@@lurch789 - Damn! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your insight! You are 112% right. People don’t understand true meaning of even a 1 degree shift. Or, pay attention to how long 30 or 60 seconds truly is. Hockey stick taps to you for bush flyin’! It looks like so much fun. I can’t wait until that opportunity is mine. I’m at the very beginning of my own pilot journey. Just began looking for flight schools! I’m so excited. Aviation has become an obsession! RIP Jim Tweto. 🖤

Jim had sooooo many friends that he never met! I'm one of them! R.I.P. my friend!
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing and it is the first reality programme I became hooked on, simply because the humour, the relaxed way the family business was run and Jims skill, which often took my breath away, especially when landing on a river bank.. Feel so bad for Ariel and Ferno, along with the other two Tweto sisters and I send them my love at this most dreadful of times..
Jim was a legend. A man of integrity and class...a rarity in today's world. He will be missed but his legacy lives on!

I loved Flying Wild Alaska, my deepest condolences. I loved how he was with his family!

One of the very few reality shows that one gets to know these individuals and admire who they are along with what they do . RIP gentlemen, condolences to your loved ones
I watched Him.....He was a Great Man ,Husband and Father....Prayers with your Family

Bless your family,,,,,,,,each one,,,,He was a reasonable person,,,,,,,,,,Loved his family mentored his kids and other,,,,,,Thanks for all you did for all of us,,,,,,
When their program was on the air, I watched every episode. I was always impressed with this man. He was a very hard worker who expected others to work hard to, but he treated all of his employees with respect. His love for his family, friends, co-workers, piloting and Alaska showed through. Rest in peace my friend.
He was an awesome pilot and an awesome man and father. His legacy will live on forever in the lives of those he fostered and those he influenced. My own trips to Alaska are because of him. RIP Jim
As a pilot myself I know the skills Jim needed and had . I followed each and every episode. As others have said even though never knowing him, losing Jim is like losing a friend.
I remember watching Jim and thinking what a hard working happy dude he seemed to be. He was living his dream. Fly the heavens Jim ! ✌️ My regards to everyone effected by this. Wheelchair John in Idaho
From Watching him for several years I can say he will be greatly missed in this world and happily greeted in the next.
Jim was a legend and inspiration all the way down here to Louisiana. Glad to hear he went out doing what he loved and not languishing in some hospital. Fly High Jim!
I watched that show in its entirety . It was a mainstay while eating dinner with my family. Jim in physical sense is gone however he lives on in his daughters and wife. RIP Jim.
We love you all!!!!! Rest in peace great Father, pilot hard working family man. God bless you and your family.
A truly remarkable human being and one of a kind, thoughts with the family and his extended family.😊
I had enormous respect for this great man. God bless his family. May God ease their suffering. 🙏🙏
Legends never die. I’m so sorry for your loss. Rest In Peace Jim.
He is a great Alaskan and legendary pilot, he is well-loved the world over for his humor, the love of his families, friends, and those inspired by his world of flying, and many thanks for his contribution to inspiring many to become pilots.
i will miss him my he rest in peace we lost a great man!!
I still remember watching flying wild, and how much of an impact he had on Ariel learning to fly. Not many fathers would’ve had the character to support a daughter or son in such a difficult endeavor. I was stationed in Alaska in the 80’s and knew a few pilots up there and everyone spoke in awe and respect when they talked about his business and his family. Sending much love and ravens ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hadn't heard about this until just a few minutes ago. What a tragedy....what a loss. As someone else said, even though we never met him personally, we can still understand the tremendous loss. RIP Jim

I seen what Jim did and he was always asking for it doing the most daring landings I could EVER imagine! What a skillful technician!!
As a former principal for BSSD at Savoonga (1990-1993) I did not know Jim yet but I knew the risks of flying in Alaska on a daily basis. While we were there we lost 3 planes out of Nome with people aboard and all of them hurt deeply. Alaska is a big state with a small population and everyone pulls for each other. We all got to know Jim and his family from Flying Wild Alaska and it seems the world came to love them as I know the local population does. Jim was a huge piece of the fabric of the entire Bering Strait region. Please lean together as a community and support his family. They are tough but fragile and can use all the love and support available, both locally and country wide. Please remember them all in your prayers. Sincerely, Dr. Jim Lewis
Learned flying from an Uncle years ago out of Fairbanks, Jim Tweeto name was invoked more than once in conversations. Never knew him but word of mouth can be priceless. My best to his family through these days. To Ariel ........your father gave you wings to take you anywhere in life.
Hi from Australia guys, I have been flying for over 30 years at all levels of aviation and losing friends in accidents never gets easier. Our family loves watching the show and we know that he loved his job and how much it means to pilots doing this type of work that they do make a difference in the community. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this accident and we wish everyone the best. Mike Bird and family. 🙁🙁
Losing Jim, sent ripples through the piloting community. I believe everyone is saddened by his loss!
To all that love Jim, I was so very impressed with him watching Flying Wild Alaska. It was easy to see his passion for flying, teaching and living. He impressed me greatly as a man to be admired. Your family together showed how love can produce great people by example Jim was a wonderful man. So sorry for your loss especially you Ferno ansdAriel and her sisters.
Jim personified what ‘Family’ is. The love, warmth, compassion came right through the screen on his show. My condolences to the Tweto family.
i loved that show so much . we will all miss him very much, along with all the people that depended on him to keep them alive in the wilderness of Alaska, he was a man that did not let people down. god bless him and his family .
He was such a special man, they broke the mold when he was made, there will never be another Jim T!
Happy Landings, Jim. Hugs to the Tweto family.
I just came across this by accident. I watched every season of their fantastic series, I miss it to this day. Ariel is such a sweetheart, it was a thrill to watch her get her pilot certification on the show. Jim always cracked me up and wow, what a whale of a bush pilot. Prayers to the entire family, friends and loved ones. Smooth winds and blue skies, Jim.
My wife & I always enjoy their show. My wife grew up near the Airport they flew out of. Always brought back good memories. RIP our Friend and praying for comfort for the family.
Sorry for your loss. Your husband/dad was a neat guy. I enjoyed your TV show. May God comfort you in this time of grief.
I’m glad he graced us and agreed to do Flying Wild Alaska. What a gift to get to know Jim if only for a little while.
I feel for Jim’s family. What a great guy, and a great family! I’m sorry they are going through this. And for the Idaho guide, who is a family friend as well.
As a pilot, just watching the show,I learned many things from jim and the entire family....R.I.P. Jim
Don't know him but seemed like a great man
May God Bless and comfort the Tweto family as He welcomes His newest Angel in Heaven. Mick in Florida
stay strong! we're all so inspired by your light!
Jim was a fine gentleman and talented pilot; to his family we wish the best; thanks for the memories😪
I loved the Flying Alaska show -- watched it all day long -- Jim - a real legend and a true man of integrity - God Bless
I really enjoyed the show and to me Jim was the quintessential patriarch of the state of Alaska with everything he did for the people of that state. When someone you love dies it is like a bottle being broken on the beach. At first it is shiny and sharp, but over time & tide it gets dull and not so sharp but is always there, just like the pain of losing a loved one. My condolences to the families of those lost in this tragic accident. Love from the Carolinas. FLY NAVY!!!
RIP Jim. Of course I never knew you personally but I feel your loss all the same. I was a devotee of Flying Wild Alaska for every season.
My deepest condolences to the Tweto family . Jim Tweto was a fine human being , a geat guy . Erwin , Belgium .

Such a sad loss, JT was an inspiration to me, a great guy, who lived life well. I only found out yesterday about the accident. He passed on my birthday. RIP and my sincere condolences to his family and friends.
I am a pilot and my heart breaks for Jim's wife snd family. God will surely give a wonderful pair of wings to Jim and i hope someday to fly with him!
I’m so so saddened by your lose....I’ve be a big fan for years ..I am so heart broken... can’t imagine how you all feel....God Speed girls...you are in so many of our thoughts...With Love ...wings will travel!
God bless each of you.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Loved their show. He was such a humble guy. I love these two strong woman.
Such a hard loss for all aviators and especially his family. A true Alaskan legend.
Hate to hear that. Loved the show, it seemed a real genuine family that loved each other. Rest in Peach Jim you will not be forgotten.
My Grandfather was a pilot and he managed and designed the airport in Barrow Alaska. I use to hear stuff about people who were in trouble I can just imagine how heart wrenching it is especially in the winter I have to send you my condolences to you I learned to love the sound of airplanes I learned a lot we use to run Around the hanger of the Airport was fun
I watched the show a couple years after it orignally aired. Hes the reason I decided to get my private pilot's license. Took my discovery flight in 2014.
Nothing but love for the Twetos.. carry on in your dads spirit and everything will be ok
Sad to see this, after watching the show on TV, he looked so in control and loved watching the events about Ariel and living in Alaska. Rip Jim, your family is the proof of how to raise a family in tough conditions.
Every Man should strive to be like him. May God comfort his family !!!
I was so saddened to hear about the news of Jim, and have a heavy heart for the family and his loss. His inspiration to all of us pilots will forever remain. After meeting this amazing family, my dream was to someday meet them all. He passed away, doing what he truly loved and continues to fly with the ravens. May God watch over both of you and your family.❤🙏🏻
OMG, I am so sorry for your loss, loved the show, he seemed so happy in his plane, & the day you (Ariel) got your pilots license, the look of pride on his face, prayers for your family.. 🙏
I wept watching this. I true man has passed on, but has left behind a lineage of incredibly capable people. Those people include, but are not limited to, his beautiful family and souls that he touched through his humor and profound expertise. It's been a very long time since I've felt this sad for the loss of someone I didn't know personally. My hope is that Jim and I could have been good friends. I learned to love him and his family through the show "Flying Wild Alaska." Today the ground is angry and the sky is happy!
It's so refreshing to see and hear the family being so grounded in their beliefs and heritage traditions. It takes me back three years to when America had those foundations. The concept that Jim touched so many and in a positive way is so true. Six years ago I was on a connector flight from St. Louis to Marion, Illinois. As we loaded the Cessna 402 business-liner (Cape Air), several of the passengers became nervous about the overcast weather conditions. The pilot was busy getting his taxi clearance so I (as a private pilot, and sitting in the copilot seat) asked the passengers to note the jacket the pilot was wearing (from Jim's air charter service in Alaska) and commented that the pilot likely had more hours in severe weather conditions than I had in total. Once the jacket logo was noted, virtually everyone on the plane acknowledged they were fans of Jim's show and a feeling of confidence prevailed. Such is Jim's legacy ... along with so much more.
What a loss. Ariel was a charmer. He was contracted by our guide to fly us to our Hunt camp. We spoke with Mr.Tweto about him one day taking a break and coming to South Africa. Where we would take him on a hunt. What a wonderful seriously funny man. I remember him telling us it might be choppy. Told us to eat peanut butter and jam for lunch. Because it tastes same coming back as it did going down. Gave us " Whoppee Bags " what a wonderful pilot...
Oh wow, that exact same thing happened to me too when I lost my dear grandma back in 1998. A bird I'd never seen before entered her house and flew around a bit before leaving. My ma and me were bewildered and shocked, but we knew it was gran. Although my grandma loved birds and fed some house sparrows every day (they came to the house and tapped on her window when they were hungry), I'd never seen any bird enter her house. The thing is, every time something significant happens in my life I see that bird. We just sold our house (not my grandma's property, totally different part of Israel), it was a very stressful ordeal, but after a few years and we finally made the sale, I was sitting on the balcony enjoying a cup of coffee and I saw that bird again in the trees. So I do believe Ferno when she says Jim sent those crows. Such a sad loss and I'm sure Jim's up there looking after you from above. May he RIP.
a wonderful family. RIP Jim
I am so sorry to hear the man died. My deepest condolences to the family. I really enjoyed the show. He will be missed.
If we had more Jim’s and Shane’s in this world, what a wonderful world……
