Your source for the Game Movie Database.
Unfortunately, this channel has been demonetized by KZread for the third time and therefore the Game Movie Vault has been closed. It was fun for over 10 years but I can no longer afford to spend the time to make these videos without being reimbursed by KZread. I have started a second channel that focuses on Diablo 4 and I am thinking of starting another separate Game Lore channel very soon.

Actually that's kind of amazing. Imagine a Raziel and Kain podcast where they talk about all the crap they've had to deal with and where they thought it was all going to lead them in the end, but didn't. Be a long damn show, but I'd listen all the way. Them laughing at events prior and making fun of Mobius and the BS of history would be hysterical.

@@fundyproductions5927 As much as I'd love a true conclusion to the original story, Defiance being almost 20 years old now makes the chances of that infinitessimally small. As sad as it is, the only way for this series to come back is through an indirect sequel with a new protagonist (like in the canceled Dead Sun), a full on reboot, or a HD/4K remaster/remake of the original titles. I know which I'd prefer.

@White-Van Helsing LordKingKamiGuru, listen guys, y'all are probably right I have no idea(I give you that tho) I guarantee there's probably some games that are new that I'd probably like. Tbh I've never even owned either of these 2 newest gen systems (xbox 1, ps4, ect.) Although I have played them. Not the switch yet. N yeah, like the ff7 remake?! Looks fuckin amazing!! I suppose what my counter point is trying to be (along with whoever's comment I commented on, what I felt they where kinda implying).. is well I'm 31 now. I feel as tho I've seen the absolute pinnacle of story-based games. N it was like a decade or so ago. Games like this, ...I mean I could list a hundred games too y'all mostly what I liked n have also been into is RPGs. But something not rpg..what I would call like the absolute pinnacle (tip of the spear!) Would be Silent Silent hill 2. Point is soooooo many of these absolutely amazing titles have like been lost nowadays. The ff7 remake is like the only thing(well n ff15 too) that was from one of those juggernaut titles that have been released on these newest gen systems. Zelda cotw too I suppose. Sorry, I've probably lost y'all by now, obviously I'll give you this I might be a little bit older n cynical nowadays. Also I get I'm not the obvious target demographic game developers are going for nowadays! It's the Current gen z teenager's who are the target demo now. And ALL I have seen these freaking kids play nowadays n for like the last, Idk 5 to 7 yrs, is basically the shit I listed off. Which is always multiplayer/online or whatever. But ok ok, I believe y'all. the last of us 2 sold the most what this year? See I've never even heard of it, is it any good? I'm assuming it's like another zombie thing..? Just..guessing from the name. Can you actually put like more than 5hrs into to beat/fully appreciate the thing? I heard xbox and playstation talking about how..idk it sounded like they were trying to predict the outcome of the system wars n all that crap. An it sounded like they were kinda predicting that it'll probably end in the next 5 to 15yrs. Everything will just fade out too. ..Mobile..I guess. Yall got me, I admit I do live in the past n haven't liked what I've seen the last several yrs. N I don't know how old yall are...if you guys are a couple of younger gen Zrs, idk if ya realize gaming has been out FOR AWHILE now n I mean ppl in their 30s, 40s, hell 50s have grown up gaming too an even if we're not the target demo, we're STILL a demo!! And its good too make new shit, of course!!,I guess let's ALL just pray that whatever direction gaming goes that it'll work out so EVERY demographic has SOMETHING they actually wanna play! Let's pray. Much love fam

I honestly think LOK is in a league of its own in this regard. There are hidden gems surely (one of my personal favourite less-known gems is Okami) but for such a well written story and the improvements made in each sequel gameplay wise I can't believe it got thrown to the scrap heap. I absolutely loved Defiance with its fast and satisfying combat and smooth platforming - dodgy camera angles sometimes didn't help but I loved Raziels's gliding. My first LOK game was actually Soul Reaver 2 at the age of 8/9 and the story and setting just encapsulated me, despite not knowing the full backstory of everything at the time. I remember reading that Defiance's poor sales were the reason for the series demise, and its just so sad that one commercial failure destroyed the continuation/conclusion of one of the finest narratives in gaming (or story-telling in general) history.

way of the samurai. the combat of WoS is to me the most authentic samurai duel combat system in any game I've played. Nioh is over the top despite it being fun, and ghost of tsushima is perhaps too simple. But WoS truly feels like you're in a samurai duel, carefully waiting for your oponent to strike, while they do the same. And not to mention the multiple ending structure to the playthroughs which is always really fun to play around with.

Man, the cutscene at 52:35 is so good; the detail is great. After Kain tells Raziel that he holds the cards, Kain then looks tense for a moment before the camera changes. He knows how this plays out and is expecting the worst. Love the detail. Second best scene in the game, right behind the one at the Pillars talking about the "third option".

The people that tried to get the series going again with Legacy of Kain: Dark Sun were the same people behind Silent Hill: Origins, another game that screwed up established lore and precedence. Silent Hill's story is actually pretty straightforward once all the pieces are in place, so if the developers behind Origins couldn't understand THAT story, I guarantee you they took one look at Legacy of Kain's lore and their heads exploded.

Hence why we will never see a continuation of The Legacy of Kain.

Nope. Raziel himself IS a paradox. Specifically a Bootstrap Paradox. He always recreates himself. He became a ravenant so he could kill his human self, this allows him to be revived as a vampire only to be reborn as a reaver again. He is outside of Fate but was kept contained within this cycle til Kain broke the timeloop but freeing Raziel broke the timeline so hard it bent both the past and the future (Erasing Blood Omen 2 from existance and freeing the Hylden).
