yeah, Maya is an absolute angel... doesn't mean she can't hold her own though. She ended up being a staple party member due to her mix of healing and offense magic. In a way, she's like a red mage from final fantasy given she would have had both black and white magic compared to that series

Not many are a fan of Maya, like most characters that use magic. Only because they start out incredibly weak. I will admit she was a pain because her defense as at an all time low, kept having to heal her, but she proved VERY useful and very powerful in the later levels. Especially with her origin, Rivas to heal all party members and give an attack and defense boost. To those who never kept her in combat and replaced her, you're truly missing out on her true potential. Keep leveling her up. TOTALLY worth it.

+GuardianofAges2007 Absolutely. Her defense for me somehow skyrocketed past Sharon and Kazan for me and was on par with Lang, lol XD. Though I think it had to do with one of the skill chips I had set on her or something like that. She became one of my best characters thanks to being able to take advantage of elemental weaknesses.

I remember this area. The Centurion Challenge. Time consumimg. I remember the sad fact of getting to the final challenge, enter it, and cue black screen of death....i was pissed.

There was a time where she was not that bad. But she becomes a trash during late game. Especially when you start to learn how to one-shot everything :)

@@harrytmthy , I disagree respectfully. Her spells, being elemental based gave me the advantage of using elemental weaknesses from certain enemies.

As soon as I got Sharon I always just replaced Maya and moved on. Always seemed like her damage was terrible. Plus, watching her cast 1-2 spells a round wasn't as satisfying as watching my melee attackers go off.

Ah this brings back memories

She is definitely a Late Game Hero

Big Bang and Dancing Flames are my favorites.

Back in 2005 when i was only 15 i use sharon and agnes as my party but never use her as my main party. Sharon and Agnes was pure attackers but I regret now of not using her because of her unique attack style😂

This one had to be my favourite! I mean I love how the moves look and her voice actor shes so cute

SheepPoop Yeah, she is beyond all means under appreciated . I tried maxing her out (also using level up bonuses) and she actually becomes incredibly powerful. She may be limited in certain damage departments until she takes advantage of weaknesses and her healing abilities. She just starts off kinda slow and blooms late.

Legaia 2 Duel Saga OST: Warrior's Ordeal.

The one thing that bothers me about Maya is that she doesn't have a hyper art of the wind element. Yeah she's got Raging Sky but it's lightning element and doesn't exploit wind element weaknesses.

Yeah that definitely does suck but, maybe there weren't many enemies weak to wind perhaps? They still could have given a multi hitting tornado as a hyper art though which would have been bad ass. I think it's hyper art amount though because everyone except Lang (and Ayne) have 6 hyper arts, Lang is an exception because Sleeping Dragon is story based.

Probably because Noa had 3 hyper arts with a wind element on each of them in Legend of Legaia. So, I assume that they have to change Maya's 4th hyper arts into thunder element.

The only issue with her is that the spells are strong but if the enemy even dodges one, it's usually the whole spell, assuming it's more than 1 hit.

WanderingAsura : Well, for Nether Gate case, that does make sense for me since she says, "the door to pure darkness". It means that it has no light in that gate, or completely black and dark.

Unfortunately no. This game deserves an award though. The battle system is very unique :)

Can't find this game anywhere for my console and it's lagging as hell on android So damn frustrating

Go computer pcsx2 emulator, the cpu requirements for ps2 emulator is hell big to run smooth , phone is definitely not enough to push

I loved this game and hated it. The gameplay was cool the music was amazing but it didn't follow the original story, the moves took so long to pull off sometimes I would avoid doing them or I'd just fall asleep, a lot of the moves were boring to watch, and you couldn't see the changes in your characters' outfits

I can kinda see why they didn't work off the original story being that the mist was cleared away along with the Seru unless they make some new evil strike again............wait, actually they could have just taken this story and somehow fitted it to follow up with Noa's child as the hero or something. That could have worked. But yes, I have a hate love relationship with it too. The developer did say he was influenced by fighting games somewhat to do the battle system the way it was, but honestly, if he'd just given it a year or two more when some other games came out, he could have easily turned this into a really cool action rpg or something. (there was actually an intention for certain moves to have different damage output on enemies depending on where the character strikes them, but he kinda failed to convey its importance twice now XD.)

I was just talking about that. To have all the characters in Legaia 2 to be the children of Vahn Noa and Gala. It was also eaqually confusing as to whhhyyyy we couldnt catch Seru!!

Yeah, the seru mechanic, although it could use more polishing added substance to the original game. In a way, it reminds me of the difference between some dragon quest or final fantasy games. You have the ones that allow you a lot of freedom and the ability to choose classes, and you have some where the characters represent the classes. in this way, lang represents any fire seru you could get. Maya is literally the orb and spoon seru XD.

I remember playing the demo of LoL and thought it was just perfection. Never seen anything like it. The seru catching ability, like you said, could use some polishing. I downloaded the original on my phone and got so frustrated trying to catch seru I had to take multi breaks from a game I spent nearly a year on. Legaia 2... I don't know. It just seemed like mindless fighting without the gotta catch em all feel. Even LoL went so far as to being able to level up your seru with different effects. The whole deal with not being able to do pretty much what the original(to me) was known for made the whole experience hard to bare.

yeah. They created an expectation of something that could be similar in the next game or built on annnnd nah. Just tossed it out. I like new ideas but, they didn't go for much new here which was the problem. I guess like how it'd be the moment where, you run into a seru within the battle and then it's like "OH, I can catch that!". That surprise factor was nice. Made running into battles not feel like they are entirely redundant.
