you just gotta be careful for misinformation. he speaks with great confidence so its easy to believe everything he says, but sometimes he is just 100% wrong. for instance, 1:47 - literally the only person on earth i've ever heard say leaning forward makes a lunge more quad dominant. the exact opposite is true, as this puts a greater stretch on your hamstrings and glutes (just try it, get into the lowest part of an upright lunge and begin leaning forward. where do you feel the stretch most? bet its not the quad.) if you want it more quad dominant, stay upright, take short steps, and push yourself up (through your heel) every step rather than forward. this is basic biomechanics, i have no idea where he got that "inhibit the hamstring" BS so just take what ryan says with a grain of salt. i too love his approach and his personality, but make sure you check against another reputable source first

  • @noro5069

The primary reason I watch is you are straight to the point, you give a brief reason/explanation why you like the exercise (unlike some who just go on and on), you infuse a bit of humor. Finally, you are doing exercises I have enjoyed but told that they don't grow your legs and you are doing the exact opposite of these supposed "guru's" and you have massive legs. I've finally found you, and I'm getting bigger AND stronger, I was losing gains doing low volume programs and I hated it, all I gained was fat and lost muscle, despite eating like a horse. Now, I'm drinking 4 protein shakes a day, 4 eggs, and burritos as needed (home made with my beef and spices). I also have bought some ground bison which I eat with my eggs in the morning. Ryan, never stop making truthful content

Ryan you really are the best fitness coach in my opinion. Not many people know nearly as much about building and activating muscle as you do from what I’ve seen, even if it is the hardest way to train, it works! I’ve tried your methods and they work wonders. From the massive amounts of videos I’ve watched from other popular influencers on KZread, the way you use all these small intricate adjustments to really feel the contraction and the burn is like nothing else! I hope you read this one day because I would love to train with you in person. I just got certified as a personal trainer from a well known nationally recognized organization, but I still have lots to learn. Please continue to post videos, they have been invaluable to me and so many others. P.S. love your humour 😂

Hi Ryan, I was told when I did my personal training cert, not to bring the knee to far over the toes in a lunge, now I feel I might have been missing out on more range of motion. I’m glad you mentioned bad backs because I’ve suffered with bulged L5 over S1 discs for over 20 years or more of chronic pain, (it’s like being tortured everyday and night). I noticed that when I gave up resistance training it got worse, so I vouch to never quit. This is my life now and with your advice I hope to gain way more strength and size. Thank you for the great videos and advice 👍🏻

Thanks bro. Got reacquainted with the step up box this morning. Please do a video where you run through a weekly or preferably a fortnightly sample training routine. Specifically one that covers all the major muscle groups and gives the heads up on which groups you can mix and match with on the same day. I'm time poor with work and a young family and want to maximise my sessions in the best way by hitting everything I can over a fortnightly cycle.
