Legendary 2JZ and RB30 combined into one 3200+hp capable billet block!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Bullet Race Engineering have combined the best bits of both Toyota's legendary 2JZGTE and Nissan's RB30DET, into the "Drag Extreme" RB30.
Presented at World Time Attack Challenge, we chatted to Darren Palumbo about his mad scientist spec creation.
This Frankenstein billet block utilises 2JZ bearings which offer a far stronger crank end, with the wider bore spacing of an RB30 and the superior RB head, giving the best of both worlds.
Darren from Bullet Engineering tells us this monster block will be capable of in excess of 3200hp and 100psi of boost :O
The age old argument of 2JZ vs RB is pretty much done and dusted when it comes to this combination build :)

    Yes, the Barra is a joke. Standard Barras are pushing their luck at 400+HP, the V6 in my Mazda is known for failing around the same level and nobody in our community would claim they were especially tough. Some Barras are good for something north of 500hp with stock internals but what is that compared to a simple and common 2JZ that will happily live at 800hp without touching a rod or piston?

    @some random guy for a billet block with this much R/D and ptotential it is a good price for any serious racers. Sure you can get a cast block for much less but these tend to hold up a shit load better and are much easier to repair, not to mention when you hold it up to the price of the rest of the cars these blocks will be sitting in it is priced well

  • @Leng_AL

    @Leng_AL

    Definitely a fair price for such a crazy product. Full freshly assembled Rb26 engines from Nismo themselves are already in the 30k price range, and considering they still use the normal casting methods, 14k for a full billet block is a way better deal. Albeit that it’s just a block and not a fully assembled engine, but this block most likely has more potential than the traditional casted iron ones. Very excited for the future of crazy rb engines!

    Leng Yang crazy part is this particular RB30 is a Frankenstein Something goes wrong you can’t just slap another ordinary 2JZ or RB30 Therefore it is an expensive build even at 20k for the block alone. 4Pistons sell engines for less than 7k & able to withstand over 1000hp in your everyday civic

    @@mustnotsleepmustwarnothers6463 the 'I' only means "intelligent " by Toyotas nomenclature, and that's simply a more sophisticated control system for variable valve timing compared to the pre 1991 VVT system and does not include any lift variability. That would be VVTL-i the L standing for lift.

    If your going for those numbers any thought on running a fire ring along with a head gasket instead.of.just head gasket alone. I know the diesel guys run firing rings along with others because of their demand for those high boost pressures amongst other reason

    I personally love the JZ head but for street the ITB set up is superior to the stock JZ, but that being said these drag motors don't use ITB, so I honestly don't know the answer to your question. It was the feedback given to me by Bullet. Perhaps they can answer that one.
