connie were major disappointments. The only one I would think about moving would be the JJA Connie to S due to how formidable it is with a SS3 build on it and it is very manoeuvrable. It would be nice if the devs revisited some of the ships and corrected them. I'd love a 5/3 Sov with either command or intel seating. A Captains Yacht console just purely for fun to re-enact Insurrection. With the Science Warship Intrepid, they tried to make it like it should have been in the show but ended up making it how it was in the show.

Now a days the ross is still better then legendary oddy. As it lacks a second spec seat and the new engineering consoles really help the ross as it can sport 7 of them vs 6 on verity. The Lendary b'rel is not that bad, it preforms pretty well, the 4 engi console slots make it very good now a days, it's at t least a B grade. If this analysis was taking into account real world performance this would be very different list. Seems much of his personal feelings were mixed with this. Soveriegn does really suck though :/ I wanted a terran warship soveriegn. T'liss has intel and enhanced battle cloak, eagle really isn't the same. However I will admit the eagle has one thing on it, on a pure torp build it works better, But if you are scitorp I believe T'liss is better. D'deridex is a super underrated ship it should be at least A with its 8 engi consoles.

​@@tenaciousgamer6892idk my legendary sovereign is pretty great, plus it being a miracle worker means lots of iso slots, 4/4 weapons layouts get such an unfair hate, unless you're flying around a weaponized impulse engine you're probably going to be orbiting your target, stationary or flying amongst targets enough with cruiser type ships to be broadsiding with them alot, and on a Beam overload build with all the Isomags, that sovereign can be unleashing up to 8 beams on a target, 5/3 builds have the same maximum potential too.

@@adambrown6669 true my issue with the sovereign is mainly with the cruiser typing for a ship that should be a battlecruiser at least, I just wanted to see a Terran sovereign that maybe was a warship. IT just needs more variants.

I will admit I went out of my way to get the Legendary D7 and Miranda, I just love them two ship's design, visually.

Just wanted to say thank-you for all the hard work you do for us.

Two notes regarding the Leg Valdore. First, your very sound logic on why the Leg Scim outclasses the T’Liss also applies to the Leg Valdore vs the NX. Everything the NX can do, the Valdore can do better, and it’s got a hanger bay for that delicious Type 7 debuff. Second, there are no ships that are better with Beam Overload than CSV (except maybe ones that can’t slot dual cannons). Does Recursive Shearing III make BO better? Yes. Does it make BO outclass CSV III? Heck no. Justice for the Valdore!

And my main ship is a Legendary Sovereign X2... i still love it. S tier imho

Prometheus could use a Legendary. :) If the Akira can get Legendary, Prometheus should, too. (Edit: for an all-skins ship. And because it would just be cool. Plus, I'd love another Prometheus variant.)

@@jonnybridin it would have to be 5/3 full MW with secondary Temp. Because if secondary was Intel, that's literally the Legendary Avenger (but more maneuverable, with much less Hull). A Legendary Avenger with Temp instead of Int could be appealing. I also might wanna see 5/2/exp with DHC, with full MW and secondary Intel (so, Legendary Avenger with Experimental weap). Otherwise, they'd need to make it fill some kind of niche (like SciDEW or tank or EPG or torp boat). But Prometheus fits the Escort and Warship archetypes best with either beans or cannons. Typical tactical pew pew dakka dakka.

Prometheus could do with being a strike wing escort/intel or miracle worker, but in the same sense that the rex is, so basically separating the ship would turn the other bits into wingmates that could be commanded to do stuff.

@@adambrown6669 Agreed. In fact, I'd argue that this is how saucer separation should be handled for legendary ships. Legendary Galaxy, Legendary Odyssey, etc.

I turned my Columbia class into a Wiley Weasel. The thing is super maneuverable especially with the competitive impulse engines. The only downside is that it doesn't let you upgrade the standard pulse phaser beams which are probably one of my favorite phaser based ship weapons in the game, and since they are nigh impossible to come by in the exchange. Legendary Odyssey can't compete with the Lex but it may sadly replace my Tactical T6 Odyssey for my story mode ship. Nice and tanky with a hangar bay and it gave me the last console I needed in my Odyssey collection, the worker bees.

Great list, honestly cannot argue with any of the rankings. I was glad to see that you shared my opinion of the Nx, Miranda, D7, and Galaxy Dreadnaught. Love, love, love my Galaxy dreadnaught.

Another point in the Donnie's favour - the Advanced Phaser Beam Arrays. Top performers when you have decent crit chance on a phaser beam build.

I would also rate the Caelian higher because of th science intel layout. Even without temporal slots you can cause a lot of space anomalies, then make them explode with the Somerville trait. It is also one of the few full science ships with a hangar bay.

For stats sure, both it and the intrepid should be higher, but I just can't forgive what they did to that ship in the design board, it's so ugly compared to it's far more beautiful and starfleet looking predecessors. Unfortunately the Excelsior shares in that issue, though if it just didn't have that points glowing strip all around it's star drive it would have been atleast ok...

4/4 Cruisers: When they come with Cmd Intel, try Advanced Phasers/Disruptors (+60% CrtD when using 6x of them). Legendary Ambassador packs some serious punch with the that and the combo you mentioned. I would still feel B-Tier sounds right for that ship.

Generally agree with your list. I might place one or two in different tiers, but can see why you put them where you did. I doubt most people would argue with your ‘S’ list. Totally agree with you about the NX. Seriously underrated ship. As far as next on the list to acquire, probably the D7.

I will argue that the Legendary D'deridex is the most OP ship in the game, deserving of S-tier plus. Yes, flying it sucks, since it has a maneuverability way below continental drift. But its T6 starship trait kills everything. Not when you are trying to go minmax a meta build but for random levelling. Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition and nobody expects a three romulan torp barrage from just about any ship. If you happen to have an elite captain just place it into your captain slot instead of a ship slot you will get it: (1) for your levelling ships. Trying to do the extended tutorial? Well, Hakeev certainly did not expect this, nor did his minions. Same for the guys on any other introduction - they just weren't levelled for this ability. A one hit kill for basically everything you are facing. Combine it with the Aceton Assimilator (especially if you were lucky enough to buy it when still available) and Shuttle missions do not exist anymore. (2) for the dreaded "forced ships". All of them - if in "A Step Between Stars" or "Temporal Ambassador" - will have a Tractor Beam pre slotted. And what once was an annoyance is just a breeze with the 15 second cooldown Tractor Beam and its torps. (3) did I mention the shuttle missions? Annoyed by "The Vault"? Trouble with the swarmers in "Operation Gamma"? Well, guess again, just torp everybody into oblivion. Yes, those torps seek out cloaked scorpion fighters. Thinking is down to zero. And it's still only a 15 second cooldown. It's not gonna get awards for its meta properties, but the sheer convenience of basically skipping some of the most annoying content with an account unlock (so once you got it, you got it) is incredibly incredible. As much as I would love to love flying the legendary D'deridex, or any Dderidex or that matter, they are (I agree) the best looking ships in Star Trek as a whole but do not live up to it in STO. But this trait was worth every penny I spent on it. Others may be better for the end game, but this one makes levelling a breeze. Seven out of five stars, even if you never fly the ship. And even though it is only useful in a select choice of missions - those were the most annoying ones for me, and they just do not pose any problem at all anymore. You will one-kill a lot of enemies along the way.

I agree with your assessments for the most part. I think the vorcha and ambassador stood the test of time. I think B tier is fair for the ambassador, but with the Surgical Strikes 3 and recursive shearing, it aged better than most of the 10th anniversary bundle. I know I'm slanted because I bought the 11th, but I also got a lot of the terran ships with the t6 coupons. But the Excelsior and BOP were not great for sure. Well, the Excelsior is better than the BOP, but you know.

I think you touched on something that might be important for those of us trying to figure out which ships to use and which to drydock or ditch. While you can never do all types of ships at once, you might want to do a few videos on, which Miranda is the best. Which Akira? And so on. It stuck in my head when you pointed out some of the legendary ships are NOT the best ones to use of that ship design. It'll help me better fly the ships best meant to be active when I'm drydocking some to make space for the next ship to come out. I haven't even bought the 14th anniversary bundle as I don't have space for it and don't feel like buying it until the defects are worked out of it.

My version of this list is to just put all the energy ships in D and all the sci and torp ships in S and A. The solo bias lol.

I would totally go for the legendary excelsior or sovereign class. I like broadsides and I like the looks of the hulls. I am relatively new to STO, just recently got to lvl65, and currently have the T6 assault intel cruiser (with the sovereign skin instead of the default) as my preferred ship. I also prefer phasers (so I’m running 3 fore and 3 aft phasers with toros in the last slot fore and aft)

20:56 this......puts...a legitimate smile on my face... I am a MASSIVE FAN (sorry for all caps I'm extremely happy) of the Scimitar Dreadnoughts, the Koseph especially! But when they released the legendary Scimitar I was spazzing in my room on how happy I was for one of my favorite ships to get a legendary version. And the fact that they made a new skin for it made it even better because now it looks REALLY SCARY!! (Sorry once again, I'm too happy) Love the Explanation stu1701 made here

I use my Legendary Bortasqu as a tank. It does pretty good. The Legendary D7 is the _shit_ I've been using mine as a DPS boat for years! I _love_ that thing!

My favorite is the valdore, second the Legendary donny carrier, great ship, also love my legendary verity

Took me a week to realize what the Thaloron weapon was, besides being visually amusing that thing smacks. In the patrol rescue and search use it on the last phase when the mass of klingons spawn to the left..I see multiple crits in the 6 figures and howl😂 pairs really well with plasma storm too. Add in the stupid giant plasma ball and it just makes me sad that it’s a romulan ship cause my main is Fed and that’s just wrong.

Maybe it is the nostalgia but I love to fly the legendary BˋBrel thinking of the first three years in STO doing pvp in it and blowing up a lot of fed ships. I still like it and it was the reason for me to buy the 11th anniversary bundle. It is still decent with cannon rapid fire, like back in the day. But I totally agree to the point that it should have been was the eagle is now. :)

The Legendary Intrepid has a phenomenal skin, we've wanted it for so long... yes you could use the Mirror version on the trailblazer but unless I'm playing a terran character I hate the terran markings so I was very glad to get the version without them. Also yeah the trait is amazing, I have broken TW 80 without rep gear using it. THAT SAID: The Trailblazer has a better weapons layout even though the legendary does compensate a bit by having a hangar bay. I disagree with several of these rankings for personal reasons and the rule of cool, but it's a solid list from a spec standpoint. P.S. I don't think the Sovereign really fits the bill for a Battlecruiser. (Not that STO actually KNOWS what a Battlecruiser IS...) TBH the Sovereign is a BattleSHIP and should have something like 5/4 weapons... but STO's not gonna give us 5/4 loadouts ever... because they HATE FUN apparently.

Since I came back, I've had my eye on that Bort. Sadly it's command. Plus I really don't need 4000 flagship console sets. I get the Teaspoon too though, not a fan of the design but it's a solid ship.

Honestly with how much you and other STO youtubers know about STO Deca should really consider using you all as consultants when it comes to any revamps of older stuff or on any new things they plan to add since you all have the pulse of the game unlike most developers who never actually play the games they make.

Can someone explain to me the hate on a 4/4 weapon layout? I put 2 to 3 beams front, 2 in the back, torps in ramining slots and it pretty much covers any blind spot I have and great for straffing and hitting ships as you move away from them.

4/4 is best for broadside firing. In most late game content for weapon builds, you want a 5/3 because engagements typically end quickly in high end content. The strafing and broadside just aren't as fast ttk (time to kill).

I do love my Leg Scimitar, so I accept this ranking.

the super frustrating thing for me about the legendary T'Liss is it's only got 4 tactical slots. I do not understand why they seem to REFUSE to give us a T'Varo/T'Liss variant with 5 tactical slots. If it had 5 tac slots, it might be my default instead of the Legendary Defiant. I think at this point we need a Miracle Worker T'Liss with 5 tac slots.

The Legendary Avenger, aka inquiry class, is the only ship I ever use fantastic ship

I didn't make it work, I demonstrated on of the several reason why Lock Trajectory is stupid. I could've done that on any ship with a Pilot seat, it just looked the silliest on Legendary Excelsior. Could've done it on Legendary Sovereign toon.

I rate the Legendary Narenda/Ambassador at least A tier, as I find it to be one of the best all around and flexible ships in the game, particularly if you want to have that true Trek experience. Not to mention it is gorgeous in Ambassador form.

Yeah, when you dropped the MW Light Cruiser in C, I was like, "that really should be a D." Even when you get past it being all MW, and the basic stat line being a disappointment, the non-spec seating is shockingly rough as well. You have a single LtCmdr seat, and it's the only universal seat on the ship. No matter what you want to do (aside from just continuing to add MW abilities beyond sense or reason), you're not going to have enough seating for what you want to do.

Why would you say the Adamant is better than the leggo Defiant? Was thinking of grabbing the Adamant as the leggo defiant was too pricey, but the leggo defiant seemed like it was more powerful.

I can't find the 10th anniversary bundle in the store anywhere. But I'm happy, as I only want 3 ship from this list, and 2 of them S, and one of those S I already have.😅

​@@Stu1701sad thing is the only bundle that's priced fairly is the one that's seldom around (the 10th) It at full price is 30000, which is equivalent to 10 tier 6 ships at 3000 each. But as they also include skins and consoles from previous versions and ships normally only account unlockable via mudds market you're technically paying 30,000 for something that has a value of over 100,000 Sadly that trend did not continue with the 11th, which really sucks because they put three of my favourite ships in there (Excelsior, Ambassador and Vorcha) though I won't lie the design choices they made for the legendary skins on the Excelsior and Ambassador makes me consider violence against wherever the starship design bureau is.

Honestly I still prefer my LegoOddy over the Styx for tank, the only thing that has come close to unseating her is my Fleet Justicar.

STO has done the Sovereign dirty. We need a kick butt version in the game.

The problem with making a Sovereign with a 5/3 weapons layout is that once that happens they'll immediately have people yelling out for an Odyssey, its successor, with 5/3. And by people, I mostly mean me.

Idk why 4/4 gets such a bad rap. Most cruisers are not going to be zipping around like fighters attacking things head on, they're slower and bulkier ships that are best suited for beam overload and directed energy weapon builds in general, broadside your targets with up to 8 beams at once with enough isomags on and you'll one shot targets just as well as 5/3 ships but with the benefit of having the cruiser hull modifiers to keep you around longer as you orbit your victims.

I agree, but they probably didn't want both Sci ships on the 10th bundle to be Temporal, and it made more sense for Crossfield, given that it's time jump to the future is a major plot point in the series.

U better had the Leg Scimitar and Leg Galaxy X at least S tier full stop. Best Legendary ships imo if u just going to use one ship to use throughout the whole game. If u want the better overall Leg Scimitar. If u want the better value Leg Dreadnought X. Both are all around and very flexible.

Which ships deserve legendary status, constellation becuz it was picards first command and very little seen yes new anniversary ship but not legendary I like that it’s a carrier but one tactical console breaks it

Thanks for referring to the Constitution-class as a Constitution and not a damn Connie. Hugest pet-peeve is hearing these ships called Connies because it saves two syllables. I went to my junior prom with a Connie and I do not need to be reminded of that when watching these videos :)

good listing. to be fair i am more happy with the legendary intrepid. hangar bay it has..its at least B. legendary odyssey i am not very happy ..i d put it in B also.

"it's going in A", puts it in S. just wish with all the t6/t6.5 ships ingame now that they make ship mastery account wide unlock once fully mastered on one char. only rule being that for non-account wide ships (aka promo ships, that you havn't gotten through mudds) you won't get the trait on alts, unless alt owns that ship. Then when gotten that ship on a alt, it's mastery is fully unlocked (if fully unlocked on at least 1 char on account), so ya not having to regrind to get trait. Simular with c-store/event ships you own, would have to at least pick ship up to unlock the mastery, if already unlocked.

Legendary Valdor is basically a Dhailkina. Actually the only reason i dont fly it is because i have the Dhailkina

They are very similar until you get to the Spec seating. L. Valdore is Temporal/Pilot while the Dhailkhina is Command/Intel. Both can do energy weapon build, but Valdore can support more sci elements thanks to the Temporal being a Temporal ship while Dhailkhina can also be set up as a nice Torpedo build because it's a Command ship.

Mostly agree but I do think you poo poo on some a little too hard. The Ross Galaxy is a very nice platform using Suppression Barrage 3 and FAW as a tank build. Isn't shabby at all and does very well. Reroute Reserves to Weapons pilot ability is also quite wonderful, especially with dual heavy canons. Also, combining the Legendary D'Deridex's trait with carrier wave hacking is beautiful... lowers their shields for a few seconds and tosses those plasmas... beautiful.

That would Intrepid that isn't some kind of Science vessel. It's not unheard of, but its still quite rare to get a version of a ship that is a totally different type of ship than its predecessors.

@@Stu1701 true. I just wish they would make the Intrepid more canon to its original in lore purpose. Which if I remember correctly was more of a long term self sufficient border patrol type ship. It wasn't until it was modified in the Delta that it became now science like. Though I could be wrong, that's the gist I got

For the lockbox and promo ships I do a top 10 list. There are too many lockbox ships. A tier list video for them would take forever.

Thank you for pointing out how dismally Cryptic treated the Lego B'rel. I know its been stated many times but Cryptic should have to wear that shame like a Scarlet Letter till their end. I find it pathetic that there's not a 5/3 Sovereign yet. Perhaps Cryptic will add it as their last hoorah.

Why can't I find any directions on how to play this game!? I can find articles and videos showing what you do, just not how to do it. Where do I drag and drop something!? Where do I get the things you need to build weapons!? Where is the explanations for how to do something!? Please, don't say the Star trek wiki! That thing is worthless in telling you how to do anything.

The complete disrespect you gave to the TOS Connie will not be forgotten. Especially when 10:43 you claim to like miracle worker ships in regards to an uglier connie. It might not be S tier, but putting it on the same tier as the bird of prey... Scotty would punch your face off for this.

@Stu1701 First off, I agree with you about the Ross Class. SUPREME DISAPPOINTMENT. The Galaxy Class is my all-time favorite ship in all of Star Trek. I was so hyped when they announced that Anniversary Bundle with Legendary Hero ships because I had been wanting an actually decent T6 Galaxy for the longest time. Then they revealed the Ross. Not only does it look too chonky (sorry I don't like the design of the Ross Class), but the specs were just utter garbage. As such I'm eyeing both the Cygnus and the World Razer. If the World Razer ends up in a Mudd's Bundle some time soon, I'll jump on that. Otherwise I might just burn a T6 Coupon for the Cygnus. Secondly, I have a question for you. Like you, I love the Romulan D'deridex Warbird. Like you, it's my favorite non-Fed ship of all time. As such, I want one. I've been eyeing that Legendary Romulan Bundle for a while. Would you recommend that? Or do you have a better recommendation for someone who wants a T6 D'deridex?

If you like the D'Deridex, the Legendary is the best version of the ship in the game. And it may not be the best ship on this list, stats-wise, you can certainly make it work at an endgame level. Plus you get the Legendary Scimitar with it, so if you want something more powerful, you'll have that available to you, too.

I'm honestly shocked. Those are your S-Tier ships while you put the Legendary Defiant into A!? I mean putting the Leg. Defiant to A is absurd by itself already but in what universe, timeline or reality is the Leg. NX Class even in the same league. I also HEAVILY disagree on the Adamant being better than the Leg. Defiant. Man...like...you've even put the Galaxy Dread in S....is this even real life right now!? 🤣

You put the Sovereign in C, as far as I'm concerned the rest of your picks are automatically pretty darn invalid. 😅

I'm one of those people, but the thing with broadsiders is that they still perform just as well on, if not a bit better, on 5/3. Largely due to the nature thay your ship still has to fly forward, so there will still be a lot of times where your forward arc is pointing at enemies while your aft arc isn't.

Well, I'm so sorry I didn't take into account that it's your favorite. Every ship is rated based on its stats. If you have a problem with the Legendary Ambassador's ranking, take it up with whoever gave it a 4/4 weapons layout and the standard cruiser mastery package.

To an certain extent, yeah. It does seem like a number of the really ugly ships get better stats. Especially with the lockbox and promo ships. But I wouldn't say that with the Legendaries. Well, I would for the Scimitar. But I think a lot of the S and A tier ships look really good, or at least have a costume that's good looking.

Nice breakdown of the ships, and it's especially helpful as I'm planning on using the zen I'd saved for the 14th bundle to pick up a couple of legendary bundles during the next sale. It's tough seeing the Legendary ships I wanted most from the 10th anniversary bundle at the bottom of the list (Constitution, Sovereign and Intrepid), but I definitely agree with that ranking. They're fun to fly, but damn, they could have been so much better.

I'm not sure I'm surprised by any of these choices, even the ones I disagree with are only really a half step from where I'd have put them. I'd say my biggest disagreement would be the legendary intrepid, which I think the multi-mission giving it access to DHC's and a hangar should bump her up to 'B'. I also think the Caelian and Ross should go up a level, but the Repulse and D'Deridex should go down one.
