Legacy of the Dragonborn V6 Fast-Travel airship test demo

I just finished working out the basic mechanics of the new revised fast travel-able airship! Now instead of set destinations from a list, you can go on deck, activate the wheel (which will open the map automatically if you use SKSE), and select where you want to travel to. It will then travel you and the airship to ANY map marker in the world and account for time passage! You can even transport it between worldspaces AND it will not require ANY patching to make it compatible with new lands mods!!! It will have some potential clipping concerns and ladder access issues in some places but I hope to identify the big ones and apply some conditional adjustments to where the airship is moved to (so it doesn't look like you crashed into Understone Keep for example lol). Only drawback is that followers won't be able to follow on deck, but I'm working on having followers identified by the activation of the hatch, the ladders and the system in general so that they will activate the appropriate activators and be moved where they should be.
Disregard me jumping up and down trying to reach the ladder after the first stop lol, clearly we're gonna need a longer ladder :D

    V6 😳. Very excited! I remember when V5 came out and blew me away. Absolutely love the mod, I'm going to be attempting to get every LotD display in an upcoming playthrough, think I got every display patch including some unofficial ones! Very excited for odyssey and everything else ya'll have to offer!

    So I've managed to get the vanilla follower framework to function with the ship so that your follower will use the ladder and hatch when you do and travel along with you and the ship. Even set up the explorer's dock to only have the map marker enable when using the ship's wheel to travel (because the travel to marker is floating 2300 units below the deck over the bay for mechanical reasons), so no fast traveling to that marker without ship travel. Now I just have to think through how best to handle destination specific adjustments to ship placement to account for major clipping problems.

    Yeah it's one of those little Eureka moments for sure. I figured it out thanks to some help from Deapri in trying to reverse engineer some elements from the live flight airship that I utilized in the new intro live flight cinematic for Odyssey Act 1 and figured out how to use node based object "welding" onto other meshes and figured out that I could just move the airship to the player, designate it at a higher altitude, snap on all the interactive parts and then move the player to the helm all before the screen even loads so the light bulb went on.

    Could mods like lilarcor or no umbra be added to legacy of the dragonborn lilarcor could be a very intressing way to mix in the treasure maps as well and Owo no umbra would defendly fit in the dadric gallary Very well tho just spit balling ideas. But also i just gotta say you are a genius when it came to making lotd and im.sure you hare thos alot but thank you for making it

    We talking about umbra as in the soul sword trapped Skyrim creation club sword or sword from there is no umbra mod dumbra cause if I'm not mistaken OwO the Skyrim added in umbra is already in legacy thro the creation club add on Soo I'm understanding this were talking about the same sword right OwO both are the same. But Soo I'm clear on the one I'm talking about is the one for the mod There is no umbra the purple self fighting companion sword sorry if I'm being annoying by asking lol Owo just slipped my mind

    @@cjcamero81night50 it's not FROM a mod, it's a canonical sword from elder scrolls that is not found in skyrim. There are other mods and CC that add it in but that's nothing new to unique items. Any other mods that add it in will be patched or there will be duplicate alternate versions in the game.

    Yeah survival mode will have to still be set to travel to designated spots by way of the map in the cabin since this relies on ACTUAL fast travel which is disabled in survival, but it will at least function more or less the way it does currently, but will have a lot more spots and they'll be easier to set up.

    @@icecreamassassin3006 Ah fair enough, the classic quirks of finally making something work almost perfectly and realizing too late another obstacle is souring it a bit. No worries, I assume you had to hand-place the airship at each location which must have been a pain. Thanks for your work and hope things are going well :)

    @@PetrusEksteen So went back to mechanics after re-skinning the whole airship with new 4K textures and worked out how to have the airship selectively bypass the block on survival fast travel so you when you use the wheel it will unlock it temporarily and turn it back on if it was enabled before. So pretty stoked. Now just need to figure out what if anything I want to do with the map room 😅
